Micha - I really believe there are some movies that just shouldn’t be made. The Meg is one of those and The Meg 2 is one of those too. I had no idea they were thinking about doing a meg sequel and when I saw on twitter that they’re already making it I just had to ask WHY? Ok a giant shark, wow we haven’t seen that before. Seriously, why do you think they’re even bothering to make this one? Thank.

I liked The Meg a lot more than most people, so I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Samee
It was very popular
Same
I hope this time its more aligned to the book. The Trench was my favorite novel by Steve Alten.
I quite enjoyed it as a B-Movie and am reasonably excited for part 2.
Same here 💯
Same! 🦈
The film is not allowed to shoot locally in Krabi province of Thailand, I feel sad.
There's actually alot more books and the meg is just the first baddie 😍
The Meg rocked! Let's do it again!
I hope they include the kronosaurus in it cuz it was in the second book
Why is that even a question? The ONE reason ANY sequel is made is because the first made a big enough profit - period.
Needs an R rating,
Should include the kronosaurus.
I loved The Meg. Seriously.
Cad Bane looking like he wants to take on the Meg himself. Now that I'd love to see.
More like he's about to get ready for some me-time with John now that Superman is out of the picture 🤣
There are still FAR LESS giant shark movies than comic book movies! I enjoyed the Meg, & I’ll watch the sequel too. I say bring it on!
The meg was awesome
It had a box office of $530 Million on a budget of $130 Million. Do we need to say more?
The Meg was a big, dumb, FUN movie. I see nothing wrong with turning my brain off for two hours. I feel kind of bad for the person asking the question, who obviously cannot switch his brain off. People like that sadden me.
The Meg was a fun horror action movie which equaled a fun summer at the movies. It made people laugh, while jumó in some scenes here and there while making us appreciate the unknown mysteries of our ocean. So I’m down for a Meg 2!!
I want to see Meg 2. Fun movie.
I loved The meg!
The Meg was just pure fun. The plot was basic yet different enough to be interesting, the characters were bland but fun and over the top, and the action was always the highlight. Hope they don’t go full on copying the aliens 2 school for smaller monsters more monsters in the sequel
I liked The Meg. Let’s see what they cook up next.
One of the things we Finnish people can be proud of in Hollywood is Die Hard 2, which was directed by our Renny Harlin, who ironically also directed Cutthroat Island. But I have always liked Deep Blue Sea as well by Harlin.
The Meg is a great 'In The Moment" movie. I enjoyed it when I first saw it in the movie theater. I bought it on Bluray and enjoyed it again with friends and family. But I haven't watched it since. It's just not something that jumps to the front of my mind when I'm choosing a movie to watch. However, I know when MEG 2 gets closer to release I will no doubt be rewatching Meg. Hopefully, the second one will be as entertaining as the first. I'm also a sucker for 'creature features' and shark movies in general. As mentioned in this video Deep Blue Sea is great, The Shallows is great, 47 Meters Down is great. I also put Croc and Gator movies in the same boat (pun not intended). Crawl is one that came out recently that was great. So yeah, I would never be the guy to as why something is being made especially if it's a creature feature. Because there's a market and a lot of love for the creature feature. Especially one that has a big or decent budget attached to it.
I hope they include something other than the Meg like a little inclusion of the kraken of something like that
In The Trench book they had Kronosaurus in it so I hope they put that in the movie
Whenever someone asks why are they making a sequel to this movie, the answer is usually money.
@@allencarnes2477 dammit you beat me to it
No discussion of Ben Wheatley as director...? Now, that's an interesting choice!
I'm surprised this movie didn't start shooting in 2019, considering the 1st was a decent hit at the box office.
I actually really enjoyed The Meg, and not in a “So bad it’s good” kind of way like a lot of other people say they did, I thought it was a legitimately good movie, I don’t exactly think they should be making a sequel though, I think this should’ve just been a one and done kind of movie, I hope I end up enjoying this one too but I’m not gonna lie, I don’t think we needed it
I found it quite entertaining and solid enough, pretty good cast as a matter of fact. My issue was that the middle act of the movie was really weak to me, like, something about the story at that point just made me distracted and look at my phone because it didn't felt interesting. But just that
the first one was so much fun
As one of the few people who have read all The Meg novels.. It's basically aquatic Jurassic Park. The 7th and final book is coming out this summer. I really hope one day we get to see Steve Alten's ideas on the big screen. It's so much more then just big shark carnage. Much like Venom I was there day 1 for The Meg, and will be there day 1 for the sequel.
I loved the Meg!!!
Can’t fucking wait for the next one
If we can have 10 FF movies then why can't we have a Meg sequel? I enjoyed the first movie. I am glad they are making another one. Now I need a Rampage sequel too.
I can’t wait for the sequel!
