I play the Bari for the Central Islip High School Marching band. It's such a beast. I recently got a new professional Yamaha Bari. All black.. Gold keys.. Love it.
Wish that could be my school because we only got a single baritone saxophone and they’re so expensive so we can’t get a second one (I hope one day the school will have a fundraiser to buy new instruments for the band including more tenors and baris 🙏)
I've been playing the bari sax for years, and I learned this song by ear. I honestly play it every day of my life! P.S. The Bari Sax plays great defense in a number of sports.
hey that's nice!!! I started playing bari a couple years ago becase I wanted to be Lisa Simpson, and now bari is the love of my life. It's hard to believe that something thing can be so perfect haha :)
yeahh sure!! :) when you start use soft reeds, they will help you with the low sounds!!! and don't get mad if at first seems a little hard!!! you will love it!!! pd: don't play bari if you haven't eaten in a while, it will be exhausting and you will feel like dying!!!! hahaha
+Brianna Lewis So how's it going, the bari playing i mean and did you play anything else before? I have a vintage C G. conn Bari, 1914 to 1917! Still needs a little repair before playing.
This is by far one of the coolest covers I've heard on sax, does anyone know where to get the sheet music for it (I've been looking) or if he did it himself?
I play the alto sax, and i tried out for the barri sax. because im in band , so when i did the first note i played was a low D lol my band director said that most people have trouble playing that note, i have always wanted to play the saxaphone because of the beautiful noise it makes especially when there is a duet with the alto sax and tenor, OMG you are so good at playing the barri. i am trying to follow my brothers footsteps, i loved the barri for the low notes and how they sound,..
I am so glad you mastered alto in sixth grade, I wish the world had more musicians who could master their instrument by the age of 11! All those professional musicians such as Otis Murphy who are still trying to achieve a level of skill over their saxophones are so funny because you already have done it in 1/10 of the time at least.
Marilyn M. Monroe I play Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bari. Been doing it for six years. I am still learning how to play new songs, and new ways to sound good on my instruments. There is no way to master an instrument, especially if this is your first/second year playing. You've got a lot to learn.
I finally understood the bari=) as much as there is too the bari and its meaning, the Bari sax isnt always meant for just bass but it is a complement.....to everything=)
This is pretty much the main video that got me to start playing bari, I watched it pretty every day until I started and now this is my 3rd year playing bari
I was in a gifted and talented program at my school for playing alto last year. This year I started to slack and now watching this,I want to play again. : D !
i'm a flute player and I love the bari so much because they are right behide me in band. I'll be in 8th grade soon and I'll be put as a piccolo player since I'm a mastered flute player. Because my band teacher said that the people who play harder pieces of music better than some others get to play piccolo.
I'm in grade 6 and playing trombone but am switching to bari sax next year and wasn't sure if I was making the right decision now I know I'm switching. This instrument is wicked!
i play tenor for marching band and i play bari for jazz and concert band. nice vid by the way! oh and advice for anyone switching to bari form clarinet of alto..... ITS NOT ABOUT EMBOUCHURE you gotta be more loose with it
oh yes. I meant to say it not as MUCH about embouchure as some other upper woodwinds. obviously ever instrument has some sort of embouchure. Thats what i meant to say. Thanks for correcting me.
I want my dads bari, after hearing this makes me want to get into playing again, used to play alto many years ago. Good insperation to people, good job man.
This is truly amazing dude, I can't believe it. the only reason I can't get a Bari sax is because I don't have the money. might make the jump from alto to Bari though!
Wow! Good job! it takes skill to do that! I'm 13 and I play Bari but I couldn't do that! (well I've been playing for a week so I'm new and I switched from clarinet. Mouthpiece is huge!) good job!
I play soprano all the way down to bari all the saxes are amazing to play an fun as well, I would say the only thing hard thing about bari would be air support. You need a lot of air to play this sax. I consider this my favourite sax out of the 4 I play
I play alto is marching and concert band, but I play bari in chamber (woodwind only small band). Played it for the first time today. My school got me a Meyer mouthpiece. Bari is definitely different, but not too bad.
I've started playing bari this year and I was wondering if there was any ex erodes I need to do to get make my tone better. Any help would be appreciated. Have a nice day
Yes it is @snekles I play bari sax for concert and marching season when you first switch to bari you got to get use to the bigger mouthpiece you do have change your embouchure a bit
Great job with both your Alto and Baritone buddy!! =D It was fun, the look on your face around 0:42 - 0:43 was all like, "shit my lungs are gonna collapse..." and your sigh at 1:45....hahaha, I've wanted to learn baritone but it looks like you need a barrel-chest to keep up with'r....might just go tenor =P Keep it up man! You're great!
i love the bari, i play one in my seventh grade concert and marching band, and i kinda suck. i wish i could sound like this. im getting there but i'm not that great. any tips?
Hello Dallas Ranger. I am doing well and you? I rarely play the saxophone anymore, also because the last video didn't get many views. I couldn't keep up with the success of Viva La Vida.
I am playing tenor sax now but i am thinking to get a bari sax. Is it possible to play the songs which an alto sax can play on baritone saxophone ? Because i love the way baritone sounds and want to play solo pieces on bari. Thank you !
@AlainahB be strong... lol kidding :P but it really comes down to your embrochure...the bari mouthpiece is huge compared to the altos and your gonna have to adjust, but with time youll get it...also spaces b/w the fingers on a bari are larger...also youll need more air.....good luck to you sir, and enjoy playing...bari is a killer instrument, deff worth playing :)
advice to people who want to switch to bari from a bari player of three years: the embouchure doesn't matter that much, you just need to have really good air support and you'll be fine :)
Yeah, it's the mic quality. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford a studio-quality microphone. And most standard mics can't pick up the full glory of a Baritone Sax. BECAUSE IT'S TOO GOOD FOR 'EM! Anyhoo, Great job man! Did you pull it off by ear, or did you use sheet music?
Finally, a Bari part that isn't all whole notes, half notes and repeated quarter notes :)
Umm, any jazz piece...
Inoli Nissanka Poor you. Our band literally has a piece centered around bari, including multiple solos, and I'm the only bari player :D
Alec Glasberg Can I just be you? My band is centered around Alto..
Alec Glasberg same
Look up Irish trilogy bari part
BARI PLAYERS UNITE!
alex khalifa sure!

