I tried to make a backup of my stuff and found out my charging port wasn't working and I didn't know about the cloud back then.Maybe it didn't even exist back then. But i'm gonna be sending my phone to this guy pretty soon!
Yep, a failed hard drive or even SD card can be very painful .Had a relatively lose over a Terabyte of data when the SD card in their phone corrupted, and all the pictures from the past several years disappeared. Simply dropping them into a PC drive, or even making sure to print out the best and putting them in a photo album would've been a good idea in hindsight.
After 13 years in the it business and dabbling with what you're showing on the screen I give you props that's going the extra mile and that's what makes the difference between a data recovery specialist and someone that just dabbles in the it business
I wish I knew about you years ago, I have tons of HDDs that needed fixing but unfortunately every store in my area just breaks everything and I hate it so much. Thank you for being you and I like your content.
I didn't know about the cloud last year when my phone locked up with my data on it. I will be sending it to him pretty soon.Hopefully he can get it fixed.
@@elessalarchive would be a second copy of it local that you stash somewhere safe like a safe deposit box (assuming ur data is inportant to your job or whatever)
I've never actually seen how a chip transplant is done when you have to replace all those trace connectors. I always assumed it to be something that was machine done only when that small. Very cool to see your technique.
This guy makes it look so easy. Regular people doesn’t even know how much hours of learning and searching for knowlege goes iinto this. I work in the industry, but if I was on this level I would make it expensive.
you are very good at this obviously, you know this. I know a lot of this comes from practice, but where would somebody that would like to learn how to do this as an apprentice, learn this
The magnetic heads that travel over the disk's require being close to the disk but not touching the disk I feel like it would be nigh impossible to get the proper space to not instantly gouge a line in the disk ruining it
why would you have to do the USB bypass to SATA if the only thing wrong was the broken piece? Unless there was service area issues it should have work normally through the USB interface
I got 2 drive related issues that i cant fix so 1 is an older 160gb hdd thats IDE and i cant get it to work on any machine and an older machine that does not recognize any kind of drive even tho the os it used to ran on was on a hdd that no longer gets recognized
Can you recover, or unlock, a BitLocker encrypted SSD? My computer shop couldn't do it. I've tried some DOS commands to turn it off, but it didn't work.
Did you take a moment to say "you know... If you just had a second drive and copied everything new over to it every so often. You'd at least mitigate your losses"
Prime example of why to never use Apple.they would have glued the hdd to the motherboard and made chip transfer impossible due to some key on the chip and key on hdd motherboard and key on main motherboard and some hidden checks that would brick everything.
You guys are majic. i am trying to find a phone I have had for ten years that has thousands of pictures on it, I was told it had the black screen of death by Samsung cell people, back when you could go to a cell repair facility, when i do I will send it you, As and older person i would love to learn how to do that to give my wife and I a money stream later in our life that doesnt envolve me hauling and getting on ladders for hight end lighting installations
hes pissed they broke it? why has he not backed it up??? its very simple. i have several back ups, two cloud back ups and several hard drive back ups...
Dude, I own one of those drives! I did not know it encrypted the data. Nor can I imagine any scenario in which that would be useful - not unlike M$'s drive encryption.
SEDs (self-encrypting drives) are standard fare. It's so things like ATA drive locking commands can't be defeated by simply changing the board. If your data consists mostly of torrented Hollywood movies, I can understand you not valuing encryption - but some of us have important/confidential data we want to protect.
This is some highly professional work, Thank you for explaining exactly what you did. Makes alot of sense to me as a mechanic
I know most people dont want to or cant be bothered, but learning how to make backups of your most treasured work saves this kind of heartache.

How did you get the donor PCB.
you doing great man.
Donor hard drive, probably
You can also look up donors by model number on the pcb. Order them
Same model faulty hard drive
Absolutely legendary work!
Thats what I call Hi-Tech. Thank you for showing us. professional at every level.

Yeah, I've had that problem before. It takes practice on useless items first, but with a few tries, you can learn to do this yourself, too.
One cloud, one local, one archive. All important data. 3x backup.
What would "archive" mean? Usb/external disk?
How to archive?
I didn't know about the cloud last year when my phone locked up with my data on it. I will be sending it to him pretty soon.Hopefully he can get it fixed.

