"SCORCHED" LYRICS
Way down deep in the fire
Way down deep in the flame
Way down deep in the hole I dug
Way down Deep in the pain
I' a flash in your atmosphere
Atomic wind blowing into your night
Crash and burn, let me make it clear
And give 'em just a little light
Will you miss me when I'm gone
Will you kiss me at rebirth
Will you miss me dead and gone
Gone to scorch the earth
Scorch the earth, scorch your brain
Scorch your dreams and what remains
Scorch the good, scorch the bad
The best damn firestorm you ever had
Scorch the earth, scorch your brain
Scorch your dreams and what remains
Scorch the good, scorch the bad
The best damn firestorm you ever had
Way up there in the heavens
Way up beyond the sky
Way up there where God looks down
Way up where I get high
Will you miss me when I'm gone
Will you kiss me at rebirth
Will you miss me dead and gone
Gone to scorch the earth
Scorch the earth, scorch your brain
Scorch your dreams and what remains
Scorch the good, scorch the bad
The best damn firestorm you ever had
Scorch the earth, scorch your brain
Scorch your dreams and what remains
Scorch the good, scorch the bad
The best damn firestorm you ever had
Speak to me in my own tongue
Scorch the earth, all the land my son
Hide your face in the vail of shame
While cracking the whip and bringing the pain
Scorch the earth, scorch your brain
Scorch your dreams and what remains
Scorch the good, scorch the bad
The best damn firestorm you ever had
Scorch the earth, scorch your brain
Scorch your dreams and what remains
Scorch the good, scorch the bad
The best damn firestorm you ever had
Scorching the earth

43 years and still full of piss and fire ......love it !!!!!!! I'm 56 and a fan since 84
I'm 53, seen them live early 90's at a bar room in Attleboro MA, they still kick ass
@@yeahright5616 my first time was 1984 at the channel Club in Boston
Same here I'm 48 still krank this shit every day 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🇺🇸
@@joescambait I got my eye socket crushsed in Detroit best show ever 🤘🏻

I'm 55 and still headbanging to them since 1986
im 53 and a Fan since 1987. one my Favs & very under rated. i did do 2 OK Review Videos.
I just didn't do one for this Album. I do like it
Me too!
Heck yah!!! We had Jason Bittner on our show recently, and he was a remarkable guest, a lot of fun.
56 here, but still 'banging. 🤟
At 63 years old Blitz is still one of the very best singers in metal. He gargles with gravel yet is able to blend melody and ferocity in a way so few others have ever been able to do. The song is killer and the band sounds great. Another ripper from a band that refuses to get old.
He’s a great dude.
His voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Absolutely awful.
Heavy processing though
He sounds like Rob Halford with rabies. I love it!
Overkill showing more staying power than almost any band ! Long live OVERKILL.
It's never ending OVERKILL!!
That's what David Ellefson said on our show, that they've been the most conistent out of all the bands. They don't have a st anger or a risk anywhere in their catalogue
Overkill never disappoints when it comes to making great thrash metal CDs. These guys were there at the beginning of thrash and it shows. 10/10!
I like how you said CDs instead of albums. Physical media will never die \m/
@@DiminishingAugmentation - It literally died a long, long time ago lol
@@DiminishingAugmentation I say albums because it's general for all physical media :D but yeah Physical media until I die! This is also on cassette may get it on that format too lol
@@DiminishingAugmentation I own thousands of cds - LOVEM!
@@DiminishingAugmentation "Album" is still appropriate since it just means it's a collection of work.

goddamn bobby is 64 years old, let that sink in while the band has never gone on hiatus or disbanded.
these guys are extremely confident in their music and very good friends with each other to have been with each other since 1980's and onwards!
Yes! David Ellefson said that after listening to them to prepare for their tour that they are the most conistent band, no risk or st anger anywhere in their catalogue
@@TheMetalPodcast st anger would probably been a good album if it wasn't metallica! lol
I'm 54 and have been listening to this band since high school. Through all the line-up changes over the years, Blitz has kept this ship upright and NEVER compromised to the many changing musical landscapes.
