Oh how I do remember my elderly neighbor winding up such a mower over and over and over again and it never started. Obviously there was something wrong with the mower. But all he knew to do was wind it up and release the lever to try and start it. And that went on for a long time before he would give up...for a while. I was only a kid at the time. But I do remember the clicking windings...and never start!
I was a kid but remember the crank start mowers. We had 3 over the years.
It's something you don't see anymore
My dad had one and soon as I was able he had me running it. Wish they still made that kind of starter.
It's neat. I'm trying to find other wind up mowers.
Tecumsehs were good motors. Still have an old tiller with one. Was sorry to see them go.
I had a go cart with a tecumseh 6.5 hp on it. Good memories
Holy shit!!! I remember that,my old auntie had one and used to pay me 6 bucks to mow her 3/4 acre lot ,wow how far we have come!!! TY
P.S. 52 years ago
I got 3 bucks and tons of plants to mow around. The lady would stand out there and watch me to make sure I didn't mow down any of them.
Your welcome
Awesome mower, diaphragm carb with low and high speed adjustment. Gotta love the pre 1967 LAV (lightweight aluminium vertical) Tecumseh engines!
Couldn't agree more!
I grew up using the same mower!
I know nothing about this but it looked magical.🤣🤣
Thanks
I remember we had one of these as a kid. Cool concept

Sounds like a carb issue to me.
Looks later than '61. We had one but it was a Briggs and Stratton, about 1966. That starter worked, but they didn't make it very many years.
I'm looking for a Briggs and Stratton windup starter
Great Fantastic little machine
It sure is!
You definitely got your money's worth out of that.
what the heck every lawn mower should have that. Only if the 60s had internet. Look what we missed out on.
I know right
Very cool!
Thanks
Nice!
Thanks!
We had one
