'American Idol' star Syesha Mercado fights for custody of children

- Instead of singing lullabies, Syesha Mercado's voice is filled with heartache and tears. The former ‘American Idol’ star and her partner, Tyron Deener, said they want their two children back after the state removed them from their custody.
Last week, a judge issued an order for authorities to pick up the couple's newborn daughter, named Ast Sba. On Instagram, Deener recorded as deputies and Child Protective Services stopped the couple. The case goes back to late February, when Mercado and Deener brought their first child, 13-month-old Amen'Ra, to John Hopkins All Children Hospital. At the time, Syesha, pregnant with her daughter, could barely produce breastmilk. Her son Amen'Ra was having a hard time transitioning from her milk to solid foods. Concerned doctors called the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Attorneys said the children are together in the care of an "estranged family member." More: www.fox13news....

I stand with Syesha and her family, return their beautiful children to them.
How does this happen to a woman who was granted 2 keys 🔑 to the city? That Dr has numerous lawsuits against her, how has she not been removed from her position? Definitely a legal kidnapping situation!!! What happend to 2nd opinions? How is this Dr the end all be all of child abuse; she sounds culturally incompetent, misinformed and biased!!! Put this family back together!!!

@@Justice4some not true.... this woman is hell on any family, There is a white man in prison right now bc she said he hit the child, when he literally choked on a pear... that came out of the child's mouth on the way to the hospital. Yet he got 10 years (Tyler Rosselot), Dr. Brown and his wife Tara... their case was finally dismissed. I can name 6 more cases, all white.... and that this pos has destroyed their families she by reaching hard on these cases.... She is trying to make a name for herself.... and I can give her a great name...but it is not YT friendly.

True but she waited too long and that why the child was taken not just because it had difficulty. Anyone with a brain would have taken their child to a doctor before getting malnourished.
@@CrystalAlyse Nope, the real story is that the parents are vegan and were giving the toddler only plants. That is why the doctors wanted to give the boy a B-12 shot a nutrient ONLY found in animal foods and a deficiency in this nutrient leads to mental illness. The toddler is now with a non-vegan family member and he has gained weight and is thriving. So, the problem was the parents unwillingness to feed their toddler animal foods.
@Stephanie You didn't follow the story at all if you think they took the baby for no reason. B-12 is an animal product. Even if the husband was there they were no going to agree to B-12.
It was said they took the baby because it was failing to thrive, the 13 month old toddler couldn't walk or talk and the baby weighed 15 pounds.
The parents aren't the issue here, it's that a baby gets healthy and NOW with the omnivore diet, which is our species specific diet, the baby is gaining weight and thriving.

Why didn’t the pediatrician just recommend placing her son on formula like they normally advise mothers to do that don’t produce enough breast milk? Simple solution. I pray that she gets her babies back.

The thing no one talks about: they're against formula because they're vegan.

It is insane that people get together (CPS) and study cases, gain certifications, then collectively believe that they can rightfully express authority that supersedes that of parents - especially perfectly sane and responsible parents like these.
Then, their babies are gone for so long, with people that they don't know or trust, feeding them whatever they want, etc.. again, it's completely insane.
CPS workers extor children and gain bonus for every child they take. In Texas they have been caught and fined for fabricating lies on the parents. Did people even know every hospital has a CPS office in that facility?

They can be as vegan as they want, but they can't feed a vegan diet to their kids.
Amen Ra was malnourished, they are just afraid the same thing might happen to the infant.
There are plenty of people and babies that have a vegan diet & lifestyle that are healthier than meat eaters. I know quite a few of them. Some of the children are now grown men & women. By the way, they contribute wonderful things to this planet, as well. One is a physical therapist, another is a sports therapist. I know quite a few others. Their moms & dads where vegan before conception and during. Vegans have been given a bad rap so people don't know you can have a healthy lifestyle without the harm and ingestion of animals.

Why was the first baby taken to the hospital and how long was he in the hospital? It says he was transitioning from breastfeeding to bottle feed at 15 months. 15 month old babies are eating other food besides bottles and breast milk they eat regular foods as well. So was he under weight? Just a question not accusing.

And changing him from milk to food at 15 months old ?? He should’ve had his first solids between 6-8 months old roughly which would explain why he might be malnourished especially if he wasn’t even getting any milk because she dried up!

How dare our government rip babies from mothers when this is a common thing for a mother to not be able to produce enough breast milk. This has happened to me!! My baby drank small amounts just very often but not enough to for me to keep producing milk. She loved her baby enough to breast feed which is more than I can say for a lot of woman. A lot of woman use drugs and get free formula from our government to feed their kids. She did not do this bc she was sober and wanted her babies to have the best nutrients possible. I was worried my baby 17 years ago was drinking enough breast milk and the doctor told me they will eat when they are hungry. So why is this couple who you can tell are sober snd loving parents being discriminated against??????? May God bless this whole family and do what is best for all God’s children. 😇🙏🌈

How come they are not mentioning that the parents had their babies on a strict vegan diet? The baby in this video is 13 months old, not a baby at all but a toddler. A toddler that couldn't walk or talk. They wanted to start giving the baby B-12 shots (A nutrient ONLY found in animals foods) and the parents wanted to wait. The baby couldn't wait because he was dying. This toddler was dying, who cares if the parents are hurt! Stop hurting your baby!!

