Many thanks for this tutorial! While it may seem like a simple thing to you, I looked at the little video on the HP machine several times and could NOT figure it out. Seeing you actually remove the jam made it crystal clear. The only thing that I did not appreciate was that the feeder top must be down for the entire top to lift off. I had the feeder top lifted and the top tray would not open. When I put the top tray down, it opened no problem. It is a small detail that the HP video did not make clear. Many thanks for these videos. The simple things are what makes it so hard for many of us!!!

Oh! I was about to post that I had to discover how to unlock it on my own. I put scissors into an opening and it unlocked right away.

It lookks your is hard to open. Try few times with little extra force.

Push the power button to unlock the door instead of breaking the lid by forcing it open.

@@tigonim4232 I just had a tip from a friend who is a printer tech. He told me to close the top part and put on hand on the left and another on the right and lift it that way (with the top down), it worked instantly! I hope this works for you too.

What the...BUT THAT'S THE PART WE CAN'T DO! Our printer is stuck shut. How can you just lift it open like that?

I had the same problem. I was lifting the top part first (like to make a copy) and then tried to open the rest and it was stuck. Hes leaving the copy lid closed and opening the whole thing. Thsi worked for me right away. Its like a safety feature

Be sure the top lid is closed before opening the access door. Otherwise, if the top lid is up, the access door can not be opened.

Just fixed the stuck lid on HP 9018e by inserting a screwdriver in a small opening to the left of the glass plate. It released a tiny lock and the lid came open easily.

If your printer lid won't open, using more force will damage it. Push the power button instead. This should release the 9015e printer door. It worked on my printer.
