Actually Madara, it was because of poor porting of the game. The PC runs nicely for the game and the porting was done by third parties for XB1 and PS4. The switch is being ported by Playtonic game themselves, it may actually be a way better game on the switch than the other two consoles.
Supposedly (read: I haven't fact-checked yet, but), the Xbone and PS4 ports were done by a third party whereas the PC and Switch versions are being handled by Playtonic themselves. So...hopefully that means it'll be just as smooth as the PC version.
OS: Windows 7 (64bit) Processor: Intel i5-2500 3.3GHz Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: NVidia GTS450 / AMD Radeon 6850HD DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 9 GB available space Sound Card: Windows Compatible Card Additional Notes: A Controller is STRONGLY recommended to play this game. These are the minimum requirements as per the steam page. To play this game with bad textures, low poly counts, and simplistic lighting and effects. How do you think the switch version will fare?
Digizel the Bui that's really interesting if true. That gives me hope for the Switch version. It sounds like maybe they should've delayed the game by another half-year and optimized the Xbone and PS4 versions themselves.
If you saw how a simple patch fixed the framerate problems with BOTW, you'd know that a lot of these issues are caused by the software and not always the hardware of the console. Playtonic could ensure that this is patched for smooth framerates by the time it's released for Switch. That's how.
Kanoshie Abamanito I mean... it's a main 3D Mario game what we are talking about here so we know it's going to be good. Talking about Yooka Laylee... maybe I'll try it later on if they make a performance patch or the port on Switch is good.
this was never going to beat the epic Originitar anyway, a real shame because I think the main theme is super-cute and really a classic already real shame about the actual game =//

"Hey, let's get back at those microdicks for buying our company back in the day, by releasing a shitty game on the system that a huge chunk of our old fans own, that will show 'em!"
If the Switch version ends up being great then you might be right? The game looks fun but frame rate issues are kind of annoying when you are playing a platform.
So it is better than Mighty Number 9, but it is still not the game that fans had expected to get... ... If Bloodstained doesn't deliver, that will be the final nail in the coffin of how we apparently can't trust former game developers...
And what was the problem that we ran into with Mighty Number 9? Yeah, the game had alot of problems, but did Mighty Number 9 have performance issues too? Point remains that if people wanted to make a comparison between This and Mighty Number 9, they can make a pretty good case for themselves.
mas8705 The PS3, 360, and especially the Wii U had a lot of problems including schizophrenic frame rate and erasure of achievements. And depending on the PC, it'll have memory leakage (as shown in ProJared's Let's Play)
Yeah it was PS3, 360, and Wii U Versions that had the most framerate problems. PS4 and Xbox One had mostly minor framerate problems, while PC Version usually had none but it depends on the setup, but it's more stable.
What I want anyone watching this review to know, or anyone looking to get into Yooka-Laylee, this game was funded by fans of Banjo-Kazooie, back in the year 2000 at the end of Banjo-Tooie we were teased at a "Banjo-Threeie" That, unfortunatly, never came to pass, and fans were left in the dark for many, many years. This was originally meant to be, as the developers put it "a labor of love" with an initial funding goal of only about 200k. You aren't going to find cutting-edge graphics, or anything new. It's a call-back to a beloved game genre that's elusive when showing it's face. Knowing that the people who worked on this game are the original developers of Rare, the people who made Rare so special before the buyout gives me complete confidence that they'll fix all technical issues with the game in the following months. I'm honestly beyond joyous about the fact this ever happened, I've wished for years, and it's finally here.
When Yooka and Laylee make their debut, Baddies will feast on chameleon stew! I'm rooting for Captain B to lay down the hurt Or else up his butt, my boot I'll insert! -Grunty
The PS4 and Xbox One versions were done by another team in order to get the game out in time, which probably explains the technical performance . The Wii U and PC versions were being developed by Playtonic themselves. The Wii U version was cancelled in favor of a Switch version and that is being developed by Playtonic themselves. So if the PC version runs nicely, expect the Switch version to be pretty solid if it's being developed by them if their version they worked on is the best running version.
nice honest review. you will probably get some hate from fanboys so just know that we all appreciate your honesty even if the game may not be as good as some have hoped for.
