The reason Atticus speaks in Shakespearean is because in the japanese version he’s speaking like he’s from an old samurai period drama (see like, ghost of tsurushima and Yakuza ishin) and they decided to localize that by doing shakespearean and I just think that’s neat

I think it's because of Don Quijote a spanish character from a book of the same, since it's based in Spain and all that, he thought windmills were giants.
A jolly good show of them, to alter the eloquence of a speaker, simply to fit our local tounge and improve our recognition of his vocal stylings.

Behind black and white, these games have one of the best stories. The legendaries have so much personality and you actually connect with them and build up anticipation to finally use them in battle
Story is something that Pokémon rarely does right but I think they did a pretty good job this generation. I especially love the story with Arvin and his dog. The only other games that can compete are black and white and sun and moon.

@@glich984 yeah I agree. They were the games I started with so I like them a lot but I’m a little biased. The main problem is the hand holding and the cutscenes because it makes the games a slugfest and hurts replay ability. I do like that we are getting to see a lot of their concepts being brought back though with the titan Pokémon basically being totem Pokémon and with the more tropical feel.

He did a really good job with some rap battles in a few beginning/very early videos
The thing about the Ryme battle is that she can also get the same stat boosts from the crowd, mainly if she knocks out one of your Pokémon. Feels like a fight that can be super easy or super hard depending on how things play out.
I never noticed that, wasn't certain I ever saw that from her and I think she KOed 1 of mine
@@MattZRJSRoxy She got an omniboost on her Toxtricty when I battled her. Still took it out quickly, but that could have been bad if I had less counters.
I think it might even be if she hits you with a super effective move. None of my Pokémon fainted but she did get quite a few boost
I can't wait to cringe at the paldea anime trying to make her rap.
@@AlexDayz strange. For me, only my pokemon got boosts. And the crowd mentioned how that was a good timing to teralatilize one of my pokemon at the start. (I had a fire/ghost and made her pure fire to get rid of one of her weaknesses) the gym leader never got a boost
It’s kinda unfortunate Mikey hasn’t tried to do any of the classes. Getting to know the teachers is really fun and you give context to why this Gym is a double battle (won’t say more as to why for those that don’t know)

I believe the context is that they're twins and MsTyme retired as gym leader to focus on been a teacher leaving the gym to Rhyme to run

Yeah, I completed all of my classes before battling Elite 4. I loved getting to know the teachers, getting exp candies from the exams and even getting some side quests, like the history teacher who tells you about the staves in the ground where you can get 4 ruinous pokemon legendaries. I got half of the staves so far, but have been looking at a guide to help me find the rest. lol

Fun characters.
But it suffers from being the first of its kind. But i can look past it because this games too fun to quit. The movement is also really fun. I cant wait to see where pokemon goes from here.

Listen, I love the franchise, but people need to start getting tired or holding Gamefreak accountable for bad games, they slow down effort on the games for a reason
Fun fact. In Scarlet and Violet, between the gym leaders, team star bosses and elite four, there is someone representing each typing EXCEPT for Rock Type. Maybe people could do a rock type only challenge for this game.
There is a teacher who was a retired rock-type gym leader. But sadly we can only battle her in post-game tournament, so yeah. Although, with the class activities, we actually get stories and interactions about her and the other teachers as much as the other specialists (gym leaders, elite 4, and star boss), or sometimes arguably even more.
@@adilsuhodo318 I knew of the math teacher Mrs Tyme being a former Rock Gym Leader but I thought you couldn't battle her. Thats why i didn't bring her up. I've gone through the post game school tournament 24 times already and still havnt faced her yet. I think it's random who you face in the first few rounds and I've just been insanely unlucky.
The main story has you face a boss of every type, though. The gym leaders, star bosses and the titans provide rep for all 18 types
@@thehellfirewolf13 but I'm referring to having another pokemon trainer with a full team of the remaining types. Rock is the only one that doesn't have a star boss, elite four or gym leader representing it.
Thats because Geeta represents rock type. That's why her Glimmora terastalizes to rock.

Fun fact, Glimmet is supposed to be a post game Pokémon but apparently you can get them early via mass outbreak also, DJ G-Rave is the Goodest of bois
Edit: I stand corrected, Glimmlet is just really rare and I never actually spent enough time in the caves
Also there’s one in a cave near the town with the Ice gym
You can also rarely find them in the cave before the psychic gym
Not exactly post-game, since the credits don't run after you become champion.

