you should put a large basket in the basement next to the stairs so you can throw your dirty laundry in the basket, you can immediately take the basket to the washing machine (you won't have to pick it all up from the floor)
Dear Gittemary, sometimes I hate playing your videos in the “background” because they are just so darn good that I have to stop and look at everything. I end up getting nothing done and watching your videos instead-very inspiring home decor ideas. I love your decor style and approach for acquiring. Thanks for the captivating content. 🥰
Hi Gittermary! You don't need to remove the panels to check for moisture. Most contractors have tools that can sense moisture without tearing anything out. You could probably even borrow or rent one!
We diy a lot of things around our house. FB market place has been a life save for furnishing our son's room before his arrive in July (my husband bragged that I got his crib, dresser, electric swing, some clothes, his bath bassin, bassinet, and more odds and ends for free, which would have cost us hundreds otherwise). If molly needs more rugs to get around go by the local carpet store. My husband re did the lining in his truck for free just by going by one and asking if they had scraps. They were more than happy to give it to him for free because it would have cost them money to throw it away. I've also seen people turn wood pallets into vertical garden space by turning them on their sides, which I think would look great as a kitchen herb garden, or shelving for items as well. Good luck!
Omg the orange mirror would go so well with the painted wall in your office (I paused the video to comment so maybe I am forshadowing) And on that little serving cart there should be a martini glas:) not that you have to put it there just the vibe I got. Super cool room btw!
You can pulp fruit and put it in an icecream maker for a nice refreshing sorbet. Always handy to have! I bought some second hand tapestry fabric samples and cut up my nans old curtains to make some lovely velvet/tapestry cushions. You could save the curtain bottom and make some matching cushions.
9:15 - “gasket”… that’s the name for the little rubber thing that seals the jar lids on and prevents leaking. Geez… I’m just in complete awe of the excellent thrift stores in your town. Such amazing finds!! And in the tried and true treasures department… I just love the old table from your previous kitchen. That giant slab of wood is so unique. 12:45 - love that retro looking radio!! Very charming!! I could go on and on about all the great things that you are doing, finding, and creating, but I’ll stop here and just say that I love this video. Your vlogs are always so positive and upbeat. Thanks, Gittemary, for spreading le joie de vivre!! 💦🌎Ⓜary💕
I've been planning on going thrifting and just havent gotten the time lately. These vlogs always spark that want again. I also love how you have everything on display even your pantry. If I put things out of site I forget them or I just dont use them the way I normally would so I love finding aesthetic ways to have normal necessary things on display
Love your vlog! Not sure if you already know - I recently learnt glasswares that were produced before 1970s may have a substantial amount of lead in it. The lead leaks if you use them for food, especially if you have liquid and the the worst is the liquid is acidic. The amount of lead depend on the glass type. Crystal is the worst but regular glasses made around the same time can have lead as well. I dont really have enough knowledge to give advice whether or not we should use them for food, and whether this kind of glass was made worldwide. Just dropping this here and hope someone else can give more comments.
The shelving as the Pantry is lovely Gittemary love your videos , how rewarding is it to get something you need from a Thrift store Love love love that 😊❤️
I think a biscuit colour on the back wall in the games room would look excellent rather than the red colour... it would soften it and look good with the other red on the opposite side. Hope you don't mind me offering this option... its looking good so far!
Your home is so beautiful and it makes me think of my childhood home, my parents only bought 2nd hand. It’s cosy and eclectic💕. I love your game room and pantry shelf! I am enjoying your vlogs, fun & inspiring 🥰
Everything is coming along great! You got some good deals on those jars. I had to google the exchange rate to dollars, but those were super cheap! Good find! I'm loving the color coordinated books and random decor on the shelves in the game room. I think that's one of my favorite spaces I've seen in your house so far. Random question... do you think you guys would ever do a video of a D&D session?? I would love to see that!! :)
What a good jar haul! So far I've only found one in local thift stores that was useable 😓 I find so many where the seal has perished and they're no longer air tight
@@mollyhanna9783 yes but only if you can find the right one, plus by that point it doesn't end up being financially viable, at least as for what's available in my area.
@@tjtay02 good to know. I haven’t found many fliptop jars so I haven’t had to look into it. Some secondhand jars are very overpriced in my area, so I get what you mean. I wonder how long the seals last on average… I need to do my research and figure out cost analysis comparing canning with metal lids vs fliptop rubber seals
This was such a lovely vlog! I have to admit, I wouldn’t want to explore that mysterious space in the wall all by myself either. Ooh, I love the way you arranged the jars on your pantry shelf though! Absolutely gorgeous ✨
Fermentation station! I cant wait to see how you go about it. Our new place has a nook that will be home to all my Fermentation projects, especially my kombucha. Good luck.
I love the game room!! You probably know this already but since you mentioned replacing the rubber ring of the jars you bought... if you ever need to replace the lid of a Quattro Stagioni Bormioli jar they sell them separately too.
Love these home improvement videos so much! It might be worth putting a layer of renoveringstapet (I only know the Swedish word, sorry!) down first in the hallway to even out the surface for painting.
Love this video! Your home is gorgeous. I just walked through West Elm today and was loving the curated look of their home stuff but wondering how to do so in my own future home sustainably. This gives me hope, inspiration, and ideas! I would love to see more of this as you continue to source items for your home
I finally found a thrift-shop near where I live and it's amazing!!! I love the treasure hunt feel of the experience and it's definitely become one of my favourite activities, so much fun! Your home is becoming more and more lovely, the game room is so cool... I know it's a bit off topic, but how about a d&d video? As always, thanks for your awesome content!
Omg the book coordination according to the colours. Incredible. While i was watching the part where you were showing us your game room, i thought about how creative you are. And lets talk about your style in each and every part of this video. Inspiration.
I need to go thrifting soon. I think in your hallway that is plaster board and it needs plastering before you paint. Probably check with a professional.
Your house is looking so good! I was wondering if you could share where you the yellow bag on your bed (and in your intro!) is from please? I’m sure you’ve mentioned before but I can’t recall in which video. Thank you! 🪴
I would love to be able to go to Denmark and play D&D with you guys. I haven't played in years. What version do you play? Concerning dear sweet Molly: I acknowledge that she's a senior dog. Something that may also help her is to get or make a set of stairs for ger to get on the bed. It would also help should you consider getting a puppy in future.
Although I myself feel very much addressed by you in your videos, your claim to "see [:.:] in [your] next video", I'm starting to think you're just talking to a camera there ;) Anyway, great video on bamboo! I appreciate the research a lot! Only disclosing your sources would make it perfect...

