ok guys here’s my best advice which i really feel like everyone needs to hear: in school literally NO ONE cares and remembers anything embarrassing, or uncool that you have ever did like seriously, people don’t even remember what you wore yesterday unless they REALLY liked it so, all the overthinking that you have done, is pointless in the end. no one is judging you they are too busy judging themselves.
istg the 8th graders looked so old when i was in 6th grade, and now i’m in hs. please enjoy middle school yall, it’s not that difficult if you pay attention and do ur work. good luck!!
As someone going to be a freshmen in the fall, don’t bother people, don’t try to act cool, BE YOU, you’re gonna lose friends it’s what middle school is, ignore people! Good luck Edit: Tysm for the likes
Ouu freshman in high school? If so, good luck hun! I’m in uni and my biggest advice for you would be try to join as many teams as possible, it’ll make your high school experience a lot better ♥️
i would say just be yourself and if people have a problem with or your friends then its not good to be friends with people like that who are not there for you or never proud of you no matter what
Judging by your answers, you sound like that super smart, kind kid you gives good advice and helps people with their work by showing them how to get to the answer instead of just giving it. A true role model!
Fr tho. I’m going to 8th watching this lol but I’ve only made 3 friends and never even talked to a guy. Whenever I was in group projects I would do all the work for the sake of not talking to the person 😅
as a girl going to be a sophomore this next school year, these tips are SUPER helpful for any girl in middle school!! i honestly wish i had known these before i went into middle school, and i’m super glad you made this video!!
college freshman here, and my answers to each section are: -friends: youll know who your solid, closest friends are, and if you dont find them in middle school, youll probably find them in high school. my best friends ive been friends with since 8th grade and theyre the most supportive people in my life. youll have fights and arguments sometimes (if its frequent, drop them) but re-evaluate if its a worthy fight to put up or if you could just drop it. -grades: grades dont matter in the grand scheme of things, but middle school is meant to help you learn how to study and get good grades. work for yourself, get the grades you feel like YOU deserve. if you disagree with your grade, talk with your teacher for retakes, extra help after school, etc. middle school is to prepare you for high school (also i had more homework in middle school in comparison to high school, just saying) -relationships: dating in middle school doesnt exist. im sorry but it doesnt. also boys dont mature ever. my best friends are guys and he still laughs at farts. honestly, if you feel like dating someone in middle school, do it, but if you want something more serious and committed, wait until high school. -time management: youre still kids. take time to do what you want and dont let people judge you for it. i was really into some youtubers in middle school and i didnt care what others would say. do what you want (legally and within reason) but that being said, take time to study and take time for yourself. -classes: take them seriously. you may not want to because of what i said earlier, but like i said, they set you up with good studying habits and help you get ready for being a big kid. -random: -I am a freshman in college going into vocal music education to become a choir teacher -high school was fine for me, just stay out of drama, dont worry about popularity, its not worth it -periods are normal and natural. dont be ashamed or stressed about it, it happens to everyone with a uterus -middle school was boring, thats it. youll remember barely anything -i dress up every day, but i dress for myself. hope this helped anyone going into/in middle school, if you have any other questions feel free to send them my way!
My advice for relationships: I went into a relationship in 7th grade. There’s a few thing I would like to say. When you say u want a bf/gf make sure it’s for a reason because u actually like them instead of because u want attention. For me personally, I barely knew the guy, I felt insecure bc my friends were getting bf’s and I wanted part of that. I didn’t actually like him I was only doing it for attention (I didn’t realize this till after the relationship was over) and it was HORRIBLE for my mental health. I cried every night since I didn’t know what to do. He was very nice but it destroyed me internally. The relationship lasted for 8 months bc I was too afraid to break up w him bc of what he might do to himself since he told me how the world would mean nothing to him without me. My advice would be, only do it if you 100% know you’re ready. And please get to know the person first. Second: be prepared. Here’s a big note: it’s hard to care and love for someone else, before you learn to care and love yourself. It’s impossible to be there for someone else if your not there for yourself first. In my experience, it was really hard to care for the person since I didn’t fully love myself. It left me torn. I’m in eighth grade now and that relationship has given me a fear to enter a new one. I’m worried I’ll have to go thru the same emotional pain I went thru when I was with that person. Please before u go into a relationship make sure it’s something u need instead of want. And please feel free to reply to this comment if u need any advice or if u have any questions :) remember, ur perfect the way u are and Ilysm
This is so incredibly sad, I actually have the basically the same story that also happened to me in grade 7, 😔if you want to talk to me about it then I can share my Instagram with you so we can help each other recover?? Ilysm stay strong 👍🏻❤️❤️
@@sadierobinson170 it’s all good, I got into the relationship with her Bc I thought that it would make her happy and that’s what she wanted, turns out I learned the relationships need to be mutual to work out😞
I'm going into freshman year too, heres some advice for middle school: everybody is just as scared as you are, set and example and socialize with others and get to know each other. P.S. Try your best too keep your notes clear trust me your going to need them later on in other grades
I remember in elementary school there was this one girl in 5th grade, and this other boy in 4th grade and they “dated” for like 2 days. All they did was talk and walk together to class..
