You are an excellent instructor, and your tips made my first attempt at drywall a breeze, especially scrape as much as you can to prevent extra sanding, and wet the sandpaper to prevent extra dust. This video was perfect. Thanks Phil.
Please show us how to prime, I really enjoyed this video and your other video about mudding. You explain things in such a way that it fully engaged me, I would watch videos like this all day. Thank you Sir!
Phil, thank you so much for posting! As I am sure everyone else who has watched, I appreciate your video with the simple explanation & the demonstration on how to mud & sand! I am beginning my first big project & want to see more from you! Do you have a video you can upload on what to do after sanding to prime the walls? I would imagine there is a lot of particulates that needs wiped down, but I don't know!
Great video! Between this and the mudding video I am feeling much more confident to take on the next room! I'd love one on how to correct mistakes after the wall has been primed. That's where I am currently stuck in my home.
Phil, thank you for producing what you have done, I know that it does take time and effort to do. It would have been nice to see further steps in your educational videos such as skim coats and priming. It would also be nice to see the walls primed and shown what to look for in touch up after the primer coat. Again, thank you for what you have done.
Another fantastic video from you Sir. You are a very good man, you are using your time to help people. I am glad that I turned in to you station. God bless! Stay safe.
About to fill in early 2000s recessed florescent tube lighting in my house. Your videos are great. Thank you for your time making the videos. Pls, make more!!!
Use a 6 inch drywall knife and scrape it completely down and then you'll have to take mud thin it down roll it on with a half inch and a half roller then Tip It Off you'll have to skim coat the whole ceiling to make it smooth
I've never seen a sander mop or whatever that is. So would ab electric sander be too much? Side note, your mic is really picking up the sound of the sanding. Made it a lil hard to hear, but I got what you were saying.
Thank you for the helpful videos, looking forward to more as we're remodeling our house, room by room. And I'm cheap so...hiring contractors isn't an option. LOL
Hi Phil, thanks for your videos. Could you teach us how to build interior walls and put up drywall? For example, if I was going to build a bedroom in a basement, how would I go about building the walls and putting up the drywall? You're a great teacher, so it'd be awesome to learn more from you.
@@PhilFast That would be awesome Phil. Just so you know, I believe you have the potential to help a LOT of people with your videos. There are a lot of us out here that could benefit from your expertise. I hope you make more videos so that I have a place to go where I can learn from someone as humble and fun to learn from as you! Your videos give a very "hands on" feeling, so you feel like you can get going right away. Thank you!
Can or should I sand in between coats. Given this is my very first attempt at plastering, it’s not too flash so I thought a light sand in between might help.
How to deal with busted sheetrock corners? Every piece has a corner that is damaged, or my son and I bust a corner moving them around..can you still screw to wall or ? Houston,TX.. thanks for video
I removed popcorn on 2 ceilings, the ceilings look great actually. Now do I have to sand the ENTIRE ceiling or just where I do the repairs? Also how do you wipe it clean before priming?
I grew up watching my dad do this. Now I'm having to do this and he is gone. Help me out here, Phil. Where is the priming video? What grit are you using? Is it the same grit all the time? I thought my dad sanded between each coat.
Ok…give me more! Please 🙂. What do you mean, I can prime the wall and then see what I need to fix?!? I have been sanding SO MUCH trying to make it “perfect”. Now I think I am doing too much!
I just watched your mudding and now sanding video. I feel way more confident now that I have seen you. You are a great teacher! Thank you!
Thanks Phil. My wife thinks I'm great & a jack of all trades after fixing our drywall. I didn't tell her it was because I watched your videos! Lol
Glad to help brother just check out my other videos tell me what you think

One question, Phil - What grit of sand paper, and is it a special type of sand paper?
Thank you.
Your videos are easy to follow and full of great tips. Just in time after getting rooked into drywalling my daughter's fixer upper.
I'm glad it helped you subscribing received notification of new videos
@@PhilFast which company invented the drywall sanding machine?
No clue
@@PhilFast it seem like no one know when or who invented or manufactured the first drywall sanding machines, not even the professional
In 1939 Robert and Stan Ames invented the 1st set dry wall sander
Reading through the comments & it looks like you've got a fan club! I'm joining the fan club...we want more Phil Fast!

I was hoping he was going to say what grade of sand paper to use. I'm guessing maybe 100 to 120 grit?
Where's that next video, Phil????
Phil, I don’t see the next video in your series my friend. I need more Phil in my DIY life please!
Thank you for the tips. May I ask which grit of sandpaper should we use for sanding the compound, please?
120

Exactly what I needed thanks a mil phil 👍

What is the goal in sanding? To fade edges ? Or to reduce bump?
Both aculy
Great video Phil! Hopefully you will keep on making more
phil seems like a really cool dude
what kind of grid paper you Use? from step one to final step before priming? it will be helpful if you explain yourself
Use sanding screen 80 and a 120 Grant
What grade of sandpaper are you using and what do you use to clean up the dust on the walls from sanding? Thanks!
I use 100 grit and then take a broom and brush down the wall
Have you created the priming video?
Question
Do you sand between coats and do you primer first and then texture.
I've never seen a sander mop or whatever that is.
So would ab electric sander be too much?