48 and right there with you brother. BLITZ for sure kept the ship right.
Never compromised? Lmfao 3 words: I Hear Black
Same here.
53 and the same here. Overkill, and Testament as well, are overlooked far too much with regard to their musical influence in thrash. They may have had a lot of personnel changes over the years, but Bobby and DD kept that ship moving in the right direction. They have stayed true to trash through their entire career as much as, and probably more than, any of the other original thrash bands.
@@jcass1970 💯
This is thrash metal played properly! Overkill never disappoint.
Trash
🤘
Overkill never disappoints they are severely underrated. Overkill should've been part of the big 4 it's criminal that they're not
@I'll be damned if I ain't handsome that I can agree with
From day one they belong in the big four
@I'll be damned if I ain't handsome
including EXODUS, I see BIG5.
...And, other thrashers are still GREAT!!!
THEY ARENT SELLOUTS
Slayer, Testament, Anthrax,Overkill.
Fuck Metallica and Megadave
Together with Testament, Overkill is aging like a fine wine.
I'm glad that Overkill, Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, Kreator, AND even Metallica are still putting out music. They're all 80's Thrash legends and there's something to like from all their newest albums imo.
you've forgot Sodom !
Flotsam
Death Angel
METAL CHURCH
I like how they use hard rock in their music. That's respecting your roots

No bands like this anymore. 80s was heaven for metal
That is true!!! And they are still putting out great music! David Ellefson said on our show that Overkill is the most conistent metal band
@@TheMetalPodcast yes very true original bands like overkill stronger than ever. Example halford & priest just dropped a new album I felt was badder than ever very powerful to which I enjoyed very much 🤘💯🔥
Bobby's unique voice and the solid sound bring back memories! THRASH never dies friends! 🤘
Bobby is UDO on steroids.
thrash will never die ever
The most consistent metal band out there today. Whenever Overkill releases something, you know it's gonna kill!
I think Nonpoint is similar in that aspect too
Overkill has one of the most memorable bass lines in thrash i can ever remember. Don't get me wrong everything in this band is fantastic, but the bass guitar is a killer!
🤘
* thrash!
DD Verni is the man. His bass is very prominent and can be heard in Overkills discography.
it´s like their presentation card, just like jeff waters with annihilator and his incredible melodies and weird segments
@@pablodisconnect5551 Word !
Blitz calls it “the clank”
How TF this band doesn't play bigger venues is beyond me....!!!! They absolutely bring it....!
They F*uck Metallica in the a*s so hard that James cant sit up in 72 seasons
It’s all about being commercial and $$$$
@@johnlheneghan1630you mean success?
@@jvramirez1577 you can put it that way, look at kix, they are awesome, but that didn’t really make it over the finish line. It’s a shame. To me Overkill is a badass and the new cd is awesome.
How the fuck they can sound that good still ?! 🤘
Never let your heart get old; guess that's why Overkill's still kicking one hell of an ass)
They say, because they love what they do.
You can hear it
It’s fucking Overkill. They’ve stayed true from Day 1, that shit ain’t gonna change anytime soon.
Bittner has made them even better.
@@timyfngr79 They always had good drummers. Lipniki was a beast also.
But yes Bittner is great.
Same here almost 54 , Overkill is still by far one of my favorites . Still throwing it out of the years. Love it. My Mother says to this day. Do you still listen to that music, and I say yes I do.
For a band that's been around as long as Overkill has to release something this good is nothing short of amazing.
Overkill rules them all. This band is absolute amazing. I'm happy to live in their age.
to think metallica cant do anything like this and yet theyre the biggest

These Guy Never Sold out and still make music as hard and gritty as they ever did. Kicks ass
Hello from the gutter. \mmmm/
This is what happens when real musicians write music...a tasty intro, a bridge, verse variations, breaks, minor chorus alterations, etc... And, Bobby's voice, so distinct!