Here’s some advice: when you make new friends, don’t tell them personal stuff until you are 100% positive they are trustworthy. (Btw my middle school is 5th-8th, I’m going into 6th)
That is one of my problems, I open up too quickly and then after I'm like "oh no what have I done what if they end up having me and use that information for something bad"
I’ve been online ever since middle school started, now I’m heading into seventh grade and seeing everyone for the first time I’m a nervous wreck.... hah 💔
Yeah my 7th grade year was cancelled mid year but heres some advice: Be nice to everyone even teachers, don't be afraid of 8th graders they might look intimidating but they're pretty cool if you get to know them, and lastly don't be nervous just make friends on the first day then the second day will be way better then the rest of the week will suck and you'll wish it was summer again
I’m in the same situation… when I was in 5th grade we were supposed to have a tour of our middle school at the end of the year, but quarantine came along and ruined our plans ;-; All I have now is a virtual tour of my school, but I’m not sure where the video went Good luck in 7th grade though!
Advice for middle school: Do everything you can to preserve your mental health because if you thought middle school was bad, just wait for high school.
@Still a piece of gArBaGe lowkey excited for school to start again so I can like actually see people my age or something 🤠👍 my friends aren't going to my school though so like mmmmmm maybe no
Here’s my tip: *Don’t try to act older than you actually are!* Enjoy your middle school experience. There’s no need to rush into looking or acting older. Other kids in your school might try to act and/or look a year or two older, but you should just let yourself slowly grow as a person! Oh and another tip: be yourself! You don’t want to make new friends that don’t know who you truly are as a person.
ive seen 7th graders that look 15-16, im in 6th and next year im going into 7th. I know some kids will look older than me and i dont wanna seem like a little baby 💀💀 lets hope they look as old as i look
For someone going into 8th grade and switching to a public school, i'm glad you made this video! It's kinda reminding me of an older sibling or an older friend giving advice, which I find very sweet.
Yeah. I’m nervous too, I’ll be in 8th, 6th was a walk in the park until March, when is when we went online, and 7th I was homeschooled, but we’ll survive!
literally just graduated middle school a week ago. my advice is just do ur own thing. stop caring abt what other ppl think bc everyone else is too busy with their own stuff to care. and don’t forget to be nice, it helps a lot !!
so true! I finish middle school in May and during my 3 years there i learned not to care what other people thought of me i put on comfortable clothes and didn't put my hair up and i went through middle school fine i did my work and did my best in all the grade levels and it paid off good anyway for the oncoming 6th graders don't stress about middle school because it goes by fast so just enjoy your 3 years and don't change how you look unless you want to change how you look don't let people force you to put on clothes that you usually would not wear just because you're going into middle school doesn't mean you have to change yourself and stuff just be who you want to be and the right people will come to you.