From what I'm gathering, Yooka-Laylee is a fun game that understands the era it's " *inspired* " by, but could do better in learning past mistakes from Rare games and optimizing games for their hardware. I feel like game optimization wouldn't be a problem if KickStarter games held back on shooting for platforms it hasn't tested yet.
I can sense that Ash was a little..... timid/very careful about what *negative* things he was saying just not "upset" the fanbase behind this game (a little shame that reviewers sometimes feel "restricted" to be 100% honest just to not "upset" fans of that particular game. That is just lame). Nonetheless, as always, Ash delivered a solid review all around and I think the score seems fair given what he had to put with playing this game on Xbox one. For me, I'll wait to see more reviews before I make my final decision to whether purchase the game or not. Again, good job Ash! :)
Very thought out, honest review. I can tell you really put a lot of work into your review script to handle your disappointments as diplomatically as possible but still getting across how upsetting the jankiness was to you. I really hope the extra time it's taking for the Switch version pays off and that it's a smoother experience. Thanks for the review, Ash!
So the PC version on a decent-enough rig isn't supposed to have the frame drops? I'll definitely get that version then. I'm really excited, and everything about this (aside from Frame drops) has the classic Rare fan in me salivating. And honestly, jarring minigames and races have always been part of Rare's repertoire, so even if the game would be stronger without them, thinking back to Banjo-Tooie and DK64, I think I'll feel right at home with them. And so everyone knows, the PC version was handled by Playtonic themselves, whereas Team 17 did the Xbone and PS4 ports; it would seem Playtonic should try not to work with Team 17 for any future games.
I'm glad Playtonic Games are working on the Switch version personally like they did with the PC version unlike the Xbox One and PS4 versions which were ported by Team17. I really hope the Switch version runs well, ever since I heard it was coming to Switch I knew it was the system I wanted to play the game on.
my cheap PC is only slightly better than a ps4. If it runs just as bad as on console I'm getting Snake Pass instead. But appearently the ps4 and xbox ports are outsourced so there is a bit hope.
Da Nintendude well apparently the PS4 and Xbox One ports were done by a third party, while the Switch and PC Versions are being done by Playtonic themselves so the Switch version might be better optimised
Joeynator3000 From what I hear, the Xbox One/PS4 versions are ported by a 3rd party, whereas the PC and Switch versions are developed fully by Playtonic
OS: Windows 7 (64bit) Processor: Intel i5-2500 3.3GHz Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: NVidia GTS450 / AMD Radeon 6850HD DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 9 GB available space Sound Card: Windows Compatible Card Those are the minimum requirements on pc, so yeah I don't trust playtonic to make an optimized game.
I'm sure it's just the PS4 and Xbox One version having those issues. They were ported by another studio. Playtonic themselves made the PC and are making the Switch version.
He still enjoyed the game pretty, it's just performance issues. From what I've heard, the PC version is definitely better than the console versions though. Also keep in mind that Team17 was responsible for all of the Console Ports (other than the future Switch version)
When the Switch release comes out, can you guys still do a review on it possibly? See if it shares the same problems or even worse problems as the X Box version
+Mellon he's not talking about the artstyle, this looks like any other colorful cartoony game, it's fine. But the actual designs of the two main characters are... well, questionable. Personally i'm meeeh about them.
This game looks fun and relatively clever, it's a shame it lacks so much expected polish. Performance is one thing, but regardless of the platform it seems there are still issues with the fundamental gameplay itself.
With few technical issues aside (as they can be patched) all these reviewers seem to be complaining that it is too hard and there are too many things to collect...surprise surprise it's just like the original Banjo-Kazooie games, pretty much exactly what we all wanted.
Did people expect a triple A, huge-budget, massively polished game?.... What are these Reviewers on? .... Seriously. It's a kickstarter game and I reckon the fans will love it
EpicMinecraftGamer42 UA-cam comments are not censored for kids. It's the same as parents letting kids watch R movies or playing M games at age. But whatever. Go play GTAV and see IT this summer. Do what you want.
Its more than that. He's generally being controversial for click bait. He said Zelda breath of the wild was the worst Zelda... Thats just outrageous. He also said shit like its ok to pirate Nintendo games... WTF?
I'd be more concerned about the frame issues if it wasn't for the fact that this review's about the console I use the least. Fingers crossed the PC version runs well since I don't have access to the Switch.