I play the Bari for the Central Islip High School Marching band. It's such a beast. I recently got a new professional Yamaha Bari. All black.. Gold keys.. Love it.

This video is the reason I started playing bari
hey that's nice!!! I started playing bari a couple years ago becase I wanted to be Lisa Simpson, and now bari is the love of my life. It's hard to believe that something thing can be so perfect haha :)
I have been playing alto for about a year, and im going to bari in a few weeks. Any tips?
yeahh sure!! :) when you start use soft reeds, they will help you with the low sounds!!! and don't get mad if at first seems a little hard!!! you will love it!!! pd: don't play bari if you haven't eaten in a while, it will be exhausting and you will feel like dying!!!! hahaha
OK thanks, i have really been looking forward to it, but i didnt know much so this helped a bunch!!
+Brianna Lewis So how's it going, the bari playing i mean and did you play anything else before? I have a vintage C G. conn Bari, 1914 to 1917! Still needs a little repair before playing.
that house though
This is by far one of the coolest covers I've heard on sax, does anyone know where to get the sheet music for it (I've been looking) or if he did it himself?
One of my favorite videos of all time. Amazing job. Truly.
I've started Bari yesterday (mastered alto) and I'm in 6th grade. The Bari is a beast the deep and jazzy sound is amazing.
Scott Smith Lmfao I agree with your post so much. This child... Irritating.
I've already mastered Alto and Tenor, and I am onto the Bari. I'm the same age as Rishaun.
Marilyn M. Monroe You literally just missed the entire point of this post... Please, understand how music works, you can never master your instrument.
Marilyn M. Monroe I play Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bari. Been doing it for six years. I am still learning how to play new songs, and new ways to sound good on my instruments. There is no way to master an instrument, especially if this is your first/second year playing. You've got a lot to learn.

