So did you learn something about Trains? However I did state, the arrow is the Exit, it's actually not it's the direction the train enters. Also Path Signals plus more will get its own video as i would like this to be a stepping stone for the next Train Video.
Definitely one of the better explanation vids out there. Question though: If I have a single track around the entire map, with multiple stations, does one block signal placed at a station mean that the entire line around the map is now one block? And that I would have to put block signals at more stations if i wanted to have more than one train?
Thanks friend. I've watched other people's videos on trains, but you explained the basics that a lot of the others seem to have assumed I had already figured out. I am almost to trains in my save, and can now plan better because of your good presentation of the basics. =)
Thank you for sharing your train knowledge! Not many people in tutorials note that the arrow direction on the station is important and I didn't know this in my early SF days so it's good to see. Also loved the explanation for the block signals and how it splits things into sections (which I hadn't quite understood before!)
I think this is the video I needed to understand what step I need to take now that I've unlocked trains. But, I want to run one rail for the long distance coverage, and have each station be a cul-de-sac where the train turns around and goes back onto the main route. I believe I have the knowledge gleaned from this video to do it. Thank you.
Very well done! I’ve been dicking with trains for a couple years but have gotten away…needed a refresher. Your approach of showing a simple example is very clear. Thanks!
Now after watching this video I might actually start my train which has been idle since 2021, lol. Well I did recently get back into the game. It is much simpler than I thought, so I might test it out for myself instead of spending 800ish materials per belt that cover very long distances.
Video was clear and sound! Great way explaining, without too much details! Only thing I missed are the path signals. Was that on purpose? Like a sequel ---> TRAINS PART 2. THE MELON CART! We have to talk about path signals and switches too!!!
Even though I figured out a good amount of Trains there were some great tips here. The double conveyor at your station also helps it load/unload faster, which might matter if the time between trains isn't long enough, and the second train can't unload all of it's cargo.
i havent done trains yet in Satisfactory , but i have played alot with trains in Factorio. The other signals are to optimise things like crossings and merges. but basically with the block signals alone you could get a train network to work , just make sure that you make lots of sections as many as possible , and that the sections are not shorter then 1 train except for sections where you dont want trains to stop and wait such as in the middle of a intersection or merger , there you make the section small so a train will wait in front of it or after it. in Factorio you use chain signal infront of intersection then make sure the section is too small for train to stop on the intersection and then blocksign after, im not sure exactly why or what the chain signal actually means
Thank you so much for these, the moment I got a train I loved it LOL most frutrating thing is the tracks though I wish they'd automatically build a bridge or like the convayers have when you raise them up.
You are more then welcome, if you have any questions dont be afraid to ask. We have an awesome community that has a wide range of knowledge that can help you aswell! :)
ONE question I have about the train station, if I have three fright platforms daisy chained, they all fill up together, shouldn't they empty out the same way, also if one platform is loaded with two or more different items, will they only load or unload the item set to the train timetable?? I know I said one question, but your video opened the flood gates in my brain! if a 6 wagon train pulls into a three platform station, will only the front three wagons get unloaded or would it pull up and unload the next three?? so many questions, so little time! great video by the way, answers lots of questions, but makes me think of more!! thanks tons!!
Thank you! this is what I was looking for, I know how I'll set up my station networks. One question though, what are the other signals, the "path" signals, used for?
2:05 for every one locomotive you need 4 freight cars? I did not know that. I have always thought that for every 4 cars, you need one (additional) locomotive ;)
If a train brings a half full freight car to a freight station set to load, will the freight station fill up the half full freight car with items? or will the freight station only load items onto freight cars if they are empty? Sorry for my bad englisch.
As I wanted to keep this Basic there was some stuff I did not add in, all that will come with an advanced train guide. Including Path Signals, advanced station options and complex things to do with train lines. There's a few that I highlighted in the Pinned comment above also 😊
@@ItsBitz I am trying to get my own trains up along with my nuclear plants. I have kept a small build until this point but need more for the final elevator parts.
Good tutorial but something important a bit more advanced is missing im my opinion. There are so many options to configure your train stops. Like filters for items. I don't see any tutorials about this atm. But I like to see your content 👍
Fantastic video. Could you maybe next look at how to think about incorporating trains into builds? I'm not really sure how to set up my storage to make trains effective in practice. Thanks!
Hey penny, I don't know if your following my Satisfactory let's play series, but I have season 1 underway now and in the next few episodes I'll be starting trains 😃
Why do you confuse the issue by referring to "Blocks" of track as `heria`(area) or section, or its by its colour, or a line, or its colour+ line ( `red line`), or `zone`.????
I hate everything about train signals in this game. they dont make sense. the errors were written by someone who's a troll. the color system is useless for long lines. overall its trash. utter trash.

Didn't know the trick with the two outputs at the trainstation, very helpful :)

This was such a well said, fun, and intuitive train tutorial. I love trains! This gets me excited 😭
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it

definitely the best explanation i've seen about block signals. thanks bitz

You’ve got to be kidding me with this music 😫😩
Can you help no matter how I set up the stations it won't allow self drive it keeps saying next stop is unreachable
what if u wanna load and unload things in the same station
great tutorial, will share it to my friend he always messes trains up lol
How do you use bi directional trains?
best tutorial ever
What about path signal?
Good tutorial but something important a bit more advanced is missing im my opinion. There are so many options to configure your train stops. Like filters for items. I don't see any tutorials about this atm.

I dont think there is a good way to do item filtering yet, since if you uses smart or programmble spliter, you will have to sink the overflow items.
Before watching tutorials I've been assuming a block signal is a signal that blocks trains. I bet half of the players have been thinking the same.
More then likely yeh, alot of people dont know you need to create a block for it to stop within
They should've called it a Sector Signal or something
Plus 1 sub enjoyed video
Thank you ☺️
trains are very hard to deal with indeed
Good info, thanks!
But dislike for the music
Brilliant
what's game it?
Ah, so you get an infinite amount of crates. I was confuses about how i load the crates on it.