I think it's important to note that I have absolutely no technical issues on PS4. The game runs at a solid 30 FPS with virtually no hiccups whatsoever. I also feel that in this day and age people look at these games and build up an unbelievable amount of hype in their minds. They get this impression that the game is going to be a masterpiece before it even comes out, and when they get something less than perfection, they tear it apart. It happened with Mighty No. 9 and it happened with Yooka-Laylee as well. I tend to avoid forming any kinds of expectations about a game until I can actually get my own hands on it. Because of that I feel like I'm one of the few people enjoying Yooka-Laylee for what it is. Is it Banjo-Threeie? Certainly not. Yooka-laylee is its own game entirely, and to look down upon it because it doesn't meet the extremely high bar that's been set for it by fan perception is doing both Yooka-Laylee and the devs at Playtonic a disservice. I'm personally very much enjoying Yooka-Laylee, and would recommend it to anyone looking to play a brand new 3D Collectathon like that of Banjo and DK 64.
A lot of people seem to just look on Metacritic and see this game is in the yellow and say, "Oh, it looks like Yooka-Laylee is another bad Kickstarter disappointment" without actually thinking. Yooka-Laylee is an actual DECENT game unlike something like Mighty No. 9. Yooka-Laylee has 7s, 8s, 9s, and even some 10s which is something Mighty No. 9 only wishes it could have. It is also important to realize that this is Playtonic's first game and that for a first game it is still pretty decent. Reviews that give this game a 2 out of 10 are ridiculous especially since there are actual games that can't function like Sonic Boom that have reviews like that. I personally think people put too much faith in the opinions of people who's opinions don't matter anymore than anyone else's and should wait and build their own opinions. And personally I'm excited for Yooka-Laylee and I hope that Playtonic's future games can continue to get better and they can learn from any mistakes from Yooka-Laylee.
+Apollo Dawn A lot of the reviewers were basically shitting on collectathons as well. So there's definitely a bit of genre bias going on there. Will it be an amazing game? Probably not. But a 6/10 is a tad harsh for a game that has a few technical issues, especially if it succeeds in replicating the Banjo Kazooie style.
Kartos and Rextro break the pace of the game? Why, aren't they essentially in concept a revival of Canary Mary from Banjo-Tooie and the forced arcade section in Donkey Kong 64, two infamous segments of Rare history that completely deflated the pacing of their respective games? You'd think bringing those back would be a sure-fire hit!
I am very excited for this game, but I really wish it was on Switch day one. I will probably end up getting the Xbox One version, but I would love to play it portable day one.
I never played Banjo-Kazooie but i love this game so much. i hate the mini-games too, the camera, and the controls for the damn Snow Plough, but i love this game overall. I'm on World 4, but i backtracked and finished off Tibalstack Tropics (mostly). i dont care about framerate and stuff, just gameplay and the looks of the game. All in all, this game's awesome.
Here's my totally legit review: 0/10, no JonTron, would not buy. I needs my JaneTrans to do JamTrains stuff. Wait...people stopped caring about this right?
Nope. People will never forget it. Some people should just quit video games if they get all upset over a youtuber getting his grunts cut out of the game..
Stop Reading this I can agree. I mean, I don't know the whole story, but Jon getting cut seemed reasonable. Playtonic didn't need to be dicks about it, though. But the main issue is that both sides blew it way out of proportion. You have the JonTron side, which is acting like the people who got pissy over Skinship in Fates and the Playtonic side, which just automatically assumes everyone who enjoys JonTron are idiotic racists and act like Moral Guardians. If the inclusion or removable of a cameo is that important, they need to get their priorities straight. It was a small role. Nothing more. JonTron said something stupid, Playtonic were asses about it. That's it. This has gotten to the usual bullshit celebrity news you can see anywhere level.
people are mad about jontron but they are pissed that team 17 and playtonic insulted their backers blocked them and locked threads on the forums in steam and the official forums so yeah the people going "hur dur no jontron" are straw manning the main reason people are boycotting the game if you want to buy the game then go ahead. A fool and his money and all that but don't you dare insult the reason people are boycotting this game because how little the devs and producers think of them
Not_Pit_Kid_Icarus but there is platforming. You can jump around and explore platforms and you have abilities to help you with platforming. It's like if Mario 64 had weapons lol. It's still a platformer
So, one thing I will say (before even playing the game) Is the worlds seem to be build a bit like how Nuts and Bolts were, not very many, but VERY expansive.
xSportacus the only people I've ever heard of or seen comparing games or fanboying or any particular game over another are little kids. I.e. kids who compare hzd to botw and vice versa.
