ooh in one of your older videos you watch the performance piece named Frankenstein and were amazed at the electronic effects, maybe check out some of Jeff Frankenstein's work and see if you like it? :D
This might be the single greatest performance I've ever seen. Like, it's on par with Tina Turner rocking Proud Mary or Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii. Ren is just stupid with it
I’ve seen this performance about 500 times but I can always watch this all the way through. Seriously one of the best and most enjoyable performances I’ve watched
He's obviously not jamaican, obviously not black, but holy shit, he hits all the right notes, all the right vibes, all the right everything. This is FIRE!
The United Kingdom has a very specific relationship with reggae over the past 30+ years. (Edit: more like 50+ years. Partially beginning with the 1972 film "The Harder They Come". Vinyl was often pressed in the uk, from Jamaican tape, then sold in the uk AND shipped backed to Jamaica for the dancehall parties. That is one of my most favorite bits of music history knowledge. And a more full version of that story is absolutely amazing. So many goats and awesome players.
@@nem447 Medleys and what not has been mainstream for a long while. What is impressive about Ren is his respect for music history and absurd levels of skill in the genres he dabbles in. Perhaps the sample culture and dj culture gave him a leg up also. He can remix songs almost on the fly, yet with all original sound(and with a band or beatmaker). That is definitely impressive af.
I've been rocki'n with Ren since I first heard him and Sam Tompkins busking performances. He's one of the few truly generational talents we have in music right now. This guy can do it all and he can write as well as he can play and sing. A true blessing to watch, listen and enjoy
Absolutely, the guy is so diverse , talented and original its a crime he isnt getting anywhere near the exposure his talent deserves and says everything about the doldrums music is in now
THIS. THIS is music at it's finest & purest. Raw, unfiltered and pure passion, unlike the utter trash of today that is played mainstream day in and day out. Ren should be a global superstar but yet here he is just blessing us with street performances and youtube music vids that are all straight 🔥 dude is literally a once in a lifetime talent on so many levels.
Ren is a member of "The Big Push;" it is not his band. "The Big Push" (Ren Gill, Gorran Kendall, Romain Axisa, and Glen Chambers) busking sessions, concerts, and live recordings all are amazing and well worth checking out. All but the drummer sing lead vocals at times. Their covers of "Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard," "Watch Out," “War Pigs,” “Roadhouse Blues,” "My Generation," “Paint It Black,” "An Englishman in New York," “Bongo Bong” are awesome. On “These Boots Are Made For Walking,” “Praise You” (Fatboy Slim Cover), “What Kind Of Woman Is This,” all three take a turn singing. The songs "Oh My Woman," “Swan Song,” “Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," “Dignity,” and so many others are equally impressive. The band, at least for the time being, performed their last official busking session and gave their last concert in September of last year (2022) due to the fact that Ren was leaving for Canada to undergo specialized medical care and surgeries for his multiple health issues. Ren’s Hip Hop/Rap style songs are all worth checking out if you enjoy this genre; they are pretty amazing. Check out “The Hunger,” “Genesis,” “What You Want,” “Losing it (FISHER rap retake),” “Right here, right now (Fatboy Slim one shot retake),” "Life is Funny," “Love Music (Parts 1, 2, and 3),” “Crucify Your Culture,” “Power,” his latest release, “Bittersweet symphony (The Verve retake),” and his latest release "The Illest Of Our Time," just to name a few. Ren's performances with Sam Tompkins (“Blind Eyed,” “Earned it /Mans World / Falling,” “Walking on the moon/No Diggity,” “Feeling Good/Trouble So High/Masterblaster (Jammin'),” “Latch,” “What Went Wrong” Part I&II) are definitely a must. Also, his collaborations with Eden Nash (“Humble,” “Ocean”), Bibi (“Crutch,” “Ahiahiaoha”), Molly McKinna (“Penitence”), Orlean ("Jessica"), his former bandmate Romain Axisa (“French Song”), are all great. Last but not least, Ren’s busking sessions with Liv Sangster are awesome. I recently discovered that Ren also recorded a cover of “Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover),” that is simply beautiful.