Despite their long career, Overkill has never rested on their laurels or become complacent. They continue to push the boundaries of thrash metal, incorporating new elements and influences into their music while still staying true to their roots. They are a band that has never lost their edge or their hunger, and that is why they remain one of the most respected and beloved bands in the metal community.
Best thrash band ever and they still deliver!
Jason is a phenomenal drummer no doubt, he really fits the groove that Overkill brings🤘🏻🔥
He’s one of the best!
I think Testament and Overkill hold the flag of thrash high nowadays. The same spirit and atmosphere back from 80's. Good vocals, lyrics and music. Underrated for sure. Only the "big-4" take credits.
Don't forget KREATOR
EXODUS!
@@gfgranja of course, but i talk especially for american bands in this situation. I love Kreator, they're to my top-3.

Living Legends!! Still Loud with pure heavy metal magic in hearts. I wish them 50+ years, because they still was worth to listen them after all of those 40+ years. Greetings from Poland to all Metalheads across the world.
Overkill is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Bobby and the boys never disappoint!!
"its just a phase" said my mum over 35 years ago. hahahaha, wrong, mum... its a lifestyle.
damn bobbys voice sounds as good as ever! it was one of the things that got me into overkill.
my favourite track is still Coma from Horrorscope
Horrorscope is one of the best thrash metal albums ever!
Clown, I blocked your channel for memory a week ago
crushing. I echo all the sentiments expressed here. Overkill never disappoints. Fan since 86.
I saw them at the Pine street Theater in Portland Oregon, they opened for Slayer 11/1/1986
Got to see them open up for Megadeth on the Peace Sells tour in 87'...one of the best live bands ever. Still sounds great guys, cheers!
The hardest working band in metal, and one of the most consistent in any genre.
The best damn firestorm!
Growing up in Newark, these Gus DEFINED my youth. I first saw them at L’amour in 1987, then at the Ritz about a year later when they released The Years of Decay. It’s soooo amazing to have a band THIS dedicated to bringing true metal to their fans. This is yet another phenomenal release, further placing Overkill in the ICONIC realm of musical greatness. “The Surgeon” and “Twist of the Wick” are my favorites after first few listens, and this track rips too. W O W!
Smells like metal, tastes like Overkill. Always something "new" while staying loyal to their own roots. This band is class of its own.
This is how you maintain fans.
Absolute consistency. Unlike some.
Killer album 🤘😠🤘
Yeah I have "only" been an Overkill fan since like 1992 but every time I see they have some new stuff out I know it will be good and am never wrong, haha.
This new album is EPIC!! I can't stop listening to it. Helluva great job, fellas. 🤘🤘
WoW! I'm A Fan Since 84's New York Metal
Thank you SOOOOO much for bringing this fantastic album into my life 🤘 🇵🇹
so awesome. Still so happy Jason joined on Drums. These guys have literally NEVER disappointed
These dudes never seem to fade away. Strong as can be still. True Metal Tyrants from the first album.
I've been listening to (and loving the hell out of) these Jersey devils since 1990 ... 33 years, and I just turned 48.
Overkill are the most consistent band in thrash metal history, and they NEVER disappoint!!!! MEAN GREAN 4 LIFE!! \m/
Much respect for Overkill. After all these years they are still putting out music that actually matches music that they started out with almost 40 years ago.
wow, the music is brutally amazing! Overkill and Testament continue to deliver the goods after all these years, bravo!
Fan since the 80’s. I can’t believe how good these guys still are
1 of the best live bands ever.NEVER disappoint.seen them 10x.
Overkill. Still kickin ass 40 plus years later. 😎🤘💪👊
His voice never changes.
I witnessed this with Slayer and Motorhead. One of the best shows I've seen!!!
\m/ I'm old enought o remember their first album. I remember buying it on casette. Still love these Thrash Icons!
До чего же круто! Браво! Жесткач и тяжеляк. Истинный Overkill.
62 and love overkill....can't wait till they are back in Tampa
That opening riff though. Dave Linsk doesn’t get enough props!
Got to see them yesterday and they've opened the set with Scorched. The set was amazing as always.
