Hey great review, I went and got the hiby r6 3, I had a fiio m11 plus and the hiby absolutely blows it away its crazy, so glad I bought the hiby.
Thanks for watching.
How does it compare
This was better than the Fiio m11 plus???
11:42 NOT AT ALL. there is a HUGE difference in the amplification processing and jitter reduction not to mention the care to avoid android resampling to 48 kHz. To say the only difference is the lack of calls is a complete underestimation of the audio capabilities of this gorgeous stuff
Yeah. You are right. That is a Very Good Video. I bought my Hiby R6 III Digital Music Player in March 2023. Hiby R6 III is Very Good. I am still enjoying & listening my Hiby R6 III Digital Music Player. Hiby R6 III sounds Very Good with MP3 Files Music, and Amazon, Qobuz, & Tidal Streaming Music. Thanks.
great~this helps
Why play mp3 on this though it's made for lossless
Yeah besides LG and Sony, pretty much all brands followed suit with the removal of headphone jack. Hopefully there's a smartphone in the future which has a dedicated dac inside like the LG phones and can have a balanced 2.5mm port
Thanks for the review. Just wanted to check - does the R6 iii have FM Radio?
Thanks for your video. Can you help me re. a micro SC card? I've installed it, let the Hiby R6 III format it successfully. But I am unable to upload / copy files to the SD card. Only the 64gb storage memory is visible. I've used the HiByMusic uploader successfully but only to the internal memory, not the SD card. Thanks!
You should try the soundfield plugin! I have this player and the r3 pro saber 2012. The R6 III doesn't sound that much better but it does sound better. I got the R3 as an at-home listening dap and I got the R3 pro saber for on the go seeing as it doesn't feel like I'm carrying anything extra even with my Note 10+. I do find the R3 to be buggy though. I had an old cd collection and my best friend dropped his boxes of old CDs on me as well so I just ripped everything onto an sd card and threw it into the R3. On the R6 I use Amazon HD and that works well. I did notice the UA-cam lag too. Glad I'm not going crazy. Lol.
Thanks for watching. And thanks for the suggestion. I may have to try it out.
Well done video. You actually having me thinking about buying the R6III. I have the HiBy R5Gen2. The R5II HIBY player app does not allow me to shuffle all the music I have on it. It only picks 125 songs to shuffle through. But I have Pulsar Player and PowerAmp to make up for it. By the way, I was able to change on the PowerAmp the waveform that shows the music playing along to a straight line with the thingy on it so I would scrub back and forth more easily than trying to do it with that wave form thing. You change it in settings. Your video was very informative and highlighted many things I was curious about. I do have a huge CD collection and other music I purchased over the years and do find the SD card very useful to load them into for listening when I do not use streaming services. i do use UA-cam Music and XM app. But I have not subscribed to HIFI streaming service you mentioned because they are a bit expensive and I already have music I want to listen to loaded on the SD card. I find it hard to believe that some people do not own any music and count on streaming services for their music. If you are not close to WIFI or if an artist has a dispute and removes the music, you won't have music to listen to. You are at their mercy. Back in my day, we listened to music on the radio (FM) and it was free to listen to but it had commercials. Streaming services are like FM but you have to pay for it! Yes I know that you get higher resolution audio and there is something to be said about that! But it does not hurt to own your own music and you can lend it out or copy it! I do foresee a day when I will subscribe to Tidal to check it out and may indeed continue streaming. But it is nice to know I have a physical back up of the music I love. Thanks again for your review. I was set on buying a FIIO M11 but will do more research and chose one. I have a Note 8 that serves as an excellent music player beside my Apple 15 Pro Max. I just purchased the R6iii for $399 on Hiby Store. And I charge my DAPs everyday! Why let it go two or three days before charging? I never understood why a Wounded Warrior Project when you have the VA to go to for medical needs?
