    • @philomorph7

      So by "one click wider" do you mean instead of putting the starter track in the very middle of the foundation, have it be one snap point off-center, then snap all the curved pieces so they are also a little bit outside the center of the foundations?
      It seems like since you're still on the same foundations, it wouldn't take up any actual additional space, right? Just the circle will be a little bigger and the in/out tracks will be a little further apart.

      It's possible, but a bit tricky. You'll need to build as much of the ring as you can within the mk2 designer (I've managed to do a half before the rail position started to get out of bound so I couldn't place it). I made a blueprint of what I've managed to place and placed it again on the designer, but turned it 180 degree and finished the reing. A bit tricky, but doable

    Liked the design, did my own blueprint ready to drop whenever I need it. If you want to put it into a blueprint designer, here's what you'll need:
    place a mk2 blueprint designer
    build as much of the ring as you can before the rail starting position starts to be out of bounds and you get the red icon, in my case I've managed to do half of the ring by starting with the rails parallel to the grid
    Save the blueprint and place it via the builder (not the designer itself), but rotate it 180 degree
    Finish the ring
    Now you have a roundabout blueprint

    • @Rxckxt
      @Rxckxt  2 місяці тому +1

      @@Dr_Axton so currently i do not support this idea and have not made my own bp of this design yet BECAUSE if you place a blueprint roundabout the trains do not path though it correctly the are some other smaller issues but the main one is that sometimes the trains will do a full loop around the round about for no reason. The remedy is to rip up the bp roundabout track and replace it, making the bp null essentially. I have submit a bug report but until this has been fixed by css i do not support bp rondabouts however, should you feel you want to share your design i would love to see some pictures of it in our discord and we also have a bp chanel were you can publicly share your bps

    Importat to note; The Path Signals need to point into the roundabout. The Block signals away from it. Also, the location of the signals will depend on if you have left- or right-hand traffic.
    But I suppose those details are covered in other, more general videos about trains.

  • @WackoMcGoose
    @WackoMcGoose 4 місяці тому +1

    Sweet, and totally blueprintable in a Mk3 Blueprint Designer now that those are a thing! The exits bug me slightly though, and it's not because of the Path Signals... I thought rails had to be a full foundation apart _edge to edge, not center to center,_ for Block Signals to not get confused into thinking adjacent rails are the same block? I guess you could widen it afterward to the requisite distance...

  • @ebslater29
    @ebslater29 3 місяці тому +1

    Really awesome design, so compact and functional! My only criticism is you shouldn't build onto the world grid (ie initial placement on terrain) with 1m blocks. They don't line up properly and your heights will never align when trying to attach to other structures. Only place those initial blocks as 2m or 4m, then you wont have height issues.

  • @niyo919
    @niyo919 4 місяці тому

    I was trying to figure out vertical curves earlier and came across a video about it from a dude named mynamesleon where you use max length (40m) diagonal beams from a center point and place pillars at the ends each time. Because beams can't go longer than 40m, it simulates a circle with a radius 40 that you can also zoop stuff down from the ends for a perfect circle with a smaller radius.
    It may also work for this build if you would prefer to use pillars or foundations to fill out the edges.

    The entire circle does NOT fit in the mk.2. however. You can blueprint the L section, by deleting all diagonal foundations after the first rail placements, but before connection so that you can rotate and print again in mk.2 blueprint designer. But don't close the circle. You'd be left with a centre of the middle foundation to line up with the existing rail with 4 single rail sections on each side. Works very well . Thank you sir.

    the keys to this working properly are: PAY EXACT ATTENTION TO world grid, the first block needs to be snapping onto the world grid or the whole thing cant be so small. Second when you are rotating for the second set of four -THAT foundation block is almost ALWAYS OFF BY A SINGLE NUDGE if you have hover pack its easy to see from the air but from the ground its hard. so pay special attention to all 4 clipped corners because one of them is going to be off and needs to be equaled out on all sides. third when you snap the rail onto the edge and go over one and a half blocks and then try and snap to the next one over IF IT DOESNT WORK FROM HERE YOU MESSED UP PRIOR STEPS. lastly if your signals are treating the roundabout and some lanes as the same entity ive found that deleting old segments (ie first placed down connected rails) and placing down new ones fixes the order so try that before going on a wild goose chase. good luck

That's because one rail needs to be connected to the "inner" rail in the roundabout and the other to the "outer" rail to make a right turn.
      Basically connecting a new rail to an existing junction will connect it to one of the existing rails, not both.
      Edit: my bad, while it's possible to have the rails not correctly connected (and it looks visually identical), the way you did it works.

    Could you please provide a link to your video with the H trick. I use Opera to view UA-cam so I can't see the video cards during your (or anybody else's) videos. I suspect I'm far from alone in this...

    I really like the aesthetics of this, but I never saw the point of trains when you could just run conveyor belts from one place to another. I still ended up building a train, but never used it for cargo, used drones instead.
