Fun fact, depth charges don't need to be close enough for the explosion to damage the sub, the shockwave alone can damage the subs power lines and even break the hull because the subs are so weakly armored.
Makes sense considering they use stealth instead of heavy armor to stay functional longer. It's essentially a pop can under water, and enough force will cause it to pop, or worse implode.
Specifically, the rudder is used to align the plane with the direction of travel to keep the center of gravity aligned with the plane's desired center of gravity (straight down from the pilot's perspective.) This is done at all times (no, literally, there's trim for yaw for a reason,) as well as during turns and, as mentioned, on crosswind approaches, because to get the plane moving in the desired direction, you have to crab the plane and correct it at the last moment as you don't have other options. Turning the plane is a combined maneuver of using primarily roll, with the elevator to correct for changes in vertical speed (I.E. climbing or descending,) and the vertical stabilizer to change the plane's center of gravity to keep it in line with the plane's "downward," direction. This is both to reduce stress on the airframe and, well, it's simply more comfortable when the force of gravity is always below the pilot instead of off in any random direction. A perfectly executed turn can be at any given bank angle, and can be done while holding a perfectly level cup of water despite the cup rolling with the plane. And it needs all 3 controls to do this.
I feel like it would be interesting to revisit this idea as a 2v2 where one team pilots the sub with a turret, while the other team tries to bomb it. Whoever survives the longest wins.

For targeting reticle you could've go with one pointing directly downwards and one pointing down forward at like 30-45degree angle. Then when you you are flying horizontally and know your estimated flying altitude you should have pretty spot on targeting system.
depth charges are not designed to destroy submarines outright, they are made to mash the meat inside of them so it sinks on its own or has the possibility of capture/surrender. shockwaves are both more intense and move faster in water than air be cause water is "incompressable". fairly realistic and fun episode :)
I think the devs actually made explosions work how they do in real life. The shockwave from explosions travels further in the water than in the air (same way sound travels further in the water than in the air) So the damage range of the explosions are bigger in the game underwater than in the air
Would still love to see a Trailmakers battle (land or air, your choice) where you have shields that you can only take out with EMP weaponry before you're allowed to shoot the creation with ballistic weapons only.

Do Depth charges again but with boats/destroyers vs submarines: each person builds their own boat/destroyer and submarine. Then you can do different game modes: 1example= 2vs2 the sub team has to do or reach something (maybe even destroy the boats), 2example= 1sub runs from 2-3 Destroyers and to make it last longer the depth charges have to explode at a depth where they do damage but are not able to do a 1shot kill. BTW love your stuff
Maybe you should try doing a 2v2 helicopter vs boat battle, where both vehicles have a set powercore limit and have the weapon controls seperate form the pilot/captain seat.
As someone who's been suggesting an ASW match like this in the comments for a while (I guess Yzuei missed them and had the idea independently), can I suggest a follow-up with the sub launching air mines (similar principle: but the mines are launched up and given a gimbal jet/balloons to take them to detonation altitude)?
As a pilot I want to suggest a simple control fix that ALL airplanes have: Trim Mount your horizontal tail plane on an adjustable hinge that lets you adjust the angle which the tail is mounted to the plane up and down by tiny amounts. The WHOLE tail, not just the elevators (control surface). When you take off, you trim the plane to fly straight without inputs and then flying becomes easier and less tedious. For this to work, the plane must always be built slightly nose heavy and then trimmed to fly neutrally once in the air. Once you get used to a certain design, you'll know how much trim you need before you even take off
You should do a battleship style challenge where you are both on opposite sides of the map and you shoot missiles at each other blindly (like how they did it in the movie)
Can you do this on the high seas map please also with more people. Team 1: 1st person being recon plane (can look in any direction but no weapons) 2nd person being bomber( first person view and only 1 camera allowed). Team 2: 1st person light weight speedy sub (no weapons) 2nd person slow and heavily armoured sub (1 weapon of choice). heavy sub has to take out recon plane and or defend light weight sub, bomber/fighter plane has to take out lightweight sub and or defend recon plane. You can make changes to rules or stuff but I really want to see this concept in trailmakers
Suggestion: 《Airplanes VS flak launchers》 The main trick will be to design a ground platform armed with rocket-propelled TNTs programmed to detonate near the flying aircraft. If it gets boring, the pilot's objective will be to try and shoot the platform causing its munitions to detonate, before he himself is shot down. Good luck.