Did you feel necessary to use class A with Sundara? Or AB?
how is the software ? I have the Fiio X5, it's very very slow
Just wondering what sort of activity gave you such a huge blisters on your palm?
I wonder if there would be latency issues when viewing videos locally stored on the SD Card,
Do you rip your tidal songs for offline play, or do you use their app? The r3 pro has no memory, how does it stream tidal without caching the music, can you offline save songs to the microsd?
Hola Josh, Tidal si permite guardar las descargas en la tarjeta micro SD, puedes revisar en la configuración de la app.
You can set download destination to SD card in Tidal settings, but this player is sometimes very slow in reading offline Tidal (and Qobuz + SoundCloud), sometimes I was waiting over six minutes for the music to start. I returned the player because I couldn't put up with this.
Thanks for watching. I don't. I just use the app.
I think not. Just wifi . The cheap player that can download offline is Fiio M6
So I have this software that downloads songs/playlist from Spotify to my computer, and I have the option to download as flac files… and I’m hearing flac files are better than mp3 especially for hi res mp3s. So my question is, are flac audio files from Spotify good quality and worth it over mp3 ?? Someone please let me know ! Thank you
FLAC is always better than mp3. But that software you are using to download FLAC files from Spotify isn't genuine as Spotify doesn't have an option for high-res/lossless music playback.
thanks for your review, good info. You said you use tidal, havent you tried apple music? Also has good quality music, only not so good interface. But cheaper than tidal.
Thanks for watching. I'm an Android user, don't hold it against me, ha, ha, ha,.. So, no I haven't tried Apple Music. I always thought Apple software was restricted to Apple products but if not, then I'm open to try it out.
I used Apple Music for a long time. It’s great. But they volume boost all their songs and I find that tidal has a smoother more natural presentation
Dear Bro, which DAP you will prefer Fiio M11s or Higy R6 Gen 3?
I don't have the Fiio M11s to compare. But before buying the Hiby R6 Gen 3, I watched other videos with both DAPS and also compared both from a price to features comparisons and decided on the Hiby R6 Gen 3 over the Fiio because of more features and the most current Android Operating System, and the newer Qualcomm Chipset.
Nice review. I’m getting mine tomorrow. Let me know if you want a lead on getting flac copies of your music. The government corporate entertainment complex has users overly frightened.I’ve been told this my law professors working in tbr field.
where you go for getting your flac music?
Ibasso dx320 has the 660 in it as well.
Thanks for the review 😊
Thanks for watching. I greatly appreciate it!
It's a flagship device while hiby is mid-tier.
@@dmytrotarasov9477 yes it is
What do you recommend for a good bass heavy iem? I've currently got the Mangird xenns up.
Akg n5005 get them you won't be disappointed
Sony z1r
Got a pair of the ifi go pod with Meteor, will see how it compares to the Xenns up
I got moondrop variations.
The sub bass is ridiculous but controlled….can’t imagine anyone being disappointed in the bass department with them.
Thanks for watching. I don't really own to many iems at the moment. I did have a Sony Extra Bass IEM but the wire on the right ear broke a little while ago. I've read and heard about the Muse Power and the Raptgo Hook X are Bass Heavy with really good sub bass and not bloated sounding. And those are the Two iem's I'm interested in at the moment and may purchase in the future.
So you mean there is no need of a DAP for those relying on Spotify?
I like yourself I have to lg V60 but lg no long supports it.
And the hunt began first was Ibasso dx170 which was good but not enough power for some of my headphones. Next was hiby r6lll and I really liked all the adjustments that I could make and I like VB or A amplifier.
The hardest part was the Ibasso DX170 has much better bass and a bit cleaner, resolving than the hiby, I keeped the hiby and returned the dx170 and ordered the Ibasso dx320.
Wow I love them both!!!
So I use the Hiby r6lll as my around town dap and the Ibasso dc320 as my stay at home or for long walks in the park and anything non-work or rain related. I live in Seattle.
Thank you for sharing your video and all the details that you brought forth and your joy with all of us.
