Penguin Chicks Receive Wellness Checks At Penguin Point

Penguin Point is chick-central! Six Magellanic penguin chicks successfully hatched in late May and are being closely monitored by their parents, keepers, and veterinary staff. Four of the chicks are currently being reared by their parents. Two chicks are receiving special attention and around-the-clock care from veterinarians and keepers at our animal hospital. Guests will most likely not be able to see the chicks at Penguin Point as the protective parents do a wonderful job keeping them safe and warm under their bellies in their burrows. They will periodically emerge for feedings when their parents give them regurgitated fish they’ve already eaten.