Confused me for a while too, basically when you save a creation the file is saved into a specific folder which you can access with a button at the side in game, and if you create another folder and name it inside of the creations folder you can put creations into it in file explorer and they will come up looking like groups in game
and for my last video idea why not do an melee dogfight? like only by bumping into each other could you win?for that challenge 4 rules .1 use flying object others then plane you can use wings but dont make it look like a plane.2 1 weapon a missile ,3 be fast and big 4 have fun!

I really hope you revisit some games you haven't played in the past few months/years. Some have changed completely (ok i only know that 1 has changed completely) and some haven't changed much. You should also check to see if you might like some other games, similar to scrap mechanic and trailmakers. I recommend Space Engineers, it has multiplayer and explosives and other stuff. (it has more frequent major updates than scrap mechanic does too)
I want to see a challenge done on the air map. You each have to build a high altitude bomber. You have to fly and drop bombs above the targeting range of the AA guns that are on the map. (You can use the bomb weapon unless you feel like designing your own) Then you each have 10 minutes (or however long you decide) to destroy as many AA turrets as you can. If you fly too low and the guns target you (they start shooting), you get a penalty. And if you get hit by the AA you lose.

Cool idea i had while playing airborn. chirpo seats are powercores! how agile can you make a flying vehicle, if it had to carry a LOT of chirpos? please make a dog fight where the rules are that you get more power cores the more chirpos you take. you decide the rate, maybe 1 PC for every 5 seats. that way you can decide wether to have a big powerdul jet, or a tiny vtol.
Weird Idea for a multiplayer EMP fight. Cars with detachable points hooked up to logic gates. Demolition derby style with detachable blocks on body, wheels, maybe even one or two engines beside a base engine. (Could also hook up with an explosive).

The F/A is allowed 2 additional weapons of whatever is determined to be fun. These MUST be at least 150 kilograms and are limited to 2 specific engines chosen by the group. The other person (or a team,) fly interceptors. These are allowed to have 3 total weapons, same type as team F/A, but with 0 bombs. They must be no more than100 kilograms, but can be as light as the builder desires, and are limited to the exact same weapons as the F/A planes. The Fighter/Attackers start in the air at an altitude of 500-2000m, the interceptors start on the ground. Team F/A attempts to bomb a static target near where the interceptors start at of any size determined to be fun. They must not use their guns to damage the base, only bombs. At a distance of 1-10 kilometers as determined by line of sight to player names, the interceptors are allowed to take off. The goal of the interceptors is to stop the attackers from damaging the base. Team F/A scores points based on how damaged the base is, while team interceptors score points by shooting down the other team before the base is damaged. Or, conversely, however many 'points' were denied the F/A team. It will be tricky to balance, but the asymmetric goals could make for a fun fight all the same.
Please do a challenge where all players make 20 mini gliders that glide on their own. They will be dropped down from the highest altitude. Then the players will build a plane with a single weapon to shoot down the other players gliders. As many as possible before they hit the ground.
Okay so here is an idea for y’all, blindfolded vehicle(cars or boats are probably best) in a minefield. Two teams of two, everyone uses the same vehicle and mines. Objective is to get the vehicle from point A to point B while navigating a minefield. The driver is blindfolded and has to take instructions from the other team member. While the other team sets up mines along the path before the run.
I feel like it would be cool if you had some videos where you just built a normal plane or boat or something with average build rules but there was some kind of challenge like not being able to fly too high or too low. Basically the build has nothing to do with the challenge.

Imagine this same game mode but the sub gets a rocket launcher to shoot back.
Rocket would be used to force the sub to surface to shoot back.

Make a MLRS with the smallest possible rockets. I find it tough to build small ones that fly well

You could fill the bomb with proximity sensors all the way around but it's not very practical...
