Thank you for this demonstration. I bought your beautiful snowflake patterns on Etsy and this was the one thing I wasn’t sure how to do. So glad to have seen this!
@@11Frivole It truly was. Your method works better for me than the others I've tried, and I like that you explain "the works" of it as you go. Thank you. 🥰
Hello Dana, glad you are loving tatting! Whether it's needle or shuttle it's all good. :-) I have a beginner's video for shuttle tatting which is proving popular, have you seen it?
This is far beyond where I’m at right now, but interesting to see what is possible. Also I have to say that this little sample looks like a man wearing a top hat! Hehe
Sorry to bother you, I'm a beginner in tatting and it's really fun. I've just found your channel and watching different techniques. Does this technique automatically turns your work from horizontal to vertical? Is this technique only used in begginings/endings?; because, I can't imagine how one can form a circular piece with the thrown ring still facing upwards. I hope my inquiry was clear and you could give some general info about it if you have the time. Have a nice day! :)
Hello Xristina, if I understand correctly what you are saying, no, this doesn't turn the work from horizontal to vertical but can be used in designs to create different shapes. I often use this technique when designing snowflakes for example. If you look here: leblogdefrivole.blogspot.com/2020/10/snowflake-2020.html The tips of my Aeris snowflake design have Josephine Knots and rings thrown off self-closing mock rings. I hope this helps!
I know this is for shuttle tatting but is this sequence able to be done with needle tatting? I just purchased your snow crystals pattern and didn't realize it was for shuttle tatting.
Hello Kyrston, I'm sorry but I don't know enough about needle tatting to advise you on this one. I feel like everything should be do-able whether you are using needle or shuttle but I'm not experienced enough with a needle to tell you how to do it. I hope a needle tatter can give you the information you need. Apologies also that I should maybe make it clearer on my listings that I write patterns as a shuttle-tatter. I will amend my listings. :-)
@@kyrstondenlinger698 Thank you Kyrston, your comment caused me to revise all my listings and make sure they all state that they are written for the shuttle, which they now do! :-)
Hi Kaylee, apologies for taking so long to reply. I make the shuttles I use in my videos and regularly have some for sale in my Etsy shop if you are interested: www.etsy.com/shop/lacossette.
Thank you so very much for your clear instruction and demonstration
You're welcome Debra! :-)
It's a very helpful demonstration! Seeing this gave me just the perfect inspiration for the center of a choker I'm working on!
Sounds nice Ariane, wish you could show me your choker when it's done! :-)
I have been waiting to see that colourful Art Deco shuttle up close! It’s very pretty
Thank you! Glad you like it! :-)

Perfect demonstration! So good to see another video from you.

Thanks Maria! Like a little cowboy... that made me laugh! :-)
I’ve just started needle tatting and I love it. I can’t wrap my brain around shuttle tatting yet but I sure do want to learn!!

Love this. Wish you still made shuttles!
Hello, thank you for your comment. I still do make shuttles and will have a few listed this evening. :-)
