Wait is that the circle thing? Can you explain its purpose to me because I saw it listed as an accessory for several winders but none of the listings explained what you do with it
@@felicia_clarice It's my understanding that a swift is mainly used with hanks of yarn. You open the hank & put it on the swift to wind into a cake. I don't think it can be used with a skein.
@@felicia_clarice it's used primarily for hanks, some some skein-like objects can also be untwisted onto them. They hold the yarn in a large circle, and freely spin in an elevated position to make winding even easier. You won't need a hand to hold the hard that's fed in, and it helps to prevent tangling.
Its not good to store yarn in cakes or balls. You should store them in hanks or skeins instead. The tension is more relaxed on the yarn in a hank or skein . You can also get a more relaxed tension on your cakes by winding them twice.
You do need a swift. If you have hanks of yarn to wind it will be a big help. Otherwise it is useless. If you want to see an absurd amount of yarn come to my yarn room. I do multiple yarn crafts and I teach all of them to kids ages 6 to 18.
The wall is pretty.
Aww thanks!
You need a swift. Game changer
