- Decided to look through a few of the characters that never made it to Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. As we all know that game received a bunch of dlc racers, including characters from incredibly obscure Crash Bandicoot games, so it's fun to look back on who didn't make the cut

Weirdly enough, I was just thinking yesterday about the fact that this game was the best out of the Crash remakes, and that the variety of characters was probably the best part about it.
Yes and yes, I loved the game, yes it could've been better in areas, but for what we have is awesome and definitely what I needed after being disappointed with Mario Kart for years thanks to MK's questionable item balancing, also the devs lack of balance of Legendary Skins between characters where some were given way more attention than others, need I remind about the Trophy Girls and Coco.
We need an update with this game for PS5/Xboxes one

I’m stunned that he didn’t mention Evil Crash. Could have been a nice little extra addition to the Bandicoot lineup.
For me, I would have added Ripto, Bianca and The Sorceress since we got spyro characters too. From the crash side, the evil twins, Willy, a Crash Tag Team Racing worker, and a fake coco to go along with fake crash
Yeah the Twinsanity neglect in general is pretty weird and frustrating.
As well as Crash of the Titans and Mind over Mutant.
Twinsanity was the lowest point of the series on top of being very unfinished.
Twinsanity deserved better but it did get referenced in some tracks so there's that

I think the warthog from the first game would have been neat, to sorta go along with the other “mounts,” Polar and Pura. And also the man-eating plant would be a funny addition-much like Smash Bros. getting the Piranha Plant haha

We already got the Iron Box and Scientist for funny addition stuffs, no need to imitate Smash Bros's overrated joke character.
I'm even surprised one of Papu Papu's tribesman wasn't featured, like how Lab Assistant was

Not from Crash, but I think Elora was sorely missing from the Spyro Grand Prix. Having Gnasty Gnorc instead of her felt so random, especially since no other villains from that game made it in.
From the Looks of it, they only really did Spyro 1.
Im surprised they chose Gnasty instead of Ripto, I'm not super familiar with Spyro but I feel like Ripto's the most iconic antagonist out of the 3 from the trilogy (maybe that's cause he was one of the main antagonist in one of the two Spyro games I've played (that being Spyro Orange with the other being Legend of Spyro on DS)
I couldnt tell you why but that skunk is by far my favorite side character in the entire crash universe, when you said "another back and forth enemy" I actually jumped out of my chair... While crash twinsanity is by far my favorite crash game ever, I haven't played it in at least a decade and I can still remember not just that skunks dialogue, BUT HIS VOCAL INFLECTIONS AND HEAD/ARM MOVEMENTS! Like that skunk has deadass tattooed himself on to my brain for absolutely NO reason and im completely here for it😂😂
Personally, for a weird pick I always wanted to see Crab, the very first basic enemy you face off in the entire series. It's just I felt like the roster was lacking in normal enemies and maybe some would've been nice (But I can see why they didn't go down that route).
Plus, I like crabs, they're cool
When the crates became playable characters, I did feel a bit for Sparky the robotic assistant. After all, Sparky was the constant companion in the original Nitro Kart, was highly regarded by both Aku Aku and Uka Uka, and had that cheeky personality with how it would pretend it was going to hit a character in the face when called.
The Tribesmen could've made it in. They certainly had the assets.
Any of the basic enemies, really, as well as their variants which could be used as skins, like the turtles with their spiked and buzzsaw variants.
They could even do like Crash on the Run did and use scrapped characters like the pink elephant from twinsanity. I'm down for N. Tertain from the canceled Cortex Chaos game.
I 100%'ed this game yesterday and its so sad to see this game get abandoned because its genuinely the most fun kart racing game I've played. Its very fast and very responsive! I might also be biased because I played it a lot when I was a kid
I mean, with just how many updates, content, and tweaks it got over it's dev cycle, I wouldn't call it abandoned, more like, they finished adding stuff to it and went on to help with a new project

