I’m Maori but I can speak both Tongan and Maori Fluently. My husband is Tongan so we speak to eachother all the time. I find it easier to learn Tongan because Maori and Tongan words are very similar. I absolutely adore the Tongan language, the people, especially my in laws and of corse the food. Good luck to you!

I was taught that a vowel without an apostrophe is pronounced softly, and when with an apostrophe is pronounced sternly or hard. Representing the feminine and masculine in the language.
This is awsome. Thought about putting a app together to learn tongan language?