2 sides to every story. It's a bit concerning that had an order to take a newborn, alongside her oldest. It doesn't happen for fun, there'd a reason that they're not saying to look innocent.
Incorrect. They knew she was pregnant when they took the first one. This was planned and they plotted for that moment. How else would the cops have found them if they weren't keeping tabs and planning for this moment. You conveniently skip over the part where the woman in charge has been apart of many situations where she incorrectly judged the welfare of the child. Many cases were dismissed and the children had to be returned. The fact you want to blame this on an innocent family is exactly what's wrong with this world. If this wasnt kidnapping why did they not seek to leave the children w extended family which is the FIRST STEP. They instead chose to bypass that and take them straight to Foster care and refused to notify the family lawyer. This is kidnapping plain and simple and ppl like you w that mindset are fucked up individuals.

Therefore, CPS issued a warrant for the removal of that child. If you are too stupid to properly care for your children., you don't need them. That baby was undernourished and the mom wanted to experiment with his health. You can't play with lives like that. Not saying they were bad parents but ignorance is no excuse for abuse.

Hospitals and doctors have a right to report a child that they feel is neglected or abused and clearly the doctors felt like their son was at risk of possibly dying in their care because of that also once you already have a report with child services if you have other children they will investigate the safety in welfare of those future children so unfortunately until the first report is investigation and all cleared up they will automatically take away any future children from any parent
Definitely not a doctor who has MULTIPLE cases of incorrectly judging the welfare of children and definitely not a hospital who hires doctors of those types. They also have the right to investigate or maybe simply at least ASK questions before labeling them as “unfit”, because had they SIMPLY ASKED they would have been proven WRONG for saying it’s “medical neglect” since the mother seeked “medical attention” TWICE before going to the hospital.
You are right thought, they do have the right to do that. But not a smart comment under a situation where the people are clearly being WRONGED BY THESE “RIGHT” and where these “RIGHTS” ARE BEING ABUSED.
The child was health and not dying under their care, if you cared so much to comment then you should have cared so much to look into the family a little more and just one little trip to their Instagram page would of changed what you comment.

@@jarelystorres6577 that baby never looked over a year old on the Instagram page. Of course the parents will show a cute and happy baby online. This baby would've probably died and these parents would've just created that gofundme page to raise money for a funeral. The only heartless people I see are parents who would allow a child to be on the verge of death. This is not the 17th century. There are too many alternatives to allow a baby to die if you're not producing breastmilk.
They fed the baby vegan, he was really unhealthy, too small and too light. This was the good thing to do.
Visiting nurses and home health aids are suppose to be offered to families that need support before taking the child.

All human beings should understand without question the #1 crucial priority is a child's well-being. They cannot take care of themselves and should not have to suffer at the hands of adults if that is the case. So for all the people who said this was a personal attack on them because of the couple's belief should be ashamed. I'm not a big fan of CPS but the doctors are experienced enough to know what's going on! So FOR ME, I agree with them taking the kids away especially when a baby is severely underweight! Too many young people today go for radically belief systems that are extreme and unfortunately they force their kids to endure this! Many people today talk about the their traumatizing childhoods on and offline. Some people really should never have babies/children when they only bring them harm instead of good. Too many tragic stories like this and in some stories the child/children demise.
Personally, me being claircognizant this is what I see. Syesha has chosen the wrong man to be with and have kids with. He does not treat her and the kids right. He put his own selfish needs above theirs. He is not a good provider. If he is not willing to marry you or is afraid of marriage he is a little boy. If a man does not think a woman is worthy of marriage then she should walk away from him. She would respect herself as a queen and say I deserved respect. He he truly loves her then he would not fear marrying her knowing it will only make their love stronger in the most healthiest way. I just walk about from my boyfriend who is like this. I realized just how much of a momma's boy he is and that he was not dreaming of making a commitment but wanted to place house like these people. This means, like this man he can walk away from his responsibilities any time he wants. A real man of integrity will ask for your hand in marriage. He's not afraid to make that commitment with you because he knows you are worth it an more. I told my now ex, I want more and deserve more. He still wanted to be "player of the year" so I ended things. I love him still but I love and cherish myself more. He wants me back desperately because no woman has ever been care about his well-being and loved him unconditionally. I know my worth and what I bring to the table. I will wait for a man that will appreciate the tender, loving caring woman that I am. The man who can say I love you, marry me and mean it. At least I have Godly Wisdom, Integrity, Discernment, life experience and common sense to know better than to make this costly mistake.
