    I have their Arctic Anorak and I love it. Ive been lusting after the Boreal shirt for a while. It will be on my list of next winter that is for sure!

    That seems about perfect for Spring and Fall. My heavy Winter coat is unbearably hot above 20 degrees but I tend to like it warm. Thanks for the reply.

    I sure do like mine. I wore it a lot during my 3 week trip up in the mountains. Thanks bro

    That shirt is the bomb diggity. Great that they will handle those of us with Sasquatch builds. I will contact them directly as I need another jacket. Many years ago I committed to buying high quality clothing and it is the way to go IMHO. I have clothes that are 30 years old, worn regularly and still going strong. Thanx for the info.

    The word is BOH-REE-ALL, it refers to the northern variety of evergreen forests found in Canada. A boreal forest is the kind of forest found in the north.

      Difficult to take someone serious, as being a Bushcrafter, that has zero idea what the Boreal Forest is. Al is Boring. You don't want to go to his Forest.
      However, if you happen to visit a real Bor Eee Al Forest, one might have a great time.

      rstevewarmorycom not only Canada the Boreal forest or Taiga is the earth's largest terrestrial biome where just less than one third of all the trees to be found on our planet grow,the Taiga encompasses the Artic circle stretching from Alaska, Canada and the northern state's of the USA to Iceland, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Mongolia and northern Japan it is the earth's lungs!

      Boreal means North, like Austral means South. Boreal was the name of the northern wind in ancient Greece.

    I like wool for cold weather. It's not an either/or thing for me when it comes to natural fibers and synthetics. If it was really cold, I would add another outer layer of synthetic material that's good at blocking wind. Great combo!! Thanks

    It should be no problem for them. When I called them up, the guy I spoke with said they've made garments for folks over 7 foot weighing over 400lbs. He was a super nice fella.

    I own a few wool garments and they keep me very warm but without adequate ventilation it is a sweat box when working.The last jacket i purchased has heavy duty zippers for shedding it off whenever the need arises.The pant is wool also with the same zippers and snaps to button the flaps over the zipper.They are double layered at the knee and thigh area for durability with buttons everywhere.The pant best resembles army pants in style,and they are very warm but i have to shuck them off also if I go indoors for an extended period of time.

      +richardpinell This garment is best for very cold weather, and is an awesome part of layered clothing system. If someone hunts from a stand, ice fishes, or other outdoor pursuits with light to moderate physical exertion, then they will find value in this. I hate to tell you this, but any clothing capable of keeping you warm can also cause you to overheat and sweat as activity level increases. Layered clothing, and removing/adding layers is important. Learned that while working 30 years as a high voltage lineman. This is an Adirondack style of pullover, and it seems to be quite popular with those who endure extreme cold. Thanks

    I've made a similar garment once from surplus wool blankets. I think that's what Hoss did, but he is a much better seamstress

    I realize that perception is difficult to quantify. I've only lived in two states: Mississippi, and Virginia. I think this garment can keep my comfortable down to the 40's and 30's. Someone who lives in New England may think that range to be much much colder.

    I like them. Would love to wear one but the few times it'd be necessary would leave it on a hanger.As big a size as you take it could double as a pup tent.

    Yeah, I realized that I was actually spending more money over time by buying cheap gear, and having to continue to replace it. The guy I spoke with at Empire was a genuine good fella. I hope you like your overshirt as much as I do mine.

    Very nice job on the review. I just received mine. My ordering experience was as yours. Being difficult to fit my whole life, I was worried about spending the money on something that wouldn't fit. But, like you, gave the my measurements and got the same, "no problem." Just as you state, about 2 months to deliver...and worth the wait.
    I subbed your channel. Like you, I've also "made do" most of my life. I think, at a certain age, you just begin to realize you're worth the investment.

    For what this garment is, I would not have wanted it wind proof. I prefer that it is more breathable while humping a pack or dragging deer in the mountains. The cost of the garment is high though.

      +GunznGear I'm in the U.K. and just ordered a custom fit I'm only five ten but 300pounds, I've got a thyroid gland problem and it's terrible trying to find quality wool clothing to fit, after emailing Jason a couple of times he asked for my dimensions and offered to make one to fit, it's a Xmas present from the wife so I'm hoping it's ready in time and fingers crossed we get the bad winter we been promised lol, TC buddy

    i really don`t make it a habit to comment bad on videos, but if you dont know what you are talking about at least dont give advices, be responsible ...a 16 years old might listen to you, we always cut a tree low, safety reasons. Dont take my words for it search and learn... mors kochanski has a nice video and alot of expirience. go check him out.

    • @GunznGear
      @GunznGear  9 років тому

      I'm not sure what you are commenting about. This is a video about a wool garment. As far as advice and safety goes, let me say this; you are way off the mark. I care deeply about the safety of others, and only remark about things that I have a great deal of experience. From your short statement, I can see that you do not appear to have a great deal of knowledge, nor do you pay attention to those whom you recommend. You do not always cut a tree low. If you are using short handle tools like hatchets, tomahawks, and shorter handle axes, then it is much safer to raise the angle of the swing. That will provide better body mechanics, and it is safer incase of the cutting tool glancing off the tree. Longer handle axes are much safer to swing low, because their length means that an errant swing is more likely to hit the ground than to end up in someones leg. You are the one who may be indangering others! I will agree that Mr. Kochanski is a great resource of knowledge. You should have done your research before commenting!

    • @GreManOwaR
      @GreManOwaR 9 років тому +1

      I have to apologise right away for that comment, I left the comment on the wrong video, obviously I was watching at 2 videos and left this one on the wrong person. That comment was not for you I am an really sorry if I offended you. I am not an expert on axe swing in fact I use an axe for less than a year now. though , I am pretty sure that what I saw on that video (not yours) was deadly dangerous. in any case long handle or short we should never swing an axe upwards to clear up the notch. at least that is my opinion from what I`ve seen from people I judge to be valid woodsmen as mors kochanksi. but I dont understand in anyway how I am indangering others? I still believe that cutting a tree should be low, short or long handle, in case there are hung ups , the tree can come off the base where you cut, and land somewhere around its root base, cutting low eliminates that risk by reducing the radius of that displacement. I say again, no expert here, not by a long shot. just my honest opinion. And again sorry if I offended you with the wrong comment.