Haven't played video games for probably 20 years but aquired an x box one recently so have just been looking what is now available.. I am WELL out of the loop lol! I used to love the Spyro PS1/2 games for their beauty, magical cuteness and i guess the explorable 'platform'( ?) - aspect-, with lots of different worlds and portals. This looks similar? Given that i loved the old Spyro what would you recommend? ( at this point I don't think dense strategy / big shootem ups, complex button combo learning will be up my street lol)
"You'll find it to feel a bit... Empty." After Bubblegoop swamp, I can handle anything. (I had killed all the enemies, completed all the quests, found all the jinjos, but was missing 4 notes. I spent over an hour finding those notes.)
Kinda sad to see trolls immediately blaming the Xbox One. Clearly the issue that lies here is poor optimization rather than a lack of hardware power. It's not like this game is extremely graphically intensive or anything.
I like that Playtonic went for continuity in making this game's framerate performance similar to Banjo-Tooie's. People who own Xbone should feel special
i really hope they figure something out for performance when the Switch version is finally released. This is the only kickstarter I have ever joined, and have had a lot of hope in this team.
Switch version releases later than Xbox and Ps4 so it could either be a worse or better version. The Switch version is what I will get simply because it just feels right to play a game made by old Rareware people on a Nintendo console.
At the beginning of the video I thought that my computer was lagging, for some unknown reason, while playing this video. Then you mentioned the framedrops and it all of a sudden made sense .-.
God I can't get over Polygon's review and LPVG's review. Putting Polygon aside, it was really stupid to complain about the world just because you got lost when getting lost is actually fun. I know subjectivity is kinda everywhere but objectivity kinda exist and "purpose" when making art is key. Your review is a lot more fair and respectful for the purpose.
Why's everyone so pissed about how people spend their money? Not a single person I've seen has said the game itself is bad without Jon. They find the decision unprofessional so they aren't buying it. That's how a boycott works.
I was so excited to finally relive a childhood franchise when getting Yooka Laylee. The reason I even got into Xbox was so I could play Nuts n Bolts on 360. Wow, it seems like this will be yet another technical letdown for me... :(
I'm gonna get Yooka-Laylee regardless of the stupid controversy behind it. I just want 3D Platformers to come back.
I'm going to wait for the Switch version and see if that's any better...
TATER SALAD
The switch isnt as powerful as the XB 1, it might actually be worse. Especially if undocked.
Actually Madara, it was because of poor porting of the game. The PC runs nicely for the game and the porting was done by third parties for XB1 and PS4. The switch is being ported by Playtonic game themselves, it may actually be a way better game on the switch than the other two consoles.
Madara Its not a power issue its an optimization problem. Playtonic themselves area handling the Switch version so the optimization should be fine.
As it, in my honest opinion, should.
TATER SALAD Hopefully, just hopefully they find a way to fix it.
The techinical problems are concerning on Xbox One, so I am curious how the switch version will run.
Supposedly (read: I haven't fact-checked yet, but), the Xbone and PS4 ports were done by a third party whereas the PC and Switch versions are being handled by Playtonic themselves. So...hopefully that means it'll be just as smooth as the PC version.

Nintendo Examiner don't even bother with him.
superzenno Like how botw runs on the wiiu most likely.
I heard "Bat shaped Kazooie" as "Batshit Kazooie".
Joma me too lol.
gosh. I hope that the switch version runs a little smoother...
mavway02 If the Xbox One version runs like this, Switch will definitely run worse somehow.
If the xbox can't run it well then how is another system with weaker hardware going to do any better?
ProDJ222 sadly, I agree.
If you saw how a simple patch fixed the framerate problems with BOTW, you'd know that a lot of these issues are caused by the software and not always the hardware of the console. Playtonic could ensure that this is patched for smooth framerates by the time it's released for Switch. That's how.
ProDJ222 has nothing to do with the hardware but how well the game is optimised for the system itself....
