Super helpful!! Ive been getting into tufting and really enjoyed this video! You should make a second one as newer acrylic yarn brands drop. Definitely educational and helpful so thank you!
I'm just about to start tufting, ordered most of the stuff, just wanted to do some research on yarns, this video is an amazing comparison resource, thanks for posting!
i did some research on tufting and stuff and found you. I realised with this video how small your account is at this point. I crochet and didnt realize how different yarn brands can be. Thanks for this Video.Looking forward for your next videos
I’m a knitter personally, so I don’t know a thing about tufting and can’t appreciate the information in this video like your fellow tufters can, but I definitely appreciate the effort this took. I have a question for you: you mentioned tufting by hand; how do you do that? It might make a good video idea! Congrats on 300! 👏🏽
Thank you so much for your comment! I know it’s not the most HD video but I put a lot of love into it so that means the world to me! And yeah I actually do have a hand tufting tool it’s basically a big hollow needle with a wood handle and a little eyelet to feed yarn it def takes a lot longer but I’ll make sure to cover it!
I’m late to this video, but thanks for making it. I’m very new to tufting and really struggling with the yarns. The gun only seems to work with the cheapest acrylic yarn. Anything else doesn’t cut it feed properly - do you make adjustments to your gun for each of the different yarn types? The worst for me so far is the cotton…
Nice comparison. I appreciate your work on this. A minor detail I noticed though.I didn't find these brands in EU. Are you sure this isn't a list of every brand in the US or am I missing something here?
Hey so I got the winder on Amazon it’s called the “YaeTek Hand operated yarn ball winder” and the spools I 3D printed and just looked up yarn winder spool to find the right size. Happy tufting!
Hello.. I am from india and most of the yarn you suggested are not available or too expensive here... Can you suggest what ply yarn to use, or what type of material is best, so that i can find something similar in indian market..
Hello I’m sorry to hear that, so in my research I believe one source suggested that my favorite yarn brands are typically 3 ply and the material for rug tufting that works best in my experience is acrylic. Best of luck finding the right yarn for your tufting journey !
Hello thank you so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed 🤙🏻 so my top rated and suggested yarn is always gonna be the Big Twist Acrylic brand , then the Caron One Pound, and finally the Red Heart Super saver brand. I know in the video I had a couple brands rated slightly higher (such as the Patons wool and the Eddie Bauer) but they’re not always available and probably not thick enough for regular use in my experience.
I just started Tufting so this is very helpful I appreciate you taking the time to do this. 😊
Hey nice job getting started in tufting! Best of luck on your journey and I appreciate you watching!
I’d love to see how these do after trimmed and sculpted

I love that idea thank you so much for watching! I’ll def keep an eye out for new brands!
I want to start doing the same, is the pistol with ali express good to start with?
Hey I got mine from Amazon so I’m not 100% sure but it’s probably the same quality since I think that’s where these Amazon pages get them most times!
Great vid man, thanks for making it!
I found this video very informative. Thank you. Subscribed