It’s evolution is only found in Area Zero (crater) and Glimmet is actually common in caves before the crater

Team Star is now my favorite "Evil" team in the entire franchise just from the Starfall Street storyline
I finished the story of team star yesterday and I was crying like a baby. I was feeling so many emotions. These are the best Pokemon games we've had in years. Everything after gen 5 has never provoked that much emotion in me. Now here we are with gen 9 and I get emotional all the time. Arkoos, I love Pokemon.
Thats what i'm sayin the story just get emotional after 2 bases
You know. I'm impressed with how my mixed opinions completely changed after I played the game. I first didn't like how you get a legendary at the start but that legendary is actually weak at the start and you go through the story taking care of them and making them stronger. (it also helps that they have a personality)
Team star seemed boring to me and i didn't want to do them at all at the start. My friend told me to do one to get through an area. It started as me just doing them for the items but now I'm invested in the story (the path of legends doesn't really count because I already wanted to do it to begin with)
And I thought teralatilizing pokemon looked a bit silly but I'm not sure if they changed the design because it doesn't look that big on the pokemon now. And it's clever how you can use it to get rid of weaknesses.
Over all, if it wasn't so buggy or laggy sometimes, I think I would be enjoying it 100% and not just 95%

Just to let you all know:after you beat either the game or all the titans,you can go back to near where you fought them and catch them with a special mark

Don't have to do either of those things. All you have to do to encounter them is leave the area after the battle and come back later

Thanks for doing a properly edited playthrough. It's a nice departure from everyone else live streaming while running around in circles.
If you want edited playthroughs you might like RTGame's playthrough. Though it's much more edited down so some stuff gets seemingly skipped. Still a really fun series, though, and his interactions with Larry are hilarious.
AbsolBlogs' playthrough movie is also a pretty good watch if you're still interested, he's kinda underrated tbh

if it's something you're interested in, i think i can explain the way atticus speaks. i haven't
played through the game in japanese yet, but if i had to assume in japanese atticus speaks in a very archaic way associated with ninjas. things like ending his sentences with "de gozaru" or using pronouns like "sessha". to a japanese listener this speech pattern would be kinda like shakespearean/archaic english. i think to give english-speakers the same effect they made atticus speak this way, although we don't really associate that way of speaking with ninjas.
Even then, a Shakespearian ninja is still cool.

@@StromboliJoe I think it just suggests where you can go next that's closest to your level. It doesn't mean you have to do it right away 😅
@@AedilOnline there's an option below healing your Pokemon that says I don't know where to go. I thought it was cool when I first realized what it did.

I didn’t expect the most life-like thing to happen in Pokémon would be school admins not knowing about severe bullying🥴
This game may have bad graphics and performance, but I feel like it more than makes up for that with the other elements. This is my favorite story from any Pokémon game, the characters are more fleshed out than ever, and despite the low quality graphics some areas can still be beautiful. I also love all the new Pokémon designs, and find the game very fun to play. My only problem is that Bruxish is in the dex.
I really like Quaxly's final evolution it's a pretty peacock and I love it. And I also like your rapping it was really good.
ryme might be my favourite gym leader of all of them. she has an awesome personality.

i know there is a lot wrong with this game. but i think most if not all can agree all of these story lines are amazing. the lore is on point man it's fantastic.
Since Team Star are "bad" students they don't get Tera orbs, rather they change the Revarooms type by changing the car it on.
Most people don't have tera orbs. You have to be rewarded one by someone in the league.

I am so surprised that Mikey didn't see the purple vault on his way to the swamp. Maybe it's less visible in the day but he also hasn't seen any of the black stakes
The annihilape crunching noises are it grinding up the bones of its enemies
You should do all the classes and take the midterm exams and final exams to get good rewards just speak to the woman on the front desk and she will give you the list of classes to take
Glimmet was my first shiny I actually didn't know it was shiny at first because it was the first one i ran into and I had sneezed right when i entered battle with it, non outbreak; it was only after i looked at my profile and saw that I had encountered a shiny that I looked through my pokemon boxes and found out that it was a shiny.

As far as I've seen, this gym has literally the only double battles in the entire game. Could they seriously not figure out a way to add them just because its open world or was that because of the time crunch too?... =(

yup I think you're right since 1st is always 3rd Gym you go to when you have 2 badges, next is whatever the 5th gym is for you after having 4 badges and then there's always 1 more once you have 2 more badges
Of course the gym leader was gonna be a double battle it would be like if they hyped up mega evolution and no gym leaders used it…Oh wait😐

Or meet the living one, who left when Arven was a baby, at some point. I thought they would be a teacher in the DLC and I was all set to use my level 100 Veluza as a battering ram.

well poison doesn't damage you once the battle ends so Armarouge survived that last poison damage. lol with the Glimmet, precisely why I always buy a bunch of Quick Balls the second I can because they're pretty OP when they're working. Evolving Finizen isn't as hard as Bisharp BUT sadly due to how it works, it's annoying and good call with Alfornada, don't do the gym there yet. Perhaps but it's a fictional world so they can do snowy mountains however they please. Sadly not for awhile with Toedscruel and Earth Power
I'm not a fan of rap BUT you aren't wrong that the Gym Leaders are cooler this gen. Ryme's Gym boosts are based on crowd reaction AND it's just for the 1 battling her

Team Star got me emotional too since I've been bullied endlessly, doesn't matter whether it was for my disability, my interest in Power Rangers OR just calling out others for their inappropriate behaviors which includes favoritism and sadly that treatment still happens to this day.

the ghost gym is a lot harder if you can’t kill toxtricity in one turn. the crowd gives you and ryme an omni boost on the turn after you or her terrastalize
The reason he talks shakespearean is because in Japanese he speaks in old time Japanese prose. The localisers probably thought the best way to make it make sense in English is by using olde English.