@@alizah100 your speaking facts! it really does not matter how you look because at the end of the day looks don't get you anywhere its how you do in school that gets you somewhere in life. jobs don't look at looks they look at your education that you have gotten the job world wants the best of the best and stuff so don't change how you look UNLESS YOU want to change how you look but if other people force you to put on for example clothes you don't usually wear then don't put them on the important thing here is how YOU feel and what YOU want not what other people want so once you get into middle school if you want to change how you dress and look then go for it because its what YOU want now if you don't want to change how you look then that is ok too. do what you want to do, me for example, as I said I went through my whole 3 years of middle school putting on comfortable clothes and stuff and I was just fine with it because I was not ready to change how I looked yet but now I have decided to change how I look because that is what I want no one told me I had to change I was the one that was feeling like I should move onto more clothes that are cute but comfortable and stuff I took my time with changing myself I remember my mom and sister saying I should change how I look because its middle school but I didn't do that because I was just not ready to change how I looked yet but now since I am about to go into high school and stuff I feel more ready to change my style and put on things that are cute and comfortable god i wrote to much sorryyyyyyy
my advice for people that are going to start middle school: don’t change yourself for the sake of others. basically what i mean is, don’t change yourself to make other people happy. like your appearance, personality, etc. because that is what makes you, well, you. don’t change yourself to be popular or for popular people to like you more because at the end of the day, almost everybody in middle school is incredibly insecure of themselves. they aren’t cool, and you’ll realize that eventually. i know it’s easy to say that because i too have changed myself for others. both my appearance and personality. i thought it would make me popular, to look and act like them. but it didn’t. at all. so please keep that in mind. good luck for people that are nervous for middle school. you’ll do great 🫶🏼
I have no idea why i got this is my recommended when i'm a Junior... Just a tip for middle school or simply just any year in school: Do not do anything just to seem cool, for example vape. If you do and you get caught it'll stay on your record and you probably won't be able to get accepted into any colleges. If you do date someone try your best to date someone from another school. When or if you do break up with the person you're with in the same school as you there will definitely be drama, if you like drama then go for it.
as a girl whos going to be a sophomore in hs next year, this video was very accurate, honest, and helpful. It's also very well organized/put together :) Thanks sm for making this, I wish I had this when I went into middle school!
I can't get any lower than a B, If i get lower than a B I won't be in advanced classes anymore 😭✋ edit: removed "im not asian" because my dumbass forgot i was. deadass.
I don’t want Cs, I’m gonna try to get A+ on everything and the least is gonna be like a B+. I don’t want anything lower, and I’m technically not Japanese but I follow a lot of rules, learning Japanese, and when I’m fluent my dads gonna take me to Japan! Like YAY!
I’d like to say that in the whole “will my friends change” thing, as she said, yes! But you will too. Without even knowing it you’re not only changing physically, but mentally. Just keep it in mind that while you’re thinking “why did they change so much” they might be thinking the same
as an incoming sophomore, u have no idea how badly i wish my middle school self could've heard this. u are definitely helping so many middle school kids with this video!
As an incoming 10th grader: It’s easy to get good grades. Even when I was in gifted/ advanced classes it wasn’t too hard at all. Still try your best but for the most part, grades really don’t matter in middle school and when applying for highschool, you can still ask on your corse card to be put in higher level classes even if you were an average student.
Middle school advice, mainly for grades: If you want good grades, here is how I study. It's pretty efficient, for me at least. Before I sit down I think about a few things: -What topic is it? -What notes do I need? -How will my notes be organized? -What should I look for to understand better? (What I mean by this is "How should I re-explain it to myself so I can understand it?") I get the basic supplies according to what topic (ex. math - protractor) Studying isn't like a shopping spree. You have to sit down and *be organized* . Get your crap together. Force yourself to study.
i am a senior in high school and soon i will graduate, and then it's a college time but i still love Alyssa and her channel. Even though she is younger than me I think that she is such an inspiration and i am very happy and proud of myself that i find her channel💜💜 Thank you for every advice. You are so smart and beutiful inside and out💙💙
@@rae9665 One of the advice from me is to enjoy in every moment being in high school. Sometimes it seems like it's hard but at the end it will all work out so don't stressed yourself too much about grades and enjoy in every moment while you still get a chance. Enjoy your life in high school and have fun💜💜
FINALLY we have someone our age giving us advice who has been through this with the same experience (pretty much) unlike millennials saying about when they where our age. (NO HATE THO) ALSO THANKS FOR THE VID
hey babes! if ur nervous abt going into middle school don’t be! When I first started middle school I was so nervous it was all going to be different shockingly it’s not that different other then the class switches! I’m sure you’ll do great!!