I am always looking for things like that in thrift shops 👏

I sadly didn’t get it and I really regret it 😂😭

Basements can be really scary, I totally understand you wanting someone home with you. Everything is looking great!

I am aware for sure, most of the jars I bought here are relatively new, it is easy to tell them apart from the more vintage ones ☺️
@@Gittemary Good that you know!! Would you share how to tell which ones are vintage? I dont find a good way to tell! Thanks again!

*chilling on the floor of the thriftstore*: "I don't know if you can tell, I'm quite happy" love it! ^^
A good end to my work day, some herbal refreshment and your video.
Sounds like a vibe 😎
I love the game room!!

Your style is my inspiration!
Love your zero waste videos!
I loved seeing A Wise Man's Fear in your game room, it's my favorite book😍 The shelves look beautiful color-coded
My favourite kind of video! Love seeing the changes and improvements you are making in your new home, Gittemary! Lookin' good! ♥♥♥

Literally same
Have you thought about putting the paneling from the basement in the entry way?
I have actually ☺️

Random tip with sunlight, works also great on stinky menstrual cups and discs.

Please share your vinegar solution for stinky jars!
If you paint the game room wall red, it would be cool if the shelves are also red and the inside is black or some other contrasting color.
-what would work with this mirror?
-this basket.
absolutely typical 😂
Your game room is already a roleplayer dream, my bf and I need such a table in our future house 😍 Is it beer-proof ?

And zerowaste aside, how annoying would it be to purchase ~heckin~ expensive pizza stone and then find one for free a bit later 😄😄
It’s coming together so nicely! Can you come to the US and thrift & decorate my home for me? 😁 freaking love your style
ok.... i love love love how the colour coordinatied bookshelf LOOKS..... but how do you(any one else) FIND anything???? mine are sorted by topic....
I am very visual, so I know most of my books by their colours ☺️
Can you make a makeup zero waste video in the morning I miss seeing a video like that .🙃🤗🤣😂
I adore you
Hey do they not do inspections where ure from. That room should have been found then
It is not an actual room, but a free space under the stairs, but yeah we do inspections ☺️
14:32 that is some animal staring back at you
Where? 😂
💚🧡💚
