- The Lester River Bushcraft Boreal Shirt is one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I will show you the features of this coat and how I use it for different weather conditions as well as the basic load out I use.

Worth the money awsome gear !!
Don't buy one from jacket-hub because they'll demand more money after payment then keep half the price when you refuse to be extorted.
Buyer Beware!! In recent years some chicom companies have stolen pictures and videos of the REAL boreal shirts to advertise their junk knock off. The only REAL Boreal shirts come from LESTER RIVER BUSHCRAFT IN DULUTH MN. USA!
I just ordered one of these for myself and figured I would check out UA-cam to see what people had to say. I'm curious with your thoughts on layering what you do for your hands? It seems like when it is cold that's always been my downfall, keeping my hands warm
I use wool glove liners under leather shells...or wool mittens under wool chopper mitt shells...I should have a video on it
I hope to be getting my boreal shirt soon
Also be placing an order with you soon be
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for showing the interface between the over white and the Boreal shirt. I'm searching for the appropriate wind layer for the Karamat Winter course 2018. Any experience with the Swedish version M62 snow smock?
I have a pullover swedish smock and a button up...I think the button up is better for ventilation as the pullover does not have that large of a neck opening....both work well over the boreal shirt though...thanks Ben
Ben Piersma thanks for the information it's quite helpful!
Do you sell this Boreal Shirt at your store? I couldn't find it on your website. Thanks.

Where's the best place to purchase the usgi overwhite?
Idaho Chuck 454
ebay or a surplus shop...size large overwhite will fit over a xl or xxl parka easy...they are oversized
is that a large or medium size? only reason is you have a similar build to me
Im 6'2" 185....medium is a little too small for me...go with large

I am 5'7" 190lb and a medium left me with minimal room to layer , so I went with a Large. It's a little on the big side in the body , but I could stick it in the dryer for a short time to shrink it down but ya gotta be careful if you do this.
I love my Boreal Shirt and Jason was great to work with.
If I had to critique this shirt , I would make the arm pits bigger 👍 cause it's hard to put on and that's even going up to a large. Jason told me they don't do custom work but might consider it in the future. He only has a few sewers stitching these together , so it's tough to meet demand for custom.
once again someone supporting a product that doesnot work in the snow zones like lester river in minnesota, where BTW no-one uses it as a winter coat!
Did you watch the video? Clearly stated it is part of a layering system?
looks like you are wearing the coat on the outside in the video to me.

I guess you dont understand layers...with a high activity level it works great as a outer layer in below zero temps. When you are inactive in below zero temps you put a parka over it.
i uderstand frostbite and hypothermia very well and a boreal bushcraft shirt doesnot work in Jan on the Lester river, end of story!
seandog nevius ... hey man .. I respect this comment, it has merit. . I belive the same thing. . that's why I made my own .. please check it out .. it's not just a light weight wool shirt like these over priced garments.. this guy at least tells people to layer up.. most fools fall into the belief that this wool shirt is all you need.. it's bull shit.. come on up to Canada wearing just that in January. .I like the reviews where they shine the light through it..lol there's your answer right there..
