@@hazzywazzeh Before 2018 it was clear they weren't besides small Easter eggs, now with RDR2 and each new GTA Online update having RDR references it's possible. I think Rockstar wants them to be in the same universe, but the issue is that RDR constantly references places that don't exist in the GTA world (California, NYC). The RDR universe is also A LOT more grounded than GTA's (not always, but generally).

So what's up with GTA online being about rich fucks partying? It's just dance music and clubbing dlc's from what I can see. (I haven't played in years so I'm not up to date on everything gtao)
But looking at this doesn't feel very Grand Theft Auto.
Honestly just personally hope GTA VI has a more old school GTA feel. Kinda how VC felt like you were playing an 80s action movie or SA felt like a 90s movie.

Also that's not the point of my comment. What I was saying is that clubs are lame as fuck. Who the hell says oh my favorite radio station is the edm station? No, people love the classic rock radio, the 80s radio stations, the classic gangsta rap radios. The dance radios are always less memorable and GTA protagonists are the guys who rob from coke snorting losers and in some times were against drugs all together. Where's the tension? Where's the drama here?
Where's the real life and crime movie influences that GTA is all about? GTA online completely misses the point of what GTA is all about. You see clubs and casinos in the games but they're never the main focus of the games, at the very least it would be a casino heist like oceans eleven but none of this walking around parties dancing to electronic music.
I hope GTA VI really will be about Miami again and has some influences from great crime drama like Breaking Bad and Narcos and none of this pussy clubbing shit and flying cars.

Online was originally set a few years/months before story mode, but with the ending in this heist with Trevor and Patricia was in story mode.

The GTA Online DLCs progress with real time. The most obvious evidence of this is the Gunrunning DLC had Agent 14 say in one quote that the year was 2017 and that's the year the DLC came out in.
