I bought myself a new gaming laptop just mostly for running MSFS2020. I've been gaming since the Commodore 64 and have been a huge fan of Microsoft Flight Simulator and remember buying a century of flight 2004 which I absolutely loved.. Then later on Flight Simulator X which was amazing as always. To be honest I have no idea about microsoft flight simulator 2020 until after it had come out and I watched a UA-cam video of someone flying over my home town and I was blown away.. and just had to have it, and I absolutely love it, it is absolute perfection. The 3 times I've been most blown away from video games are 1. Playing Doom for the first time on a high end 486. 2. Resident Evil 7 in VR on a PS4 Pro. 3. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 ... Thanks for creating such an amazing peace of software and technology..
My first Flight Sim was 98 before getting into X. Looking back at all these Sims bringing back so many memories of not only what I did in the Simulator but also what was going on in my life. Oh how far we have come, it's amazing what nostalgia can do. Here's to many more great years in Flight Simulator 2020!
@@calvinnickel9995 Sort of. It was owned independently in the sense that MS hadn't bought the IP yet. However at that point it had MS as a publisher, when saying "indie" we usually refer to a product with no major publisher.
This went straight to the heart... Started out with FS4.0 as far as I can remember. This is the only title that I 'played' throughout my entire life so far. Thanks so much for making this dream come true!
I wish that I can live 150 years more just to see how games will become Maybe you will control a plane in a real-world live but no one sees your plane expect you like using signals that fly around the world
This has black mirror vibes haha. A future where humans don't go outside themselves, rather they go outside in an environment just exactly how you described it, like you can see others, but when a real human comes out physically, they just see no one..
Microsoft Flight Simulator has come a very long way. I am proud to say I am a MSFS geek when it comes to these games. I had FSX and now that MSFS 2020 has been released, I am honestly mind blown with how much work and effort was put into this game. Great job Microsft!!
damn... in those last 14 years PC and not only technically and Microsoft have progressed so ahead... is just breathtaking! not only visuals, coding, backend, frontend, database... live telemetry, satellites... servers...this is just mind-blowing!!!! 😲♥️😍👍💪
@@calvinnickel9995 Oh, poor you. Probably some outdated crap because a multi-billion corporation like Microsoft lost interest in a small niche market. But never mind, MSFS is back now so that Level D sims may in the future be run by FS2020 Pro version.
This thing just took the best of every sim out there.. all the add ons, wish-lists.. the lot.. and then went next level. Absolutely incredible.. and now that the 3rd party devs are scurrying to work and releasing content every week, the future of this thing is truly awe-inspiring! :)
I can already remember the time when I flew over the skyscrapers with Microsoft Flight Simulator 95 and enjoyed the flight the whole time. When I played Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight it was so wonderful to experience. Then Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration Expansion Pack came along and my dream had come true. I can still remember the moment that I once completed the flight license in the game and printed it out immediately. To experience the flights over great cities like New York or Istanbul in more detail was very exciting. After hearing nothing about Microsoft Flight Simulator for a long time, I kept wondering why the game was not continuing. When the announcement was presented in the Xbox Event Microsoft Flight Simulator Teaser, I jumped off the sofa. Even though I have gotten older now, this one dream remains to experience the planes and the cities in the simulation as realistically as possible. Thank you Microsoft Flight Simulator and Asobo for the absolutely incredible jump with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
For everything, I've seen that's supposed to be next gen, this actually has that next gen feel to it, so much so that it's a system selling. I'm normally not into flight sims but I'm very interested in this, so much so that I want to upgrade my PC and buy a VR headset once it gets support for it. This feels like one of those kinda games where you can relax, spend countless hours, sight seeing and VR, what a wonder that would be. On another note, I will be interesting to see how this runs on the Xbox One because it's pretty demanding on the PC and feels like the original Xbox consoles doesn't really have the power for it whereas the Xbox Series X should be fine for it but in all honesty, these kinds of games are much better suited for the PC, especially with all the right gear for it.
Unless they entirely redesign the game to get it to run on base Xbox One, it will most likely only go to Series S & X. Minimum spec on PC is a GTX 1060. Don't see how they could possibly get it to run on the current Xbox, other than the X.
@@julianreed7 I suspect that is where DX12 will come in, they'll likely optimize it a lot more for the PC and so it can run on the Xbox One because as it is, I can't see how it would run at all on the Xbox One with how demanding it is on the cpu, DX12 could change that for the better. Personally, this is a very PC centric kind of game and I think would be better suited for being PC only but if it has to be on consoles, it should be next gen consoles only because if they are targeting this gen as well, it's going to hold back how much Microsoft can improve the game going forward. As for VR, to do it Justice, you'll likely need a monster of a PC for that so I'll wait it out till things get cheaper before jumping on that bandwagon.
@@paul1979uk2000 No disagreement, despite being a primarily Xbox guy who also has a PC game. This is the most ambitious game arguably since Gears of War Microsoft has done. So, they should do what's best for the project. I'm only hoping for a Series X release more so to use Flight Sim as a gauge for what the box is capable of.
When the FSX theme started playing, the amount of nostalgia that came flooding into my brain was nuts. I would sit there listening to that for hours on end trying to select what plane I wanted to fly when I was like 8 years old. Now I’m 19 and just about to do my first solo for my PPL. How time flies.
Such a great look back, i first played in FS2000 as a kid, could never figure out how to start concord but it was a fun first taste. Then i got FS2004 later on and enjoyed many hours of flying. Never played FSX but once i saw the trailers i knew i just had to get back into this. Put 50 hours in since i got it a few days ago and its one of the best most enjoyable and relaxing games i've ever played. Can't wait to see how it improves over time.
Yep I didnt think much of it ehen the trailer released. Thought it would be just an arcade game where you fly a few missions. Boi am I glad I was wrong. Im so fcking hyped. 4 more days.
Ahh the nostalgia. Reminds me when in I flew manually from London to Almeria for about 2 hours before asking my Dad to land and him forgetting to lower the landing gear. Some cherished memories with this series!
I have had every version. And still use FSX. Each of them in their own right was mindblowing at the time. But now at 56 years old, I finally have the time and the PC to play this wonderful piece of software. My first flight will be dedicated to one of my oldest friends, who, like me had a passion for flight sims. His excitement for this sim knew no bounds. Unfortunately, Cancer took him earlier in the year. So his dream for us to be both flying together again, was not to be. Godspeed old friend, I'll see you among the clouds!
Looks great! Can't wait until Monday to order and fly it. I've logged a lot of hours with the old versions. Glad Flight Simulator is being brought back to life. 14 years since version X. It's been a long time.

