Hullo friends, all in-game cutscenes were cut out, as they were actually just some scenes from the film itself, copyrighted so hard I couldn't even release the video. :D So, no cutscenes, it can be kind of hard to know what's the story of the game without knowing the movie but oh well. :D
This is one of my most favorite games and I have this game too, but I only have just the PS1 version though which I personally like better anyway, especially since it's also playable on both PS2 and PS3 via backwards compatibility. I even have the emulated port of this game for PS1 from the PlayStation Store to play on both PS4 and PS5 as well since this game was also re-released digitally for both PS4 and PS5.
The analog control in this version only registers diagonal movements. Therefore, the PS1 version gets my vote. But this is still a passable version of the game, if you don’t mind using the d-pad and the removal of some dialog.
It's pretty much the same - it's a 1:1 port, with no enhancements to be seen. A real bad, lazy port, but still, it's about the same as on PS1, perhaps it runs better, and obviously it's 480p resolution, unlike 240p on ps1. But, that's it. :)
@ErmacgerdLongplays Plus it takes the PC's audio, take Buzz's voice and grunts in the PC, and this. Sounds more like Tim Allen, while the N64 and PS1 had him sound different and deeper especially his fall sound. Sound effects like the text selection sound higher in pitch in PC and DC while everything else was lowered. The font they use for Buzz's POV is lifted straight off the PS1 for the Dreamcast, while PC had a standard bold font-type.
Umm no, this version is bad, it lacks an analog control, there are times where draw distance is actually short, frustrating save system and longer load times. If anything else i suggest playing the superior pc version
Yes, I played only on Redream, which doesn't have that Force Widescreen hack, though I suspect it works as it usually does: insane clipping at the edges of the screen, basically not recommended at all. :D
So many of your struggles left in where you spend 10 minutes trying to find something that was seen the first attemp.. (finding the horseshoes for example, the one by the window is clearly visible on your first try). And then you cut out so much actual progress on important things.
Is it just me or do the analog controls in this version of Toy Story 2 seem like a joke? If so, then the Dreamcast honestly deserved a much better port.
@ErmacgerdLongplays yeah you can't walk straight with an OEM dreamcast controller. But the retrofighter dreamcast controller works well for this game.

Underrated beauty of a gem.
Nobody cant understand
I was one of those unlucky people who had to unlock the Rocket Jet Boots to race RC in the second level.

the PC version is the most superior actually
This version is better than the ps1 one?

you say no widescreen hack exists but flycast has built in widescreen hack, haven't tried it on this game though

Pretty high chance that it actually is so, with the controls. This port is ultra lazy and ugly.
