I'm older gal and was a photography major in HS. The 35mm film iso 200,400 etc.. pack of three or four was no more than $11 and development on a good was was $3.99-7.99 one hour was highest $9.99. the thrill to see the pictures taken, the tricks and tips to get those images near perfection to save film, money, time, skills yeah those where the days!!!!!!!!!!
I think the Ektar makes a great roadtrip camera to collect memories.
It definitely does for us. Lets us relive the trip long after it is gone.
They look like retro polaroids. I love your videos and your editing, I really appreciate the importance you give to the music. Great video man!!!
Thanks for the video and info! I'm from the "Olde" generation that saw the transition between the film camera and digital and both have there pros and cons. Very much the way you explained things. Thanks!
The looks of these are insane ❤ so retro I love it.
Niles - you nailed it! Great review on two budget point and shoots. See you on the Sunny Side 📷
appreciate it
H35 --> half of 35mm?
yes
Ektar i think is named after it's classic film stock... And the h35 is self explanatory. But man those shots from the H35 are great..
JUST bought the ilford sprite and some cinestill 400d for a trip! this was a great watch!!
enjoy!
Really enjoyed this one!
when the nostalgic strikes, feel so refreshing
I really want these camera, loving the results, but really hard in my region to find some good places to develop.
Loove the grading on this video!! 💯
I like em too
Appreciate it!
They are always best in this game
I looked them up and apparantly the two cameras are made in the same Chinese factory that pays a license to put the name of the company on them. That is why if you look at most of these new film cameras they all look astoundingly similar. That doesnt take away from their utility though and they are fun! I am waiting for 110 to make a comeback I know lomography still makes the film as i have been shooting it in an old kodak.
Lomography just made one of those stick cameras for 110!
I shoot with a Yashica Electro 35 and a Minolta XG7 with MD/MC lenses. I got sharp 35mm covered, I want these for the other end of the spectrum! Great vid!
Love everything in this video. 👏👏👏
Thank you!!
Dope video! Thanks.
No problem!
What camera and lens are you using to film videos?
what film roll did u use?
Love your video and comparisons! I was paid $50 for shooting an event, so I bought the H35 (H=Half-frame, 35 = mm film?). Haven't used it yet, but want to actually use it to shoot a roll of Ektar film, just because, well, you know, Ektar in an Ektar! Also, best film in a not-so-best camera =??
As someone who's been shooting half frame for years I would suggest avoiding grainy films. At 35mm I adore obvious grain, but I definitely underestimated the effect it has on half frame. Then I shot Lomo color 800 (my all time favorite) in my Olympus Pen F...
The frames are half the size of what you're used to, so imagine DOUBLE the grain size of what you're used to. Not desirable in my opinion.
@@RamoArtwhat camera do you use
Which lut did you used for this video?
Btw what is the song on the background of the intro?
Which Cam Setup is this great video filmed with?
FX3, sigma 28-70, cinebloom 5%
I'd argue that lens quality does affect image quality greatly. I would never use a plastic almost disposable camera with the prices of film actually.
I know man. I bought a slr for the same price as one of these almost-disposables, glass lens and everything. Will let you know how well it works.
How do we load the original photos from these cameras to any digital device without losing out on the picture quality.
Lookup film scanning
The graininess on film cam be severely changed by iso blower iso is less grain, also half frame isn’t the smallest, by ALOT there’s 8mm photo film this is 1.8 cm by 1.2cm I think but I ain’t lie sure, the name of film doesn’t mean size , 135 film isn’t 135 cm or mm and 120 isn’t 120 mm it’s 6cm, film quality at a low iso is incredibly high
Just shot with that Kodak and I'm not too sure if I like the experiment. Maybe I'll be singing a different toon when I get the results back
let us know
How do you get the photo to your devices like laptop or iPhone
Either your photo lab scans/digitizes the negatives or you scan and digitize them yourself 📷
I love my H35.
My ilford always goes off in my bag lmao
what iso film should I choose for golden hour photos?
i'd suggest 400, it's ideal for good lighting conditions
Hi,
I want to buy the same cameras but i don't know how to put the photos on my pc ?
Can you explain me pls ?
Thx
depends on the lab where you develop your film, but usually they'll offer an option to have the film digitalized.
2:23 😭😭😭 emotional damage!
Kodak Ektar H35 is available in Estonis for €69.99
#ad for your store
Can anyone tell me the name of the Pier / location of the pier that he went ???
san Clemente pier
Switching out the film depending on the lighting sounds like alot
Well… “the camera you shoot with matters way less than it does with digital” hmm, a bit simplistic don’t you believe?
no
H35 means Half 36.
Considering u can get a prefessional camera for lie 100 dollars and film can be developed for 10 cents , bae, and don’t forget that half frame cameras have a severe drop in quality
Maybe, just maybe, H35 means Half 35??
If anyone wants music for their content, I'm always looking to collab 🙏
drop dat link
perfect camera for those vanlyfe girls with those hats, you know the hats talkin about
LMAO
😂 we definitely know what you’re talking about. So accurate now I’m going to feel like that when I take pics with it 😩
H35 isn't cheap now, I'd rather buy a manual camera Iike Rollei B35 for the same price, which has much better image quality
Because shooting expensive as hell film on cheap cameras, with cheap lenses and no creative options is the way to burn through rolls! Yeah!
The video was great though!
no creative options?
@@moment I guess he means stuff like slr blur or something idk
With all that Ai junk film is the only real thing left
fist cument
very good
plastic manure
it is better not to buy this camera, first they create a problem, they double the cost of film, and than the sell the solution which is a half frame camera, so you can have the same cost per frame. The result is of course the decrease of quality and resolution. Also the quality of the camera is so low that it is not advisable to put an expensive film inside. for 50 $ it is better to buy a second hand slr.
And now they are going to be out of stock, and their prices are going to rise🥲
RIP