Hi, I think you might like my trailer on FS history ua-cam.com/video/HfgYm-jI1oE/v-deo.html
Hard to believe how far this has come
I was from the pong generation and makes me wonder how much farther we can go.
I was a little boy watching my uncle play MSF2000, ever sense I was a fan. Thank you for a great trip down memory lane.
4 more days my friends. (5 for others) Just 4 more days and we can start this amazing journey together. I can't wait to be up above the clouds! Here's to happy flying everyone!
Well beside me most likely my pc probably can’t run it and it won’t be coming to Xbox anytime soon 😔
preach bro!!!
@@FearlessNite345 It will at least be out eventually for Xbox though! :)
@@FearlessNite345 what do you mean it will be out on xbox the 18th
Well I pre ordered it but my Logitech joystick isn’t coming until September 23 😞
Such an amazing and emotional tour not just for Flight Simulator but for all of personal computing.
Every time I hear the FSX theme I get so happy
Too bad it was actually from Crimson Skies originally not FSX.
Wow that music. Goosebumps.
Yes, so nice to hear the Crimson Skies music rescored and still alive.

Such an iconic FSX tune, I become a pilot because of it
My first Flight Sim was 98 before getting into X. Looking back at all these Sims bringing back so many memories of not only what I did in the Simulator but also what was going on in my life. Oh how far we have come, it's amazing what nostalgia can do. Here's to many more great years in Flight Simulator 2020!
Predating even Microsoft windows... a very special franchise indeed!
Yes, it started from MS-DOS. Check my trailer out for more detailed upcoming history. ua-cam.com/video/HfgYm-jI1oE/v-deo.html
Technically it predates even DOS! Though it was a indie product at the time and didn't get absorbed into the MS family until after the release of DOS
It was independent well into the 80s well after DOS.
Excellent stuff! I think you would like my trailer on FS history ua-cam.com/video/HfgYm-jI1oE/v-deo.html

