Thanks for watching this one too! Even with the rainy weather most days I was in that area, it was enjoyable and the Fall colors were impressive still. It did appear you hit that area just right for the weather and colors. BTW, a segment of the Tellico River Road will be closed starting in the Spring of '23 to replace the bridge at Bald River Falls. I'll be heading to the Citico Creek area and back to the Cataloochee Valley again in April.
@@DrJohn493 Wow that's a pretty busy road to close. Every time we passed those falls it was jammed packed full of cars and people checking out the falls. North River Rd. was closed when we were up there which kinda bummed us out. I had planned to camp somewhere along it and also wanted to check out Donley cabin. But that pushed me north and we ended up finding a wonderful campsite on Doublecamp creek rd. So all work out for the better. Hope you have fun in April there.
@@GetOverItOutdoors I also understand some kind of viewing area may be constructed at the falls to help control the crowds, but yes that is a busy road to shut down as popular as it is. I still want to go back and drive all the way up to Whigg Meadow. Or maybe backpack up instead.
You had some yucky weather but you also had some nice weather at times. Really noticed the variations in the Fall colors based on your elevation on all those roads. - Ivan might want to consider stopping sticking his tongue out at passerby’s. 😁 Thanks for posting, John.
This is the exact area we were in when we hit the leaf change this year. It so beautiful along the Cherohala Skyway. We can’t wait to get back here.
