This was super helpful and gives me a base to decode the 'adventure' that is BuddyPress documentation. Well done. Greetings from Vancouver Island and the left coast!
Thank you! Quick question: How can I make this social media site private now? Meaning, a kind of forced log-in for users when they first access the site, before enabling them to open different site pages? However, I do not want the users to have to log-in through WordPress, I have created a custom log-in instead - how can I put that front and center before the users can continue on? Thank you again, hope my question wasn't cobnfusing
I think you can just attach the links to your new custom log-in to the homepage instead of the default WordPress login used. To make the social media site private, you can just require the user to be logged in to see the activity feed else show a welcome page.
Hello, great job, simple and fast explanation.. I would like to ask if there is any setting that allows to make something like a reviewing page , like people reviewing specific things ! also can i add a map ? If someone wantt to make a search through this map?
Yes, I think you can find third party plugins to add review and map functionality. Check their documentation first if they offer these features in the pro version.
Hello, I have a question I am currently working on a project and I decided to find out more about wordpress. I see that you can install the plugin without problem, for me I need to upgrade to the business plan in order to install plugins. Is it because you have a business plan or there is another way to do it? Thanks
Hey, this may be an issue with your hosting provider. You might be limited to a certain number of plugins. You should reach out to your hosting provider for more information.
Does anyone know what WordPress package / contract you need in order to be able to use the BuddyPress Plugin? I’m trying to decide rn if I should go with Premium or Business. Thanks in forehand
I think it's best to ask your hosting provider as they would know which plan would work better. You can start with the cheaper plan first to see if that suits your needs.
Thank you so much for this very informative video! How would you consider to perform BuddyPress in comparison to other similar plugins? And how would you compare its perfomance to them?
@@mapilitmedia Thanks a lot for your info. I instantly went to WPENGINE to check them out. I currently use another hoster with shared webspace which is cheaper, but as soon as they complain about me using too much traffic I might change (especially since today someone did recommend cloud-hosting anyway to me).
Yeaa you can choose which pages to display the social feeds, you can also setup a fresh WordPress install on a subdirectory and do it that way so it doesn't interfere with the main site.
Thanks for your support 😀 I believe I was using the twentytwentythree theme for this walkthough. Any theme would be compatible with the buddypress plugin.
Hi! I hope everything is OK with you. I realize you know what you are doing, but bro you are not teaching. You just do it for yourself. Yo don't really show what you are doing. Too bad!

can you make a video on email confirmation link sent to email
POST; COMMENTS. WASN'T AVAILABLE FOR OPTION, UN-HIGHLIGHTED (IT WAS THERE, BUT NOT OPTIONAL, TO CLICK.
Yes it might be only for the paid version to have this option
@mapilitmedia Which website; you have ah referrence. Awesome video, their is actually ah paid version, where.
how do you get the round styling for member and group avatar under customize. This option isn't in buddypress customise for me
Double check the styling options in the buddypress plugin
I'm trying to add this within a membership and I don't want it set as my homepage, trying to figure out how to do that from watching your video.
You'll have to set the membership functionality on a different url such as /members so it is not applied to the homepage.
Hi do I need to pay for the buddy press plugin ?
Hi, no there's a free version of the plugin that was used in this video.
@@mapilitmedia ok thank you 🙏
Thank you so much for this very informative video!
How would you consider to perform BuddyPress in comparison to other similar plugins?
And how would you compare its perfomance to them?
Thanks! In terms of performance it's based on your hosting as a good quality host such as WPENGINE will have good site speed performance.
@@mapilitmedia Thanks a lot for your info. I instantly went to WPENGINE to check them out.

can we make this in existing website without disturbing website just like a seprate page for social media thing
Yeaa you can choose which pages to display the social feeds, you can also setup a fresh WordPress install on a subdirectory and do it that way so it doesn't interfere with the main site.
In buddypress settings, "Pages" is not showing up. Any idea why not?
This could be an issue with the plugin. Try to update it to the latest version or reinstall buddypress
@2:20 I don't have pages called Register or Activate.
How do I get those to appear?
They should be created when you install the buddypress plugin. Try to reinstalling the plugin.
How do i integrate this with Ultimate membership pro plugin?
I'm not sure if there's an integration with this plugin. You can check their documentation to see if they're compatible. Thanks
thanks just what I needed, great post
Thanks for watching
Which wordpress theme are you using??
And thank you for the video 🤗
Thanks for your support 😀 I believe I was using the twentytwentythree theme for this walkthough. Any theme would be compatible with the buddypress plugin.
@@mapilitmedia Thank you so much 💓
how does it look on mobile and can you add it to your mobiles homescreen like a pwa
Yes, this website is mobile responsive, you can add it to your home screen just by saving the website - this will depend on the browser.
Buddypress logging doesn't send activation link
Check that your SMTP settings are configured correctly for email notifications