Thanks for watching. I deeply appreciate your time and for taking the time to comment. I am also considering the iBasso DX320 but I can't afford it at the moment as I'm currently paying for my trainer's re-certification and in the process of moving to another place here in California. Glad you love both the Hiby R6 Gen 3 and the iBasso DX320 hope you have lots of enjoyment from the both for a very long time.
Hello mate I am trying to decide between Hiby R6 Gen III & iBasso DX 170. I know that DX 170 SQ sounds better than the R6 in it's form. But did you get to try the new DRX10K plugin on the R6, it's supposed to improve bass performance & dynamics quite a lot. Do you think with this plugin the R6 Gen III SQ can math the DX 170? A reply would be really appreciated, Cheers!
@@NealzOfficial I will look into this and will post a reply.
@@GoldenRvrmuch appreciated bro 👍
@@NealzOfficial ok I’ve had the chance to do some experimenting with the DRX10K and it much better with in on vs off. But I’m not you and can only give you my tastes.
I did like the bass on the dx170 more than the Hiby the problems I had with the dx170 was the power output power-hungry, headphones, not enough power to drive it at the volumes I like, but again I’m not you.
What I do love about the Hiby are the fine tuning options I have which ibasso doesn’t give you that is the reason I chose to keep the Hiby and the Ibasso dx320.
I would recommend you get the Hiby I’m sure you will like all the tweeks to the sound you can do on it versus the Ibasso!
looking at this player. good review. try to get a listen with the focal clear.
Thanks for watching. I would love to to have a listen with the Focal Clear and own one but due to current circumstances can't afford it at the moment.
Thanks for the video. I also fucking hate that Tidal QR code on my Hiby R3 ii, that was one of the reasons I ordered R6 iii 2 days ago!
tidal-gui - download your Tidal music to a hard drive.
Interesting you mention how having updates is useful… then talked about how the update removed and/or created bugs…
The little hiby r3 is still useful for a number of reasons 1) is SMALL. It can fulfill any pocket while the other doesn’t. 2) in theory it doesn’t get old because there is no android to “older”. In practice with its lower battery perhaps has lesser longevity than R6. I have shanling m3x with android 7 (!) and audio apps work perfectly. Also r3pro saber 2022 is quite powerful given its size and in my experience I didn’t have any connection issue. BUT and there is a HUGE BUT my r3 saber 22 didn’t work any more, the screen one day drop dead after 3 or 4 months
no streaming service beats an offline local library, now report to the docks the Ship Sails soon
mine delayed af if using it usb dac
Thx
Is it better than a Fiio m11s?
The problem with those Fiios this the battery extending after a year and breaking the rear part
I have Tempotec V6 Dap which apart from using older android and chipset , shouldn’t be so different. And 30:58 with Amazon music app I can see it is NOT bitperfect
41:17 have you tried Qobuz?
Qubuz sounds fantastic on the hiby.
40:46 rutracker please. Lots of hi res and SACDs
I'll correct the author. This device has three color option. Grey. Black. Navy blue.
51:09 with class Ab or A?
Both
Hiby can install a sim slot. Then BOOM 😂
Oh man, my neighbor got a box from that place in texas that makes hiby daps, I better steal it while I can
This player didn't work for me, I want to download a lot of music with streaming apps for offline listening, and it would take several minutes to load that content. I would get so pissed off waiting for the music to start that I wasn't in the mood to enjoy it. Otherwise, I thought it was very good, if you want to use streaming when online, or play local files from folders, then you might be happy with it.
So Android 12 makes longer battery life? Jojo that advantage is destroyed by the Class A amp.
I use the AB amp mode, as I don't notice any difference in sound.
False, android updates remove two features for every one they add. Don't spread corporate propaganda.
If I ask you for details on that clsim, Will you accuse me of being a corporate stooge?
Dude this video is tedious. You could have done this review in 12 mins. Respect people’s time
