and the site owners at Broomfield don't allow "firepits" on the shore, they have a notice displayed to that effect and reserve the right to ask you to leave if there are any issues. I understand why the do it, too many fail to adhere to the access code 'leave no trace' and too often there are those who light fires without regard to how it impacts on other guests, not the first time we've had to abandon our own van due to someone's thoughtlessness the smoke from their fire causing our van to be filled with choking smoke.
