Woohoo, super excited for this year! I'm gonna prioritize Investigator Thoureux for Saint Treme Graveyard, and then Bayou Haunted House and Ruby Krew's Park if there's time.
playing by my own rules (sorry not rolling dice) but excited that i will at least have two books to log for blackoween! i'm fulfilling the prompts with black authors and reading thrillers/mysteries and even some YA horror since i'm a "fraidy cat."
If you are looking for a book with Musical Elements, that is a love letter to New Orleans, written by a black author, I would recommend The Ballad of Perilous Graves by Alex Jennings
So excited to do Blackoween for the second time! Def gonna get some merch. And yes we all deserve a break so glad you're taking one + taking care of yourself 💜💜🧡🧡
Ooh this is so good!! I have to look at my TBR and see what fits where but I suspect Laissez Faire Streetcar is where I'll end up. Thanks so much for putting this together! 💜
I can’t remember if I already commented, but I am coming back to make my TBR and I am so excited!! Thank you always for all your work in this great readathon
I'm pumped to be participating in it this year!! I'm hoping that spooky season (that, for me, starts this month and only ends on dec 1st) puts an end to my reading slump.
I'm glad to hear this is coming back - I wasn't sure! I will promote this in my Halloween/October pile of possibilities video! What a sweet way to remember your mom by adding a locale ❤❤❤ I have missed out on being able to participate in the past but hope to this year!!! Awesome video!
Two of my favorite authors (Marlon James and Victor LaValle) are Black, and I cannot wait to find more and more great writers! I mean, can you go wrong with Due? No. Jemisin? Moseley? Etc. etc? No, you cannot. :D I'm also from Lafayette, so I'm loving the bayou vibe. Thank you for running this! ALSO, if you haven't read the anthology "All These Sunken Souls" yet, it's so GOOOOOOD.
Am so excited for this! Completed St. Treme's Graveyard last year, but am interested in various locations this year, so might not "complete" any; just in it for the reading. Thanks for putting this together.
Bre, last year used 1 book for multiple prompts within a neighborhood. Will we be able to do that again? For example, for She She's Kitchen I rolled a 3, but the book I chose can also work for prompts 1, 4 and 5.
YES, you can combine prompts in a location. One book can work for multiple prompts in 2 locations (example, she she kitchen and joe's library) only. If the book fits prompts in a 3rd location, that's not allowed.
How do you feel about Bacchanal by Veronica Henry for "haunted house" free space? It's a carnival, but people live there? Or is that cheating? I mean, I'm going to read it either way, ha. There's a demon, but I don't know if there's a deal of any kind.
We are so happy to have a romance location in honor of your mom. ♥️♥️♥️
It’s tiiiIIIImmmeeee 🖤🖤

Love this! This is what I meant about being creative with the prompts. It's a location so this would work for sure!
@@LocDBooktician Awesome, thank you!!!