Finally a Rare game on Microsoft's console.
but, dude, seriously..... Sometimes UA-cam spazzes, but is it this video or is the game really sluggish and choppy like that? My god.
Hylian Ticipated That's how the game runs on XBox One, apparently.
Duke Spubber and ps4
It's the game, sadly
that is the game not the video...
I hope the Switch version will be an improvement!
Still really looking forward to trying it out for myself :)
did you get it?
There is always Mario
Kanoshie Abamanito odyssey is going to completely demolish this game
But this is gonna be a good game to wait for until Crash Bandicoot

First Donkey Kong Country.
Then Banjo Kazooie.
Now we just need a Conkors bad fur day successor
PK Ben
Wait what was the DKC successor?
Reyn the Insane // BSG
Donkey Kong Country returns.
technically counts as a successor
Retro picked up Rare's torch and ran with it. Tropical Freeze definitely stands up with the original trilogy as one of the best.
PK Ben Dkcr is not a successor buddy😐 Its just another game in the series. At least once a day I see a stupid ass comment. This is it.

SupaPixelGirl met too lol

Are you planning on doing a playthrough?
Solid review Ash - very well composed :)
What about the other consoles? Does it work good on the Switch?
Kenexxa it's not out on switch yet, and the PS4 version is similar to the Xbox one version
>Small indie studios making games on a tight budget
>Game is optimized like shit
HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN!?
Pretty solid review. Good job Ash!
Wow 30fps, framerate drops, they really did capture the N64 spirit!
Wait, Tooie was polished? My 10fps experience begs to differ.
When Yooka and Laylee make their debut,
Baddies will feast on chameleon stew!

Well Mighty no. 9 is a different story since it was basically ported to almost everything.
NintendoBoy6710 True. At least YL had some restraint.
This game feels perfect for the Switch. Being able to just pick up the game and get a pagie quickly is pretty damn enticing.

If I learned anything from this review, it's that I need the game on PC instead of Switch.
Unless it runs better of course...
And I hope it does. My PC lags on even the most barebonest of games.
Da Nintendude Did you say switch? lol this is for xbox

never played banjo-kazooie and I wonder how much I would enjoy this game without nostalgia warming my heart
A bit disappointing :( thought the days of broken indie game successors after numerous delays was over
it's just the performance, atleast it's not a boring game
Anime Fan on Prom Night Na its a great game with a lot of technical issues.
Judging by your memetastic name and photo, you're a smash bros player aren't you? ;D
MayanExpression ah yes and I'm a filthy icies main so everyone hates me :D
Anime Fan on Prom Night it's ok I'm just a sad, basic Fox lol
Well, good thing we have downloadable updates these days to optimize it as time goes on.
Something tells me the Switch version will be fine, no idea why. lol
How does the PC version run?
Joeynator3000 From what I hear, the Xbox One/PS4 versions are ported by a 3rd party, whereas the PC and Switch versions are developed fully by Playtonic
OS: Windows 7 (64bit)
Processor: Intel i5-2500 3.3GHz
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVidia GTS450 / AMD Radeon 6850HD
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 9 GB available space
Sound Card: Windows Compatible Card
Those are the minimum requirements on pc, so yeah I don't trust playtonic to make an optimized game.
I'm sure it's just the PS4 and Xbox One version having those issues. They were ported by another studio. Playtonic themselves made the PC and are making the Switch version.
Damn, if even GameXplain is that negative on a game... Starting to regret backing the game a little.
heart_of_chrome No game is perfect but this is a game that's worth playing.
He still enjoyed the game pretty, it's just performance issues. From what I've heard, the PC version is definitely better than the console versions though.
Also keep in mind that Team17 was responsible for all of the Console Ports (other than the future Switch version)
I love you Musical Shy Guy, always positive about Yooka laylee :)
Good point on Team 17 and the Switch version. Let's hope for the best
You''re right. Still looking forward to it and hoping for the best on the performance.
When the Switch release comes out, can you guys still do a review on it possibly? See if it shares the same problems or even worse problems as the X Box version
Anyone else feel like the character designs of the main characters are bad?
_SylvesterSan_ Now this is just reaching for complaints. Fuck off. It's an artstyle.
Mellon you know you can dislike an art style dude lol
+Mellon he's not talking about the artstyle, this looks like any other colorful cartoony game, it's fine. But the actual designs of the two main characters are... well, questionable. Personally i'm meeeh about them.