I remember jokingly saying back then that the reason Willie Wumpacheeks never made it into the game was because at the end of TTR, He ends up as a puddle of slop on the ground and so i jokingly told myself that he was just canonically dead and couldn't ever come back because of it. obviously i know that isn't true and wouldn;t have stopped Beenox i just thought it was a funny way of explaining his absence.
I'd definitely add Mr crumb to this lost would of been perfect for Halloween grand prix
I wanted to see the Titans appear as racers. At the very least, Ratcicle and Spike since they're the first Titans you see in both Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant.
Nitro fueled is so great man, just filled with so much fan service and love and not to mention the transparency from the devs about what fans wanted.
Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed the Elementals weren't added to Nitro-Fueled. Yes, I know, they're masks and wouldn't be actual racers, but it would've been cool to have Elemental Skins that would've used the Elementals as the Invincibility Mask power-up. I mean, Rustland already proved you could assign a Skin with a special Mask power-up, so it wouldn't have been that difficult to do the same with the Elementals. Also, I wanted Brainwashed Skins for Polar, Pura, and Dingodile. You know, when they were racing for N. Trance in Crash Nitro Kart?
Would've been perfect skins for Crunch, 4 elemental skins

First of all, the game is 4 years old 😲😲 and second, totally agree with the Skunk, really wish they have carried on with the updates to the game, could have had more Spyro characters added as well
To be honest, i'm surprised Evil Crash wasn't added as a skin, same goes for the scrapped Good Cortex character that was supposed to be in Twinsanity. I mean, it was only fair after Coco got like 90% of the costume attention...
Mr. Crumb could have worked as a racer for Halloween dlc
The devs had 2 pills for do a season:
-The blue one with Twinsanity theme and characters
-The red one with Megamix and the Mad Max movies on DVD
We know what pill thet use at the end, and I'm still happy for it
After seeing this, I’m pretty sure twinsanity was beenox’s least favorite game considering how many of the characters from that game didn’t make it in. My own suggestion, that I’m mad Lewis even forgot, would be evil crash. He gets a sticker and a reference in one of the tracks and that was it.
Well it was very unfinished and unpolished.
Many Karts and all of Tracks from Crash Tag Team Racing are missing from CTR Nitro Fueled, sad...
I wish Beenox releases expansion pack in the future, new adventure story (CNK version, and CTTR version) to make the game live again~
How are the Evil Twins, WIlly Wumpa Cheeks and maybe even Madam Amberly not in, but we got Megamix, Checkpoint box, Lab assistant and King Chicken? I think the skunk would be an even better pick, would definitely have some great voice lines i'd bet.
I personally also would've liked to see Evil Crash or maybe even as a skin, ashame he wasnt in while we did have sort of a reference to Evil Coco as a skin.

I completely forgot the game even existed until this video. Not because I don’t like it anymore or stopped caring, but because it was so long ago when all this was coming out. Fun times however.
I expected to see Bianca in the Spyro update, as it was specifically named "Spyro and *Friends",* but instead of getting a nice nod to heroes from all 3 games we got the final boss of the first one lol.
Also there is a bit of a shout out to the skunk in the form of a skin for Crash, and even Baby Crash if I'm not mistaken.
A Titan would've been cool!

People thought Mr. Crumb was going to be a playable character. As well as Willy the Wombat.
The devs also teased Guy in a Crash Suit from the Crash Bandicoot game trailers.
Other than that, I personally wanted either the Brat Girl or Doom Monkey from Crash of the Titans. As well as maybe Stealth Elf because of the Skylanders Academy series. There is one more character I wanted to see but I forgot who it was and its now bothering me.
I remember really wanting them to add Elora and Bianca from Spyro, or even Ripto instead of Gnasty
I remember being disappointed that Madame Amberley wasn't added as part of the Halloween DLC, just because she was a very memorable character and had her own world in Twinsanity. I'd also have enjoyed a Piranha Plant similar to what Mario Kart did, but maybe shyed away for that exact reason. I'd also have liked to seen an expansion to the Spyro DLC as well, with part 1 being focused on Game 1, but 2 having Elora, Professor and Ripto and part 3 having Bianca, Sorceress and Moneybags for example. All of the additional characters such asSheila, Sgt. Byrd, Bentley and Agent 9 might have gone too far though.

