I like the longer video's more but I can understand that pumping out 6 or 7 video's a week is a lot of work. Anyway, keep up the great work guys and Nikki!!!
After me and the X split I bought a little house in the country to live in until we got everything settled. Just a half acre but across the road was a corn field. The day after I moved in the wind blew and I bet every corn stalk and cob and leaves was on that half acre. You couldn't even see out the back door they were that deep. And Dougo I promise I didn't look!!! Old enough now I don't have to be told twice. Lol
Doug, you need to use the leaf blower, and make a skirt to put around the dump funnels on the trucks so that corn and beans won't blow away as they do god bless
Glad your getting moisture. Hoping the wind doesn't get to bad. Nothing worse than cutting lodged grain no matter what kind. Happy you all are getting a break. Much needed I am sure. As of 7pm Sat. we have 4 inches on the ground and its still snowing in N.E. Montana. Went from 62f on Tuesday to snow and sleet Friday and more snow on Saturday. Hopefully it will dry up where your at so you can get that corn crop in the bin. Keep up your grest vlog. Appreciate you sharing with us all !!!
Growing up, we picked high moisture corn and used a grinder/blower to put in our silo for our dairy cows. I would pick 10-15 wagons full (350bu gravity boxes) early in the morning when the field were frozen. Once they started to thaw out, we'd get stuck. I would then spend the afternoon & evening grinding load after load. Spent alot of time climbing in & out of gravity wagons.
You guys are amazing, it's so relaxing to watch these videos. Brings back memories, when I was a kid my dad would pick corn and I had to level it off in the wagon. My head still hurts, I would get hit with the cobs flying out of the chute. But it was fun... Dougo, you are really getting good at these videos. Hold on and ride that Storm like you own it. Thanks to you all.
Wow. Big storm you had in your area. Glad you got equipment home and in the shed. Good video again. Lot of variety on it and Doug keeping up with the dryer and jobs around the farmstead. Lot of trash given by the wind. Hang in there. Good job Nicki with the video editing. Never easy. Thanks. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
I remember riding with my Grandpa during harvest using a 2 row corn picker dumping the ears into a wagon being towed behind the tractor. I know all about shelling corn. That wind took all of my leaves over to my neighbors' lawns but I was towing my RV travel trailer from Alex back to Mpls in it; white knuckles most of the way. We got an inch and a half of rain with that storm...I slept right through it.
I'm glad you said that cause down here picking corn means ear picking combining corn self explanatory shelling corn means your pulling ears back out of the open bin
You guys should invest in a weather station (Ambient Weather 2902-B) That way you can monitor high/low temps, rainfall, wind direction speed etc. all via mobile phone app! It’d be great for the farm
Forgot what that wet stuff was!! Hasn’t rained here since July and the winds been blowing 30 plus for weeks. Soybeans are 7-8 percent moisture... Fun harvesting them when the shell at the head!!
That must have been Sunday the 11th -- I was working in Omaha and chose that Sunday to take a drive and check-off SD, ND and MN on my "states I've visited" list. I drove up I-29 to exit 1 in ND and hung a right over to US-75 in MN to come back south, thinking I'd take the scenic route back to Omaha. Had no idea I was passing your neck of the woods. That storm was no joke! It was one of those that slowed everyone down to 30mph to keep from hydroplaning on the sheets of water sweeping across the road... I've been in drier hurricanes!
Dougo's still looking for new goggles I commented a couple video ago I suggested the DeWalt DPG82 goggles they are yellow like he requested comfortable and protect the eyes well and don't fog up.
Chet, your dad needs to start his own channel, he is hilarious!!! We totally enjoy your videos - keep up the great work. Nicole great editing! Love the music Dougo is sweeping to. We are laughing our A$$es off. Just luv it!
Shoot I need to come and drive that Pete owned mine for yrs before I retired but I do miss driving one of the best trucks on the road ever need help holler at me 45 yrs experience with only two wrecks and they weren’t my fault lol
Great job - Doug has this filming/acting role down pat. Man, how do you stay so clean. I just walk out the door and get covered in grease. I know you are working - seen ya
We got an inch & a half out of that storm up here by Elbow Lake. I was driving home when the wind & rain hit & the wind damn near blew my pickup off the road. You couldn't see 2 feet in front of you.
Really enjoying Doug's hosting more and more videos. He's a natural!
Amen!
Dougo with his collared, pressed shirt in the middle of a storm on the radio running everything. American hero.