I wish that I can live 150 years more just to see how games will become
Maybe you will control a plane in a real-world live but no one sees your plane expect you like using signals that fly around the world
terrorists will love that game hahaha
What's the difference between a terrorist camp and a school?
I don't know, I just fly the drone.
star trek holodeck..."computer run MSFS 2170"
This has black mirror vibes haha.
A future where humans don't go outside themselves, rather they go outside in an environment just exactly how you described it, like you can see others, but when a real human comes out physically, they just see no one..
naah i guess we are going to lay in the bed and shout LINK, START!
Microsoft Flight Simulator has come a very long way. I am proud to say I am a MSFS geek when it comes to these games. I had FSX and now that MSFS 2020 has been released, I am honestly mind blown with how much work and effort was put into this game. Great job Microsft!!
the fact it started with the original music made me smile
Great job on the music. Bringing back the old startup music was nostalgic.
damn... in those last 14 years PC and not only technically and Microsoft have progressed so ahead... is just breathtaking!
not only visuals, coding, backend, frontend, database... live telemetry, satellites... servers...this is just mind-blowing!!!! 😲♥️😍👍💪

Always overcoming expectations!
Honestly it’s incredible to see how human can improve something
Unlike Bethesda
i know, i thought goats were good but dam those humans are really something.
That was awesome!! I loved seeing the progression in fidelity as the years advanced. Really cool.
I especially like the 98 version. The scenery looks just like x-plane 11 today
@@saul1344 why do you think the old x-plane farts are going to melt reading this? Can farts read?
Literally... :D
Yeah. But the flight physics sucks.
I get trained on a Level D full motion simulator to fly my real plane. Guess what software they run?
@@calvinnickel9995 Oh, poor you. Probably some outdated crap because a multi-billion corporation like Microsoft lost interest in a small niche market. But never mind, MSFS is back now so that Level D sims may in the future be run by FS2020 Pro version.
Such amazing memories. Playing flight sim 95 with my dad was the best thing ever haha. You guys are incredible, what an achievement!
AH the FSX menu music, the nostalgia holy shit
This thing just took the best of every sim out there.. all the add ons, wish-lists.. the lot.. and then went next level. Absolutely incredible.. and now that the 3rd party devs are scurrying to work and releasing content every week, the future of this thing is truly awe-inspiring! :)
i am so blown away on how they made the clouds look THAT good
2004, oh my childhood memories! Thank you, aviation! You'll always be in my heart
The difference from the one coming out and the one that last came out is REMARKABLE!! O_O
That music at the start tho brings back memories
Great that you are back and writing the next chapter of FlightSim history. This one looks so amazing. Thank you!
Same though, flying is very relaxing, hopefully my PC can run it if I get it. xD
Unless they entirely redesign the game to get it to run on base Xbox One, it will most likely only go to Series S & X. Minimum spec on PC is a GTX 1060. Don't see how they could possibly get it to run on the current Xbox, other than the X.
VR is absolutely worth it. Specially in Simulations, is a must have.
You've come such a long way. Thanks for keeping the Flight Simulator story going!
Absolutely amazing. Can't wrap my head around the dislikes at all.
Yes, dislikes just don’t make sense! Please check my trailer for more detailed history. ua-cam.com/video/HfgYm-jI1oE/v-deo.html

@@BenjaminBeckerBerlin Good one!
@@BenjaminBeckerBerlin Lol!
New theme is brilliant but the first thing i'm doing is going into the menu & changing the music to 'Legacy' ;)
Same
Thanks a lot for each member of this fabulous team! 🙂
Oversight: there was also a separate version 5.1. I think the “5.0” footage is 5.1 and 5.0 itself is missing.

Can hardly wait. Feels like forever since it was announced.
It's crazy how everyone thought, that this was just a simple trailer and the game will be lame..And now..THE GAME IS EVEN BETTER

Yep I didnt think much of it ehen the trailer released. Thought it would be just an arcade game where you fly a few missions. Boi am I glad I was wrong. Im so fcking hyped. 4 more days.
@@ciri151 yes I'm so freaking hyped too... I can't wait for the release😍
Ahh the nostalgia. Reminds me when in I flew manually from London to Almeria for about 2 hours before asking my Dad to land and him forgetting to lower the landing gear. Some cherished memories with this series!
If this game actually works and isn't MS version of No Mans Sky when it's released this may be the greatest thing MS has ever created.
It is released i think
The way it changes from fsx to fs2020 is unbelievable to anyone in the past 🔥🔥🔥 2020 will be remembered in history
_This video is extremely_ *_NOSTALGIC._*

Epic! We've waited a decade for this and looks like it was worth it!!
When they were so disappointed with Microsoft flight sim 2012 that they don’t even mention it 😂
Lmao right!!
Looks great! Can't wait until Monday to order and fly it. I've logged a lot of hours with the old versions. Glad Flight Simulator is being brought back to life. 14 years since version X. It's been a long time.
