Thanks for another great tutorial. I love that you don’t assume the person watching has a certain level of knowledge, you just start at the very beginning of experience level 0 of FPP. Like you I’d have to unpick those blocks as they’d bug me every single time I looked at it and my eyes would go straight to the mistake. I bet it was fun unpicking all those seams!
I'm rather new to quilting. My first quilt I really didn't know much about quilting so I didn't care too much about how it turned out, my second quilt I did So I tried to but every piece perfectly which didn't happen and I ended up with my pieces eve l ending up too short so I did start cutting all of my pieces too big and then sewing on the correct line then cutting off the extra. Which made my second quilt turn out much better. Still not prefect or even great but it is better and it's good. So thank you for the tip to cut the pieces bigger than they need to be and confirming my choice and my confidence in my choices. Thank you for doing these and being very descriptive Becca. It really does help us that are new to quilting. I would have been entirely lost on how to do this pattern if you didn't explain it in detail the way you did. Thank you. I want to try to do this one.
Fantastic tutorial! I needed the refresher. I’m making a FPP pattern for what ultimately will be a show quilt. I have some sharp angles and tiny pieces to deal with so I will be using an “Add an Eighth” ruler. I’m inspired! And….it’s an easy fix. I would do it.
Only the newer add a quarter inch rulers have the tapered side. If your ruler does not have it, you can just use a heavy piece of paper, such as the little subscription rectangles that are included in magazines.
I would probably change it. I have trouble with bias, as in the triangles. Do you interface those types of pieces or starch them "stiff" before you cut? I also struggle with determining what size to cut if none is given. Do you have a trick? I thouroughly enjoyed this tutorial
Please don’t think I’m stalking you if I watch this tutorial over and over and over again. I just purchased the Dragon Fruit kit…lord I’m terrified!! My brain does not grasp the fabric down sew up equation or whatever it is. 🤪😩 The kit hasn’t even arrived yet and I’m already stressin. (That can’t be good 😝) one step at a time…I’m thinkin I will be doin a whole lotta prayin, cussin, and margarita mix…maybe not in that order. 🤞😜

I’d leave the dragonflies bodies, there are always variations in nature.