@@sofattia7940 oh. yes. I agree.
Damn your good glad to see you helping people instead of ripping everyone off like most do!
I don't understand a good amount of stuff but they are so satisfying to watch

You're so good at what you do 🎉🎉🎉

Amazing work as usual, congrats guys!
You are a damn wizard.
Can you post more videos please I really love seeing you repair things😢😢😊😊
Me too. It's so satisfying and I love his sense of humor.
My beloved Motorola will be on her way to you next month, hopefully! ❤
Great job! Be sure to tell your client to back up his data to somewhere else.
Bro I wanna learn how to repair stuff like you what course should I do
I was coming to the comment to ask just that. 😂
you are very good at this obviously, you know this. I know a lot of this comes from practice, but where would somebody that would like to learn how to do this as an apprentice, learn this
Why did i immediately think of kendrick lamar 😅
Dang. Making it look easy 😅
Moving those chips safely is serious business
They should make harddrives and the like more universal.
Like truly make it just a matter of transplanting discs, like dvd's
1 peice of dust on a hard drive disc can make it useless
The magnetic heads that travel over the disk's require being close to the disk but not touching the disk I feel like it would be nigh impossible to get the proper space to not instantly gouge a line in the disk ruining it
That defeats the purpose of encryption
Your vids are so 🔥🔥🔥
Now that's miracle work stuffs.
As an IT pro...very impressive!
I want to learn how to do this please where do I start?
Heck yeah my wife broke my hard drive with all my corn on it. I'll need some help
Easier to get a new wife.
I hate dealing with spyglass, charger and Palmer drives. Now we got Oakland2 which are 6tb…
Bruh.. I can't believe the CIA isn't bugging you to join them at Langley
DAMN YOUR GOOD
I would love to learn this trade
Great Work How much Does a service like this usually Cost On average ?
Remember, your data isn't safe unless it's in 3 places
This is why you should backup on multiple HDD
why would you have to do the USB bypass to SATA if the only thing wrong was the broken piece? Unless there was service area issues it should have work normally through the USB interface
how do people not know about online backups?
I got 2 drive related issues that i cant fix so 1 is an older 160gb hdd thats IDE and i cant get it to work on any machine and an older machine that does not recognize any kind of drive even tho the os it used to ran on was on a hdd that no longer gets recognized
Is it by any chance owned by a rapper?
Can you deal with water damage
Can you recover, or unlock, a BitLocker encrypted SSD? My computer shop couldn't do it. I've tried some DOS commands to turn it off, but it didn't work.
Very cool very smart i like it
Beautiful job. I am in UAE, can I send you a broken drive?
Genius
Which software he is using
This is so cool
sexy work!
Purrrrrr.
Did you take a moment to say "you know... If you just had a second drive and copied everything new over to it every so often. You'd at least mitigate your losses"
What is the cost of that??
how can i copy my old gen 3 ssd to a my other gen 4 ssd
How much does it cost to do this repair???
Bruh i fucking swear i would be pissed lmao how the hell does someone break a drive on accident
Prime example of why to never use Apple.they would have glued the hdd to the motherboard and made chip transfer impossible due to some key on the chip and key on hdd motherboard and key on main motherboard and some hidden checks that would brick everything.
wanna ask an question how reliable is reballing (and resoldering in general)
As reliable as it takes to copy your files asap to a new drive
I wouldnt trust it with anything after that.
It depends on how well you do it and on the quality of your solder (plus how is the solder stressed when the device is in use)
How can i gave u my hdd ! I'm not on us
if you're just gonna convert it to sata.. why did you need the other board?
Drive would not spin with original board
How much is it for this service?
Can you repair a MCU V1.1 borad
I have a broken thumb drive can you pull from it?
Yes
see this wasn't a problem until they decided to make these drivers go directly to usb. they sued to be normal sata drives
What did you study for this type of career????
This is spaceship stuff. Not of this Earth.
Masterful.
Genius!!