Yo I just got this one and was looking through reviews this’ll be my first crash game and I’m excited to play with my brother.
Im actually suprised that beenox went so deep into the franchise that they the PSP exlusive karts and the unused kart from CTTR into the game
Interesting video. I stopped playing Crash games in the ps2 and Xbox years, so I’ve never heard of almost any of these guys. lol
Trouble is, with characters like the Evil Twins and Willie Wumpa Cheeks, because of the fates they meet in their own respective games, there would have to be a good reason for how they somehow come back.
If the game takes place after Warped and Crunch and Nina are in and all Nitro Kart and CTTR characters, i think the canon is kinda out the window and doesn't really need a lore explanation why they're in the game
Still remember the Crash reddit shilling for Mr. Crumb, some weird skeleton boss from a Crash handheld game; iirc he was added to Crash on the Run eventually
You forgot the PARK DRONES! I would love to see them in the game (same thing as the Lab Assistant)
I think most of Twinsanity's problem is it went through characters far too quickly to give them any real character for voice lines, recolors, skins... Earnest and the Skunk being prime examples. The Birds Duo though was an odd exception.
Talking about the Iron Checkpoint Crate, its exotic skins can be it's Crash On The Run counterparts. The nitro skin can have like green splotches on it while the frosty, inferno and oxide skins are the same.
Sad they didnt add the missing characters that you mentioned plus evil crash. I think they should had released one last update since they released Crash 4 game, could had released Crash 4 theme track along with Crash 4 skins for characters

It's a shame we didn't at least get the Evil Twins. Other Twinsanity characters like Madam Amberley and Rusty Walrus would've been a treat too.
They could add all these characters into a new crash racing game along with keeping all the ones they already have. Plus they could add all the nirto fueled tracks along with new ones.
Also R.I.P. CNK Dingodile I wanted that skin so bad :(
I'm sure that Beenox has an explanation for why each of the mentioned characters were not included.

As cart racing games go, this was the most entertaining of all. It was always fun to anticipate what they might add in the updates, too. This needs a sequel. It’s like the Crash people are either avoiding it, or somehow don’t realize this was the best thing they ever made.
I was playing CTR:NF trying to do some dev time trails and I was like why is this game not continuing with new maps

While not a Crash character it's annoying that Ripto didn't make it but made it into Crash Team Rumble.
This isn't a character, but Tawna in her Twinsanity design as a skin would've been cool. Also Crash in his disco outfit from the Wrath Of Cortex credits would've been funny.
The Skunk is *one* the most unappreciated and underrated characters from the Crash franchise (this is a joke lol)

Evil Twins, Wumpa Cheeks, and Viscount would've been a cool idea, complete with a rogues gallery-themed grand prix, and an Evil Crash skin.
Mr. Crumb would've been too much of a deep cut, but they could've had another King Chicken scenario in order to unlock that one skunk.
Also, they could've reconned the first Rilla Roo as "Fake Rilla Roo".

One character I thought would've been cool if he made it into the game was Evil Crash. I was kinda surprised that he wasn't added as a playable character or even a skin for Crash, but at least we still got a couple of references to him in the game, similarly to some of the other obscure characters.
Ripto definetly. The third main boss from Spyro maybe. But Ripto was a let down for me

you forgot about ripto and the sorceress, there were files for them found in the game alongside spyro, hunter and gnasty gnorc when the spyro and friends grand prix started
if the game's updates lasted fir more than just a year, then i would put them in another spyro grand prix with bianca alongside them

I thought Ripto was more iconic than Gnasty. As far as novelty characters go, one of the gasmask Tag Team Racers would have been fun.
I felt that the skins were lacklustre, I mean, Cortex but his skin is red? Instead of Cortex Coco??