Actually i think it's a improvement over Banjo and kazooie.
The bell didn't notify me on these messages. While it does on others.
You're posting this review during Persona 5 release date?
This game looks fun and relatively clever, it's a shame it lacks so much expected polish. Performance is one thing, but regardless of the platform it seems there are still issues with the fundamental gameplay itself.
Yooka Laylee looks like it was made in Disney Infinity's Toy Box Mode.
I preordered this game and now everyone is saying it's not that good
Ignore the whiners, it will be a good game at the very least and an outstanding game at its best.
never preorder. ever.
Nathaniel Punoose combine both the previous answers for my answer
Well.
Hope you learned your lesson:
Do NOT pre-order games.
With few technical issues aside (as they can be patched) all these reviewers seem to be complaining that it is too hard and there are too many things to collect...surprise surprise it's just like the original Banjo-Kazooie games, pretty much exactly what we all wanted.
Was this recorded on the xbox? ..explains the frame drops.
Without big poppa Nintendo to watch over them, the polish just won't be there
Did people expect a triple A, huge-budget, massively polished game?.... What are these Reviewers on? .... Seriously. It's a kickstarter game and I reckon the fans will love it
Kids won't care about the frame drops. I'm definitely buying this for my son.
yes we do
You're 12 or under and your parents allow you to be reading comments on UA-cam? Wow.
what is so bad about read comments at age 12?
EpicMinecraftGamer42 UA-cam comments are not censored for kids. It's the same as parents letting kids watch R movies or playing M games at age. But whatever. Go play GTAV and see IT this summer. Do what you want.
my sister wont let me play gta
This is what I think Nuts and Bolts should have been. This is what we nearly a decade for and instead, we got a car building game.
Jim Sterling's review is ridiculous. 2/10... WTF?
This and his Zelda breath of the wild review. He has to be the taking the piss. Click bait.
Its more than that. He's generally being controversial for click bait. He said Zelda breath of the wild was the worst Zelda... Thats just outrageous.
He also said shit like its ok to pirate Nintendo games... WTF?
the worst zelda is a tie between adventure of link and tri force heroes.
but Jim berates anything that doesnt have super high graphics
You know his website does not draw ad revenue. The notion of clickbait is lost in this regard.
The title was very transparent as well.
His reviews have always been a mess.
I'd be more concerned about the frame issues if it wasn't for the fact that this review's about the console I use the least. Fingers crossed the PC version runs well since I don't have access to the Switch.
I guess everyone should get Snake Pass instead?
Carlos Mata Marxist wonderland maybe.
No, no, the technical issues are just an HOMAGE to Tooie on the N64 and how poorly that ran. :P
they better fix with the switch version.
Would you recommend the game to newcomers to the Banjo series? Sounds like the camera will get really annoying to deal with.
If you don't care about the dumb ol' controversy, that's awesome. If you do care, then why?
What was that Playtonic named 64-Bit?!
guys they did this in 2 years and with a limited amount of staff . give them a break this is amazing if you put those factors in
Kartos and Rextro break the pace of the game? Why, aren't they essentially in concept a revival of Canary Mary from Banjo-Tooie and the forced arcade section in Donkey Kong 64, two infamous segments of Rare history that completely deflated the pacing of their respective games? You'd think bringing those back would be a sure-fire hit!
those had more responsive controls. especially canary mary :p
I'M EARLY! Let me think of a joke...
Jon Tron
I am very excited for this game, but I really wish it was on Switch day one. I will probably end up getting the Xbox One version, but I would love to play it portable day one.
>Xbox version lags.
>Coming to Switch
I never played Banjo-Kazooie but i love this game so much. i hate the mini-games too, the camera, and the controls for the damn Snow Plough, but i love this game overall. I'm on World 4, but i backtracked and finished off Tibalstack Tropics (mostly). i dont care about framerate and stuff, just gameplay and the looks of the game. All in all, this game's awesome.
Most of the problems are caused by the Xbox... noted
Missiletainn Then whats your point?
Missiletainn Well you deleted your other comment so nevermind
Nintendo also has problems. The point is none of them are perfect.
Edit: Missiletainn deleted his comment. Now this comment has no context.