Btw, the Trench is the name of book 2 in the Meg series by Steve Alten. Awesome reading. Not questionable material. This book has gotten more teens to read than you can imagine.
Having read all of the MEG books I really feel the movie departs so much from what the book is about to the point where I am just annoyed with the movie.
Every movie adaptation ever lol
Jurassic park did that too yet was huge. Doesn’t mean they can’t include scenes from the novels in sequels. The Jurassic park films have included parts from the first novel in their sequels.
i like the Meg movie with all the cuts that made it rated R
Loved the movie and the book! Looking forward to the sequel.
First one was pretty good, who doesnt like a shark movie? Bring on the sequel, ill go see it in theaters
Thailand 🇹🇭: refused to give the green light on using one of its islands to shoot Meg 2.
I wonder what would happen if they moved The Meg into the Sharknado universe...
I liked Meg, and am looking forward to the sequel...
The Meg is a masterpiece in the same universe that Robert thinks Jupiter Ascending was a great movie
Because millions of people loved it. It's pretty good and it made a LOT of money.
Please watch Sky Sharks or Sharknado, then get back to us if we need "The Meg 2". :P
2 words, Ben Wheatley. One of the best directors around right now. I am expecting more of a dark horror vibe to the sequel. Also its Jason Statham, C'mon
I really enjoyed The Meg especially with Jason Statham fighting a giant shark.
I enjoyed The Meg. Happy their making a sequel.
will meg ryan be in it ??
Superfluous question. Have you seen the Box-Office of the first movie. Why wouldn´t you make a second one should be the question if they didn´t make a sequel.
The Meg 2: Shut Up Meg!
I liked the first one
I liked the Meg movie
I “REEEALLLY” want a New Snake Horror Movie
I wouldn’t call The Meg a Shark movie. It’s a monster movie like Godzilla or Kong. There’s plenty they can do with a sequel.
I have always loved monster movies and really enjoyed the first glad to see it getting a sequel
Cade Bane is a guest now
I found the movie entertaining if nothing else.
Always enjoy the show, and I hate to criticize but..... I really don’t think Cad Bane contributes that much to the conversation. That dude has to loosen up
🤣🤣🤣
I'm big fan of Deep blue sea franchise .2nd part released in TV (HBO) and 3ed part released in streaming (PVOD)
The meg was great
Ohhhh noooooooo🤣🤣🤣✋
I want a meg-anadoo that will be so epic. It has to have wings too.
I liked the Meg. I hope the next one is good
Lol The Meg was fun. It was self-aware, big budget B movie.
I'd watch that over moonfall.
Who is that alien on the top right
Cad Bane from Star Wars
The novel was absolutely amazing. It was true ocean horror. The movie was a joke.
Damn! Put that book in the list of books that were butchered in their movie adaptations alongside World War Z and Eragon.
I wasn't shocked with the SLJ scene in DBS. I remember watching it with my wife while we were dating. We get to the part where he goes through the whole spiel and I'm sitting there and go, "He gets eaten riiiiiiight now!" And BOOM! Shark jumped out of the water and eats SLJ.
As for the Meg, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't anything groundbreaking, but me and my kids had fun watching it. I dunno that I'll go to the theater to see it, but I'd watch it on streaming or HBO if it's on there.
Dude I will Wax rhapsodic to all of you about the Meg books and everything that the books will cover!!
Hey I'm on board! Pun intended
I loved it
My friend BEGGED me to watch The Meg, but whenever is hyping up a movie so much, you kinda don't want to watch it. But I watched it just because I was bored and I did kinda liked it, so I would watch it in a theater if it makes me excited about it
Meg was a decent movie. Enjoyable. Not sure if I wanted another, but I'll definitely watch it if it comes out. It's a good popcorn flick
i enjoyed THE MEG a lot. i loved it. it ended on a high note, so MEG 2 isn't needed. i'll still go see it when it gets release. but it's not needed.
The Meg was ok, it really could've benefited from an R rating in my opinion.
And way less Ruby Rose
👍
isn't one of the Production Companies from China? So they will make a lot of money in China
I loved the first movie. Big, dumb fun. I can't wait to watch a sequel.
I want too see it in 3d 🐑🐘🐽
Deep blue sea, the shallows, the Meg my favs never cared for Jaws.
Me being a such kaiju/monster movie fan the first one was so boring. The last act was such a meh. Like y’all have a big shark and literally don’t do anything more with him in the last act. I remember the beach scene the trailers make it seem like such a big act with all the people etc to be such a boring ending 💀 I was so mad when I got out
I wish the movie followed the book more, but it was still an enjoyably dumb movie. I had fun and wouldn’t mind a sequel
期待吴京
Meg 1 was boring AF.
Lies!!!! Lies!!! Lies!!!!
Now is the time for universal to reboot Jaws
