Right with you. They are touring in Australia at the moment so gave it a listen again. Goddam that Album speaks to me more now than in the 90’s, truly amazing piece of musical genius. They didn’t disappoint live, truly memorable.
The whole album is a goddamn masterpiece. Literally still the most beautiful rock album I have ever heard. The whole thing is like a dream set to a rock band
I saw them play in Sydney earlier this week and they were totally amazing. Was awesome to see Eric playing and Perry's voice was fantastic. Hats off to Josh though - he clearly did heaps of preparation for the tour and nailed the songs in a way that was familiar to those that have heard their live recordings from the original Ritual tour. It would be great to hear about how he prepared for this.
So touching for Erik A to be back on the line up. The bands not the same without him. Although Dave’s not there this performance was great because of Erik A and Stephen Perkins grooves.

my absolute favorite JA song. Perry hasnt tried once the whole tour to hit ANY high note, ever, on any song. he quit and seems to have turned into a 90 year old Matadoor and not a rock star anymore. Sorry........I need to go now and watch the LIVE from Milan video of this song..right now..., to cleanse me from this horror show.
Perry is in his mid 60s. He has had surgery that involved his larynx being removed and then reinserted. How many singers can you name from back in the 80s, particularly ones that sang in a style that was less than kind to the vocal chords (think Axel Rose, David Lee Roth, Vince Neal) that can still belt out the tunes they way they did 40 years ago? They're all absolute garbage. He can't hit the same notes, and belt out the same screeches he did when he was young, but he seems to know his outer limits, and respects them, and still puts on a great performance that respects the music they wrote. As for his attire, have you paid attention to him over the past 40 years? He has always had an unconventional sense of style, and one that evolved over the ages. Personally, I think a man in his mid 60s trying to rock long green dreds down his back, wearing a corset, nylons, booty shorts, and a funky hat would look even more ridiculous. I saw JA live in 1988, 1990, 1991, 2001, 2009, 2022. Nothing compares to 1990, when they just exploded after Ritual, but were still booked at small theaters (a close second was 1988 opening for Iggy Pop). But drug fueled insanity and youthful energy only last so long. Every show I've seen has been amazing. Even when I saw them last year, it was still better than most bands I've seen in their prime.
Jesus Christ why on earth can you not sing this song like the original? I've watched 10 UA-cam videos spanning 20 years and you butcher this song every time. So sad.
I’d much rather hear Perry take some artistic liberties and bring it down a register than to hear him strain to try to sound like he did 30 years ago. They seem comfortable and happy up there for the first time in a really, really long time.
Perry looks hideous. Totally lacking the intensity from the past. Fiddling with the tablet instead of being the screaming banshee that made Jane's great. No spirit. No intensity. This looks like a revenue tour.
He doesn't need the money. Lollapalooza is killing it overseas. He's doing this for the fans and his bandmates. Listen to the song from 'the great escape artist' called 'the underground' and you'll see why.
