Loving Others as the Father Loves Us - William Cardinal Goh (Homily - 11 Jul 2024)

Our Heavenly Father pursues us and loves us with an everlasting love even when we have been unfaithful to Him. Do we share this love we have received from the Lord, to those around us especially those who have hurt us or been ungrateful towards us? Or do we write them off?

Amen. Unconditional love of God also doesn't mean unconditional entry into heaven. Two different things.
The merciful father in the Parable of the Prodigal Son never ceased loving his son for a single moment, but the salvation of the prodigal son hinged ("conditional") upon his own free will to repent, return to his father and turn from his old ways.
The entire journey of faith of every Christian is really about aligning himself/herself to God. God is steadfast and does not change (Thank God!). If He does change, we are seriously in big trouble.