Most of those problems are also also on Nintendo Switch... Noted
Missiletainn and ps4
Sounds like the switch delay may be for the best if it gives them time to iron out these performance issues
#SwitchMasterrace
Phoenix Wright - #NintendoSwitchMasterrace lol reviewed on XBOX one I was dying when I read that LMFAO
Will there be a day one patch to fix the technical problems?
**Insert comment about Jontron because people rather talk about a removed cameo than the game itself.**
Was there even a co-op mode like it was promised in the kickstarter? That was something I was looking forward to.
Here's my totally legit review: 0/10, no JonTron, would not buy. I needs my JaneTrans to do JamTrains stuff.
Wait...people stopped caring about this right?
Unfortunely, no.
Nope. People will never forget it. Some people should just quit video games if they get all upset over a youtuber getting his grunts cut out of the game..
*fortunely, no.
That's it. This has gotten to the usual bullshit celebrity news you can see anywhere level.
people are mad about jontron
but they are pissed that team 17 and playtonic insulted their backers
blocked them and locked threads on the forums in steam and the official forums so yeah the people going "hur dur no jontron" are straw manning the main reason people are boycotting the game
if you want to buy the game then go ahead. A fool and his money and all that but don't you dare insult the reason people are boycotting this game because how little the devs and producers think of them
*SO HYPED* Planning to pick this up.
It's hard to get excited about 3D platformers now that we have breath of the wild. Which is basically a 3D platformer with SO much exploration
Kenny Argus Mario Odyssey though
Kenny Argus No, it's an open world game ( or open air)
Not_Pit_Kid_Icarus but there is platforming. You can jump around and explore platforms and you have abilities to help you with platforming. It's like if Mario 64 had weapons lol. It's still a platformer
Kenny Argus I mean I guess lol
Nice joke! Tell another one.
What about the Switch version? Will that run badly or will they have fixed it before it comes out?
I shall just go back and play banjo kazooie and the other rare masterpieces. Better than this unoriginal shite
So, one thing I will say (before even playing the game) Is the worlds seem to be build a bit like how Nuts and Bolts were, not very many, but VERY expansive.
Hopefully not as empty
"I liked the game. It had some performance issues, but it was fun."
"HE SAYS HE HATES IT! IT'S STRAIGHT GARBAGE! MIGHTY NUMBER NINE ALL OVER AGAIN!!!"
Man, Yooka-Laylee looks so goooooooooood.
For starters, he shouldn't have been playing it on XBox One..! XD
Has the Nintendo Switch version come out yet? If so, how's it's performance?
Super Mario Odyssey will destroy this
People still play mario? Lmao
xSportacus still comparing games to see what's better? what are you? 14-15?
Bobby Gonzalez How the fuck does that make me 14-15
xSportacus the only people I've ever heard of or seen comparing games or fanboying or any particular game over another are little kids.
I.e. kids who compare hzd to botw and vice versa.
I give it a -1/10 because no JonTron.
lol?
I am Gan Keep Crying.
I am Gan stupid JonTron fanboy
+Luigi the Dream King
Someone uses neogaf
ImmaLittlePip what the fuck is neogoaf?
It runs on the Unity engine, and it seems like a lot of developers have trouble getting the unity engine to run smooth on console.
"You'll find it to feel a bit... Empty."
After Bubblegoop swamp, I can handle anything.
Quick question: What does Shovel Knight do in Yooka Laylee? Is he just a cameo, or does he have a mission of sorts?
i really hope they figure something out for performance when the Switch version is finally released. This is the only kickstarter I have ever joined, and have had a lot of hope in this team.
Out of curiosity, what makes the technical problems in this game (ie: frame drops and slow down), different from Breath of the Wild?
When will the Nintendo Switch version release ? (Considering this was initially a kickstarter for the WiiU)
So should i buy this game if i havent played banjo and kazooie?
BlueSilver Definitely
yeah, give it a shot (though you should play the banjo games they are really good)
BlueSilver yes and if you like yooka laylee play the banjo games
No, try playing Banjo & Kazooie, (Rare Replay on XboxOne or Emulator) they're cheaper than this so don't risk wasting 30 more bucks on this.
If you don't like the gameplay then you should not buy this game.
Yeah thanks for saving me some money had this on pre order and was going to pick it up but il wait till its on sale
