I switched to this head set from a cheap Chinese amazon set because of the JBL speakers. It is night and day. I really like this head set. I listen to music while riding my MT 10 stock exhaust so my bike is very quiet and this head set can be heard at highway speeds and beyond very clearly.

I have the original 4 and I have to press the volume on the phone to override the preset volume for earphones !! This makes it loud enough to listen to audiobooks and anything I want even at high speeds on German autobarns, I love the cardo scala I have had about 4 of them to use on my kids helmets they have all lasted well over 7 yrs and not a problem!! Now my kids dont come with me anymore I have given them to my mates they all love them !! Happy days

Just bought the Cardo Freecom 4+ on my Shoei Neotec 2 ditching the made-for Sena SRL and man no regrets doing so. The Natural Voice Commands really sealed the deal!

Hi there. How did the install of the Cardo onto the Neotec go? I want to get a Shoei GTAir-II and install a Cardo Packtalk Bold but I'm worried that it won't fit well because of the mounting spot for the SRL2.

I have the same helmet and I intend to do the same thing. How can you mount cardo instead Srl, did you remove the Sena from the helmet?
@@luigi.V I don't have the Sena installed. My Cardo is just double-sided taped slightly rear of where the Sena is supposed to mount.
Set your phone up for volume by overriding the safety volume it works a lot better , I can hear it at any speed

I have the v6 pro twin pack after using them one time the second unit blue tooth cannot find it , but the other unit has loud audio and is working ok all i did to clean up the audio is spray the speaker contact with electrical contact cleaner worked a treat now the Audio is great .
Hey Mathew....I just ordered one of these and installed it on my new motovlogging helmet. I did a test ride with it today, made a phone call, sent a text using voice feature, and jammed to some local fm music, I too was against listening to music when riding but I absolutely love it--it is easy to love this thing! You got a like and a sub from me. Great video my friend!

Great review just truth to the fact that this device can eject from the helmet if finger rolls onto the tab that’s in front that holds the device in place be sure to keep your fingers away from that front tab. Also well riding in high winds the Cardo fails to pick up voice commands at times.

We're going to do a follow up review (1 Year later).. let me know if you have any questions you'd like us to address.
We are 4 friends with freecom 4 and 4+. Last years firmware 4 was a withdrawn, was downgradef to 3. A nightmare because it was almost impossible to connect the group and if maybe 2 or 3 managed to connect it was lost when we got 200m from each other.
We all upgraded to fw 3.6 this year and it is worse range and interconnectivity.
And we spent a lot of time.
My 4+ is great for my phone to talk in phone but even the JBL speakers are to low for any audio book. You can hear music it is relatively unenjoyable.
And my new is Samsung S10e can't connect to it all.
So now it is useless in all sense of the word.
And I am no noobie to tech stuff.
Really hope for a new fw.

Can you listen to music, the voice instructions of Google Maps or Waze, and then talk to other Cardo Device? Someone mention that if someone talk to you outside of your bike the Cardo open the mic so you can hear him trhough the earpads?
Hi Ada.It really depends on your setting and how you prioritise intercom/background music etc .
Does this have mesh technology where multiple riders can speak all at the same time?
Up to 4 riders but not mesh technology. I honestly wouldn't buy Cardo Again.
Can you use the voice commands for Google Assistant or Siri as well?
Hi Tommy. Google assistant definitely works in my personal experience. I don't have an iPhone but I've read that it will work. My cousin has an iphone and hes found the voice commands don't work as well for him but it could be better after the firmware update.

All good. Make sure you update the firmware too. Just jump on to the Cardo web site, download the relevant version for your unit and follow the instructions that pop up.

did not mention how easy it is to touch wrong button and have your device roll down the road.
I've heard this can happen and have been very careful.
Then I must be in bad luck.
Voice commands don't work on 1 unit for some reason.
Have a look at the language and settings. But possibly a faulty unit...
Nice video, but the sound... you killed me trying to ajust the volume up and down to get the correct volume to hear you properlly

In my experience, it's about 1km provided you have line of sight. It can use the mesh system to get further but I only use it when I ride with my cousin... The BT interphone had better range.

I have bell qual dlx which is made for sena, but everything I read says music quality is much better on the cardo.. is this correct??

I haven't tested the Sena extensively having only used one once on a friend's helmet.
The music quality is pretty good on the Cardo. You may find that if the Bell is made for Sena, you'll get a better fit whuch could yield a better result for audio. I prefer the overall design and usability of the Cardo.
@@TheDeepPlanet I think if I mount the sena to the bell's recess, it's going to open up more wind noise
I also highly recommend using earplugs to cut wind noise, make the speakers much more audible.
is it able to play spotify or it only plays music stored in your phone's media player?
Hi Steve. Spotify works great!! You may need to set it as default. Ride safe.
No it doesn’t.you can hear from Spotify but not on the maximum Bluetooth volume because the unit cannot handler it.you get distortion instead.you have to lower the volume in order to listen properly.finally the speakers are not as great as advertised.yes they are better than some Chinese,but after 3 months of usage,the right one makes an annoying noise.better buy something cheaper

@Wilbert Maas Hi Wilbert. I can't remember exactly how I did it but I think I just opened Spotify once the Cardo was connected with the app and it recognises that as your preferred media player. Give that a try and let me know how you go. You'll find the voice commands in the "help" menu in the Cardo app. I had to play around with the audio sensitivity to get it working well.
can you can connect cardo to your old intercom?
I haven't tried but the manual says you can... Have you had any luck?

Nous sommes un groupe de trois motards ayant acheté le même
intercom (Freecom 4 plus). Impossible d'avoir plus de trois cents mètres de
portée malgré plusieurs essais sur différentes routes. De plus si le
"maitre" est devant alors le dernier du groupe est souvent déconnecté
(sans reconnexion automatique quand il revient à portée du premier). Le son est
très bon quand on est à vue les uns des autres en plaine mais se dégrade
fortement dès qu'il y a un obstacle.
De plus le service après-vente contacté plusieurs fois n'a
pas été à la hauteur. Leur dernier mail en réponse à une proposition de notre
part d'un échange pour le modèle supérieur à été : Nous ne pouvons rien pour
vous, achat sur Amazon, vous avez dû être mal conseillé dans votre choix
...". Un véritable scandale au vu du prix de ce matériel !
Yes, the range is not great and the Frecom 4+ does not have the "mesh" technology which is supposed to help larger groups stray in touch over a longer distance.

I haven't tried the Sena extensively ( just on one short ride and it was good). To be honest, my cheap BT interphone model had great range and ok audio for talking /GPS. I don't mind the Cardo as I ride solo most of the time...
