      @earthquake4089 Рік тому +1

      I just thought about an alternative to this true human ending that preserves the essence- since demons and angels come from the same ontology as creation, in the true ending SMT5 world they are...kind of evened out. Like taking a bunch of globs of clay into a singular one. So they are no longer individuals, and if a demon from outside that world wanted to interact with it, it'd need to dissolve into the world for the duration of the interaction until it goes away. So like demons lose their individuality within the world. Not how it goes in the game, but I think this could have been better.

    I actually really like the secret ending of smt 5. It fits with the general spirit of neutrality in smt; that being that the neutral option is implied to not be a permanent solution to the endless cycle of reincarnation and destruction. The presentation also had a lot more effort placed into it compared to the other endings.

I remember in English Literature class the history of Western storytelling has a rule of absolute endings… so an ending that is open ended is concerned “lazy.” Couldn’t disagree more. *Spoilers for apocalypse down below*
      Is that nanashi obtains godhood by killing everyone, then using the cosmic egg after defeating yhwh to create another universe. But as Stephen stated there's gonna be other messiahs coming after you since you basically went and screwed the other universe over like a tyrant, ie, you became another yhwh.
      But in this one you take the role as a creator(in law/chaos)and will basically take a more active part. Plus with nahobino being as powerful they are its a safe bet they'll be a tough one to overcome specially with having both demon and human power. He doesn't have anyone gunning for him unlike nanashi who's guaranteed to be living with the consequences that another messiah will come after him.

    Sure, great idea. That's exactly what I as a Shin Megami Tensei fan would like to see as the canon ending. To erase all the demons I came to love over the years of playing these games. Yeah, you totally get me Atlus...
    Honestly, never have I ever felt worse about a "canon" ending to a game of this magnitude. I mean, all the endings really felt the same, not gonna lie, dunno if they cut out a lot of content, but it felt either rushed or unfinished. I don't know if they don't care as much about the ending of their game, even though they did significantly better jobs with their previous titles. I really liked it's connection to Nocturne, but ultimately I enjoyed Nocturne more.
    The game is great, but if you decide to tell a story via dialogue and cutscenes but then your cutscenes are very, *very* similar and the dialogue ultimately doesn't differ in any real amount? Lucifer always says the same lines...you know, THE LAST FINAL BOSS, again and again the same lines, nothing to show you've sided with Chaos or with god, doesn't matter. Another couple points of disappointment for me:
      * I wish there was a bit more interaction with the secondary characters. I'm not looking for Persona, but I did want to know them a bit better.
      * When Koshimizu decides to turn on Bethel, I was expecting a lot of gods to show up to that meeting with Abdiel... there were only a few. Feels cheap.
      * Some parts felt a bit rushed through development. I don't even know why they bothered, for example, with a map of Tokyo given how unimportant it was to the story.
      * The endings were all pretty short and could have been a bit more dramatic. SMT Deep Strange Journey / Strange Journey Redux endings felt more epic to me.
      The level designs (except for the stupid Demon King dungeon, which was just irritating as hell) were all great, though... so much exploration.

    The true ending is the best ending. Let me explain.
    -Law pulls everyone back in the matrix,just waiting thatvit gets broken again.
    -Chaos just creates a very dangerous world where lots of people can become gods.
    -Neutral prevents any creation, dooming the world.
    -True neutral gets rid of demons and god while BREAKING THE MANDELA SYSTEM.

    The fact that the japanese keep making games where you end up fighting God, destroy it or "trying to live a life without gods" really shows that they had no idea how stupidly OP the abrahamic God is.

    • @vorpal22
      @vorpal22 2 роки тому +6

      OP as in overpowered, or something else?
      I think the SMT games show that the Japanese have a pretty good understanding of what an authoritarian dictator Yahweh and his blindly following angels are.
      In fact, one of the things I like best about SMT is how many times you get to kill this "supposedly good" god.

      You're assuming there is only one abrahamic God... When there is an entity that can just as powerful, there must be something else that created it, and one that created that one which created the abrahamic God, and the one before that, and so on.

    • @Artemisarrowzz
      @Artemisarrowzz 2 роки тому +1

      @@nejiharuno I'm assuming there's only one abrahamic God because it is described as an eternal being.
      A eternal being is outside time and encompasses everything, literally all there is is part of it yet it goes beyond it forever, be it time, space, matter or anything imaginable. There can be no beginning nor an end to it, nor anything exists outside of it because even infinity is contained inside it and it will always be infinity to infinity. And its unkillable because it is "being itself", existance. The alternative, which is nothingness, by definition cannot and does not exist

    • @vorpal22
      @vorpal22 2 роки тому +4

      @@Artemisarrowzz I do agree with you that there is really just one Abrahamic god unless you are possibly into gnosticism, but that deviates quite a bit from what people think when you mention Jews, Christians, or Muslims, who all worship essentially the same god.
      As for the rest of your post, we have no shortage of scientific models in which infinite regression is an issue: you cannot start with the axioms that an infinite regression exists, and thus god, much less Yahweh. You are just slapping a label on something that you seem to think reality needs, which it doesn't.
      The number of times Genesis alone contradicts this god's supposed omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence speaks as to its legitimacy.
      Sorry, but the correct answer was Hinduism. *sad trombone*
      (I am kidding about that last sentence.)
      Just to sum up, the "alternative" is not nothingness, and I don't know anyone who would claim otherwise. You are coming to the conclusion of god because you pose it as a false dilemma.
