Great vid. I was one of the “so happy this has happened but it’s not for me” brigade early based on what I was seeing. Kinda lucky I’m in Australia and we haven’t had access to it til lately because it seems to be early reviewers and shooters did follow harmons advice re scanning and got bad results, lately people are getting better results because they followed the advice. I agree we need to help here, there’s a future with Harmon colour in it if we believe. I think most of the whiners are the same people who complain about everything. Harmon have up front it’s a beta film they will keep working.

Hate the look of the film but best believe I am going to support and buy several rolls. I can’t wait for their next color film to drop, my hope is that it will only get better with time.

glad to see that you have a positive outlook. I actually like the looks of the film it is very artistic and the cool thing about film cameras you can change your sensor anytime you want. when people complain about something new that they're doing for the film community I really have to scratch my head on that I don't understand the negative thinking I see a lot of it on the forms. the first thing that comes to mind maybe they should be shooting digital. they are definitely not helping the cause

I have a feeling Santa has a few rolls ready for my stocking, and I'm excited to try it out. It looks crunchy it's dynamic range is limited, but I do like a challenge. I'm also curious to see how my lab handles it vs. my home scans. I've seen a few videos about how you can regain some range with DLSR scanning + Negative Lab Pro. I'm psyched that Harmon, with it's small team, started a new color film in 12 months. In another 12, 24, or 36+ months there's only room to improve.

I bought a couple of rolls of the Harman Phoenix film, thinking I would shoot one roll and see what was up. After seeing the few thousand review videos of it, I’ve decided to just freeze the two rolls and wait for the next batch. If I have the funds, I’ll buy more to support them. The images I’m seeing are a range of good through bad. Kudos to Harman for taking this bold step towards the future of film. I’ll look forward to more films from them over the next year or two. Maybe the “limited edition” rolls I have will become collectors items someday.. maybe not. I have tons of expired and fresh film to use in the meantime.

      why save it?

Because if you buy it now with 15$, keep it in the fridge, after 30 years, you can sell a roll for 100$

of course. it is insane to keep films for years in the fridge as an investment. for personal use, just to have a stock at hand, you can do it, but not for other things.@@tomjanowski8584

Kodak or Fuji will have to raise their price of their films far more to make Phoenix 200 competitive.

It’s not meant to competitive to them it’s a beta test film. Harmon acknowledge that. Give a couple of years more research then expect more. No one is going to compete early on with two companies that have over 50 years development lead

The problem is simply the film is way too expensive for an inconsistent, self-called beta/experimental film, full-stop.