Good video we need a CTR Nitro Fueled sequel. With new characters maybe even create your own characters.

If Beenox cared enough to make a sequel then they would have fixed the issues with online matchmaking. Sad
Evil Crash and Evil Cortex should have been skins in the game. I know Good Cortex never was actually in Twinsanity except for 1 deleted scene and concept art, but it still would have been cool.
Also, I’m still waiting for the modern console upgrade for Nitro Fueled. I’m not paying $40 just to play it on PS5.

I'd have loved to have seen a park drone as a racer. I think they might actually be my favourite of all the characters in Tag Team Racing.
I mean, if you're going to include Evil Coco, you might as well add Good Cortex.
Also, for Spyro characters, you could also add the Professor, Moneybags, or any number of the side characters from Spyro 3 like Sheila, Sgt Byrd, Bentley, or Agent 9.

Viscount deserves an appearance in a new Crash game. He had great potential but was wasted by appearing in one forgettable game and then never again.
Honestly, I'd have loved to see more generic enemies turned into racers, like the tribesmen, or the flytraps, which appear all over the series
Pretty much everyone. I loved the idea that anyone from the Crash series could be a playable character in CTR, it was my favorite part of the Grand Prix events and a pipeline dream of mine
The game could get a revival with new road map update since the buyout from microsoft but I doubt anything will come of it. Mario Kart 8 got its population boasted with new tracks from past games and additional characters. It can be done.

Definitely agree, Genre-Savvy Skunk should've made it to Nitro-Fueled - although I also would've loved to see more crossover characters like Ripto and Elora

I would have gladly traded Hunter for Ripto.
I just hope they future proof the game at some point. So much of its content is tied to the game's servers. When they inevitably cut support it's going to lock so much out forever.
It would have been hilarious if the skunk returned as a stage hazzard.
The skunk would've had all the mask powers just like King Chicken and the Iron Checkpoint Crate.
Bit of a pet peeve but “Viscount” is pronounced like “Vy-count”, like the biscuits.
As for the characters, I definitely missed the ones from Twinsanity the most but hopefully there’ll be another Crash kart game down the line which is more accessible to casual players. Maybe something more like CTTR’s style but with far smoother mechanics i.e. Mario Kart.
I have several friends who just couldn’t get to grips with CTR’s drift mechanics despite being far better than average at pretty much every single racing game they play. It just ended up putting them off it because they couldn’t even finish online races against me or anyone else who was able to utilise drift boosting and they definitely weren’t alone. The difficulty is the main thing that killed the game’s longevity so hopefully we can get all these characters plus the ones that didn’t make it in a new, more accessible game

It might be because I grew up with the PS2 and didn't get the classic PS1 games until years later (I swear Crash Twinsanity might be a legitimate contender for the one game that had the most impact on me as a kid) but I felt like Twinsanity was a bit neglected in Nitro Fueled, though looking through the characters I feel like it makes sense Nina was the only one to make it in. The Evil Twins would have made sense for a more Twinsanity-exclusive rep, but I think figuring out how they would work in a kart would have been the tricky part, though I might have just gone with having them in some device inside the kart or floating above it or something. Amberly could have made sense and given Megamix is in there she could have worked, but given she's not one of the most memorable parts of Twinsanity I can see why they skipped her. Rusty was just in one segment and I feel like the reference in Rustland might have been enough, and while I'm convinced the skunk is one of the best jokes incorporated into a video game I feel like putting him as a playable character wouldn't be as funny as the idea of doing it would be. I wouldn't be caught dead trying to disrespect Twinsanity but I honestly think Viscount was more likely to get into the game than anyone from Twinsanity besides Nina