Alright! You’ve finally worked your way to another Ren reaction! I’m not sure but I think this may be only your second or third Ren reaction. Just so you know, this means that at best, big man, you’ve only dipped your big toe down into the very deep and diverse Ren rabbit hole. I’m sure other Ren song requests have been flying in, but your next Ren reaction should depend on what vibe you are looking for, storytelling, upbeat singing, ballads, political commentary, rap and/or hip hop. He does it all. I think you would really appreciate Ren and his buddy Sam Tompkins busking out “Earned It / It’s a Man’s World / Falling”.
Oh, thank you so much for your great reaction!! I so love this performance. It's brilliant! I watch it at least once a day! 😄 Ren is a great singer, and The Big Push was great too.
I love going back through all of these reactor videos that I haven’t caught before, just watching people realize how amazing of a challenge is, it’s really awesome.
I just LOVE Ren with his band "The Big Push" ! I really hope the band gets back together when Ren finishes in Canada ! I KNOW they would go right to the top !I know they all have solo stuff too but.....I hope they all have time along with their solo careers !
Bro never ever heard of these dudes dang the arrangements on this song changing it up was wow it forces you to just bounce and stank face bc it’s so good. Props to Big Push
You know someone is going to be a phenomenon when they’re both good and different. REN and his band are really good, and there is nothing else like them. Legend in the making. 👊🏼😎
I wonder what Ren would say if he heard you say "If you didn't know it wasn't his song, you would believe it was" To me, that sounds like the greatest compliment anyone can get. Someone believing they embody the great Bob Marley himself. Amazing reaction as always
Every song I hear from Ren seems to be better than the last, and I don’t know how that’s possible. But it’s true. And he lifts every single copyright claim. He WANTS people to react and share his music. He’s changing the game, and a breath of fresh air. The Ren rabbit hole goes DEEP! Stay in it, people WILL watch.
The joy I'm getting from this performance its freakn crazy! I cant stop watching it! The energy was amazing! This is the best live performance I've seen in years
When I tell you I am obsessed with this video! I have watched it no less than 20 times today alone, I’ve been watching reaction videos all night at work and I’m about to finish a 13 hour shift! Ren is so freakin’ talented it’s unbelievable. I’m so proud of the UK right now with Ren and Sleep Token absolutely killing it here! Loved the reaction, gonna subscribe and watch more of your videos before I finish work. Love working alone 😂😂 Much love 🖤
Yeah just come from original live recording on Utube again And I really love his talent Ren is the Man Romain goes great they all go absolutely crazy cool 😎 😊❤
You would definitely love their live cover of Manu Chau's "Bongo Bong". It's amazing. Love the reactions, dude. You always have such a positive attitude. ❤

Romain Axsia’s solo was 🔥. You should check out his solo stuff. Everyone in The Big Push is so talented. I love that people finding REN’s work has brought a whole new appreciation of The Big Push.
Jemel, my enjoyment of your reaction to this video was only exceeded by the quality of Ren and his band's performance. Pretty amazing, but that's what he is. Couple that with your obvious intelligence, it all makes for a very solid package! Subscribed a while back.
I'm so happy you got to see him with his band, I knew you would love this experience. This is one of my favorite day's of the band busking. They were playing 🔥🔥all day. Here are the other clips of that set in order of how the played these songs. After "I Shot The Sheriff" they played The Big Push - War Pigs (Black Sabbath cover) ua-cam.com/video/azAD9KE9HKE/v-deo.html Ren starts joking to the audience that after that nice massage with the reggae that the band should give them a nice kick in the face with some Black Sabbath lol. then they played an original single that they had just released. The Big Push - Watch Out (live busking) ua-cam.com/video/x0YPR4wX2rg/v-deo.html by the time they played this the street was closed off by the police because so many people had come to see them. Enjoy. Happy B-day to Ren and congrats on the release of his new single "illest Of Our Time". And praying his treatments are working and going well in Canada. Cheers
I love all of these, it must have been an amazing experience to be there. I can’t believe I’ve just found Ren or The Big Push in just the last month. Thanks Jamel. First heard this band thanks to you. Now spent 2 days listening to anything I can find from Big Push. Awesome talent and entertainment value.
