  • If you are new to flying, here is a brief tour and explanation of everything on the instrument panel of our Cessna 172. I hope it helps you!
    Here is my list of recommended things to purchase if you are just getting started flying. Regardless of where you learn to fly, it is good to have these on hand. The FAA manuals can be downloaded for free but I still prefer to have a printed copy. You can purchase from Amazon here:
    AIRPLANE FLYING HANDBOOK amzn.to/3WmsIfi
    PILOTS HANDBOOK OF AERONAUTICAL KNOWLEDGE amzn.to/37XxsE2
    FAR/AIM amzn.to/3vkXsln
    PILOT LOGBOOK I recommend if just getting started: amzn.to/3zOxfxi
    and also download pdf versions for free from the FAA here:
    www.faa.gov/regulations_polic...
    www.faa.gov/regulations_polic...
    As an Amazon Associate we may earn a very small commission from qualifying purchases. Thanks for your support, as it helps us to create content for you like this!

    I love your videos. I am 35 years old with two children and after postponing my interest in aviation so many times I recently booked my introductory flight. Continue with the quality of your videos. Greetings from Puerto Rico!

      Awesome, great job taking that first step! It is never too late to start, plenty of people start flying MUCH later than you are. There is so much opportunity in aviation right now, both for a career and just for fun. Keep this momentum going, you wont regret it.

      Almost 30 here with two babies too and super excited to have my introductory flight tomorrow. I have been studying, taking notes and got all my material. It’s just the financing part that I’m a bit scared too but totally doable to accomplish PPL and go all the way to ATP. Just keep going!

    Brilliant video thank you, if only I was 20 yrs younger I would have loved to have learned to fly, it's just so fascinating to me.
    I'm a driving instructor (cars) and although this in itself is an interesting job when people are learning to drive a car but know very little, it's nothing compared to aviation

    Thank you for your videos, they are all full of good and useful information. I am just started with getting my certificate but currently looking for a C172 to purchase as well. Would you be able to do a full walk around on your plane N401DT? You have a beautiful plane, it would help guide some of us that are looking with certain things you may have upgraded or changed and why you did so.

    I'd like to know: do you own your airplane or can you rent one? I know nothing about this industry unfortunately.

    • @FreedomFlight1
      @FreedomFlight1  7 місяців тому +1

      You can do either. Renting is usually the best option starting out.

    What is the device that I see pilots rolling with the palm of their hands? Sometimes in movies you see a ball or something. What's it called?

    What do you mean by "co-ordinating" a turn?

    • @FreedomFlight1
      @FreedomFlight1  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching. A coordinated turn, is a turn made with the proper combination of aileron and rudder inputs. Too much or too little rudder input can lead to a "slip" or "skid". Here's a great article in Flying Magazine that might help you... www.flyingmag.com/technique-tip-week-coordinated-turns/

    I think there is much to learn on the ground long before any take off or flying in the air. I mean ALOT to learn on the ground.

    • @FreedomFlight1
      @FreedomFlight1  7 місяців тому

      Well the more you learn on the ground prior certainly will help and make flying more efficient. Personally, I jumped right in and learned the book side of things concurrently while flying but…I’m impatient ha. Thx for watching!

    • @FreedomFlight1
      @FreedomFlight1  10 місяців тому +1

      I know it’s expensive and hard to do. Start small and take every step you can to learn anything you can. Keep looking for opportunities to be around airplanes and pilots. Try seeing if there are any opportunities working at a local airport especially at a flight achool. It’s a great way to get to know people. There are a ton of free resources online that can also help you learn.

    • @FreedomFlight1
      @FreedomFlight1  11 місяців тому +2

      Well you can certainly learn a lot on those. Some of my most impressive students over the years were ones that routinely flew a simulator at home, no joke! Thx for watching.
