I think I read where Queen would have been reminded of Freddie all the time if Marc was with them and wanted that Freddie vibe but not someone who sounded so much like him. It just would have been hard for them.
Because Marc showed up 3 years after they hired Lambert and when they already started performing together, which means Lambert was already under a contract with QP. Plus, Maylor didn’t want to compete with a Freddie-like voice and musicianship. Their show is about them, not about Freddie.