ItsVisiion - I play Bari alto tenor and soprano sax they all sound so amazing especially the tenor
ItsVisiion - my band director is trying to get my school to buy a bari for me to play
ItsVisiion - same
i'm a flute player and I love the bari so much because they are right behide me in band. I'll be in 8th grade soon and I'll be put as a piccolo player since I'm a mastered flute player. poo poo bee movie saxphone is the easiest instrument in my opinion
I'm not sure if it's good to switch from TROMBONE to A SAXOPHONE
I just started playing saxophone and i get to play the bari saxophone next year!
i play tenor for marching band and i play bari for jazz and concert band. nice vid by the way! oh and advice for anyone switching to bari form clarinet of alto..... ITS NOT ABOUT EMBOUCHURE you gotta be more loose with it
Snekles thanks
I play bark sax 2
Snekles it's *not* about embochure??! Don't you mean it's *all* about embochure?
oh yes. I meant to say it not as MUCH about embouchure as some other upper woodwinds. obviously ever instrument has some sort of embouchure. Thats what i meant to say. Thanks for correcting me.
I also play it for marching band now too.

I made the switch and the bari is easier for me and it just has a great sound.
I am doing this next year in band, as a second instrument for jazz band. Can't wait to try it :)
BARI SAX IS EPIC, nice playing!
This looks like a great song to play for a talent show.
Wow! Good job! it takes skill to do that! I'm 13 and I play Bari but I couldn't do that! (well I've been playing for a week so I'm new and I switched from clarinet. Mouthpiece is huge!) good job!

Just started on Bari sax, it is my first saxophone, it is great fun playing it.

Hello Dallas Ranger. I am doing well and you? I rarely play the saxophone anymore, also because the last video didn't get many views. I couldn't keep up with the success of Viva La Vida.
dude ur awesome!!!!!!!!!!! how long hav u been playing saxaphone? ive been playing for a year, u got any tips if u played a long time?
great cover!
hi, just wonder where I could find a music sheet for a Bass Clef Eflat Bflat baritone. Thanks
great tone!
Just a tip if you do this again, put the mic a little further away and put a thin sheet on it, it will sound much better, nice job tho btw. :)
I am playing tenor sax now but i am thinking to get a bari sax. Is it possible to play the songs which an alto sax can play on baritone saxophone ? Because i love the way baritone sounds and want to play solo pieces on bari. Thank you !
umut kapıcı yes, you wouldn’t have to change the music it would only be an octave lower.
What make of horn you use man? Real nice job on this btw, keep up the awesome work!!
i would really want to know the name of that book. i am dying to play that song

What beautiful bari...
Where can you find the notes and the backing track?
Aaaah, I love bari :)
Good job Chris
dude that was epic
advice to people who want to switch to bari from a bari player of three years: the embouchure doesn't matter that much, you just need to have really good air support and you'll be fine :)
Considering starting baritone sax.
How long have you been playing for? Really liked it man
great i think you put just the right amount of accentyness (don't know the word lol) on each note, well done :)
I'm a brass player but you did really well.
I think I'm gonna start playing the bari sax in middle school band this year- any tips?
Playing alto now but going to baritone sax sometime this month
Yeah, it's the mic quality. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford a studio-quality microphone. And most standard mics can't pick up the full glory of a Baritone Sax.
BECAUSE IT'S TOO GOOD FOR 'EM!
Anyhoo, Great job man! Did you pull it off by ear, or did you use sheet music?
Awesome dude!!!