That intro riff is fire 🔥 !!!!!
These guys have always been consistent in making banger music. 3:20 onwards just brings back the Horrorscope vibes
God. Damn. Overkill still KILLING it after all these years.
40+ crazy
I know you, degenerate from the lower layers 🌪🕳
That guitar lead after 4,34 gave me goosebumps.
Great album as always. Overkill never disappoints. Such an underrated band. Every article I look up shows overkill has sold more albums than Anthrax. Should be in the Big 4. Best thrash band from east coast. This album has a lot of twist and turns which shows they can mix it up and not just play fast. Good job with this album
Overkill is the most consistent thrash band of all time. ❤
Props to the video production crew
The Wrecking Crew is back!!! Great song and can’t wait to hear it live!!!
Overkill rocks. Blitz is a beast on vocals.
This is an instant classic. Great record
The transition from bridge to intro was magic.
Отлично. Всех с выходом нового альбома!
Класс! Супер! Но черт их дернул выпустить альбом в один день с Metallicой ,все внимание на них :(
@@GENblCH да, жаль металлику! Останется без внимания(
Been jamming to Overkill since Taking Over. Blitz has been awesome everyone I met him or watched them play. DD bass shredding has always been intense. I see a million views. I hope overkill gets radio play and recognized for the “Years of Decay” they have put into there music. Spread the word or get scorched!
Heck yah!!! We had David Ellefson on our show recently and he was really praising Overkill's career. Also loved having Jason Bittner on our show as well, great interviews!
Holy crap. They sound as good as ever! With production as killer as ever too: there's that distinctive bass we've come to know & love in Overkill songs (& be able to HEAR in this style of metal). Another savage speedmetal song from masters of the craft.
Thrash will never Die with Overkill in charge. We need a Aussie tour in 2023.🤘🤘🤘
OVERKILL AT THEIR BEST!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!
dear Lordy how can they keep getting better and better. Bobbys voice is pure venom.
I got to meet DD Verni at an Overkill show in ‘86, I think. He was very kind. It looks like he is playing a left handed bass in this video. I’ll take that as a tribute to our meeting as I’m a left handed guitar player, lol. Overkill is still killing it!
From Feel The Fire to Scorched, Overkill *ALWAYS* delivers. Here's to another 40yrs!! 🤘🤘
@Overkill Another Scorcher of Metal From The band that gives it 110% of Metal Absolutely Awesome 🤟🤟🔥🔥The neighbors love the album too
From the beginning it was Overkill in Mainz, Germany in 1986!
Mainz went Deaf after that meltdown!
These guys are the Original Speed Thrash Metal God's!
They are just Timeless!
Not many groups around there being able to make every album and every gig amazing. OVERKILL are in my heart decades ....
This band has been part of my life since I was 17 back in the early 90s and they never dropped the ball.
So freakin' good! Can't wait to hear the rest!
Scorched is a true thrash album every tune is killer
Hell no! Nobody drives home the metal like these dudes do. Jamie the man.
What an amazing and modern sound that sounds young and dynamic...unlike another veteran thrash band that released an album today. Having a world class drummer like Jason Bittner also makes a huge difference.
How do they just keep getting better with every album?!
Back in the 80s my best friend and I loved Over Kill and we always screamed "Over kill will never die" ... and so it is!!!
That's how the bass should sound!🤘
Overkill still the greatest!! And that bass!! D.D. still has it!!!
I gave this a try after listening the new metallica in which i wasn't amuse .These guys been around forever and they are like fine wine
Overkill never die!
I used to sing "Power, building up...Power! You feel it...a Power surge!" as cadence in the Army in the cold mornings in Korea. This new track rocks. Definitely picking up this album and will check out the tour if you come to TX.
This is how old school thrash is done! Overkill on the throne!!
Just a few more hours until the CD arrives in the mail. This song is excellent.
I don't care how formulaic Overkill and Kreator are, I love it!
Overkill amazing,,👍👍👍
Overkill is slamming it! 🤘 Keeping the thrash metal genre alive. Living up to their name. Great song.