Middle school is fun, but here are some tips to navigate through it! Some tips I have is: 1. Study to the best of your ability. Always try and take good notes and get assignments in. 2.Your 6th grade grades don't really play into what highschool you get into and the classes you take, it really only starts to matter in 7th, but still try your best. 3.Stay out of drama and be mindful of the circles you are in. People can be catty and mean in middle school so just be cautious of who you are friends with and who you hang around. 4. Have fun! Middle school is where a lot of changes happen and it prepares you for highschool. I'm in 7th now and the start of middle school was rocky for me, but fun! Just be yourself and don't care what other people think. 5. Also if you get your period black leggings don't show blood if you experience a leak. Also always bring a sweater you can tie around your waist if you happen to have a leak when you have on jeans or something like that.
As an eighth grader in her last year of middle school, I kinda wanted to share my advice. Overall it really helped me back in 7th (which is when we start middle school here) and it's pretty damn helpful. I might hurt some feelings, but keep in mind that's not my intention. No sugar-coating, I'll be telling you how it is and hopefully you learn something. First, join clubs. This is an absolute biggie if your school has clubs. Joining sports teams like volleyball and cheerleading not only makes you more known, you get wayyy more friends and you likely won't be lonely. If you're good enough they can recommend you in high school and you can get a scholarship too, so joining clubs and/or sports teams is a must. Two, TALK TO PEOPLE. Most people are just as nervous as you are, so instead of waiting for them to talk to you, do it yourself. The best conversation starters are compliments or questions about the class, so start conversation. Like I said, they're super nervous too, so they likely won't talk to you first. You have to be the bigger person, step into your big people pants, and get it over with. It's so worth it, I promise! If you don't talk to people and make friends you'll so regret it later. 3, don't start fake rumors just for the sake of getting more attention and friends. That's not how friendships work. You should be mature by now, so leave the 5th grade drama behind you and don't start drama. If someone lies about you, be mature. It'll make them look stupid and people won't go after you. Just be the bigger person. 4, PLEASE don't go around acting like an animal or saying overly personal things to people. I've seen many kids do this and unfortunately they become like outcasts, so don't even tell your friends your personal secrets. People are like, talentedly fake nowadays. Don't trust even your friends with secrets, who you like, etc. 4, get your work done and ask questions as needed. Don't worry about looking stupid for asking a lot of questions, chances are the other kids are wondering the same thing but are too scared to ask. The world doesn't revolve over everything you do or say, no one is gonna lie awake at night gossiping to others about the question you asked in calculus. 5, work hard and get into AP classes, it's gonna be SO much easier in the future with you if you do so. I'm in AP math and got the option to take division college courses now. That means I can graduate college this year or next year if I wanted. Also be nice to your teachers, so that if you ever need help they'll be willing to help you. 6, if you are scared of getting to your classes late, don't worry. Trust me, this was my ultimate biggest fear when I started middle school. Most classes are in number order, so all you have to do is follow that order to get to class. Most people are late for the first week anyway, so the chances of you getting in trouble are little to none. 7, wear whatever you want. I'm not gonna lie, some kids get made fun of for their clothes. But at the end of the day it's not that deep, kids will forget the next day. As long as your happy no one cares. 8, makeup. Most girls at my school wear natural false lashes and gel brows. It's okay if you wanna do makeup, by all means feel free to express yourself. But I don't recommend going overboard just because if you sweat throughout the day your makeup will get messed up. And if you're gonna wear makeup, make sure you do it right or else it just looks like you're trying too hard. 9, hygiene. I can SMELL some girls mustyness when they walk by, so please do deodorant every morning and take showers every day or two days. My personal rule for myself is ten swipes of deodorant per armpit, a small spray of perfume/cologne/body mist over the armpit, and scented lotion. That way you can stay fresh all day, and dont forget to reapply deodorant after gym if you have it. Brush your teeth everyday, and chew mint gum after lunch to prevent bad breath. And lastly, 10. BE YOURSELF. Live middle school without regrets, have fun and do well. Hope this helps yall, you will do great, I promise 🥴 Bonus tip: feel free to date if you want, I actually recommend it. It gives you experience so you won't be awkward later on in life, and your s/o can actually help you grow as a person and become more mature. If you don't wanna date, that's fine too! But if you choose to, don't only focus on guys/girls/pals, it will distract you from studies and friends and you won't do well.
Going into my freshman year august 23, everything in this video is really helpful advice. Middle school can be hard since everyone is changing but overall middle school can be fun. 1. A big thing for girls in middle school, some girls will tend to point out every little imperfection on other girls bodies, their chest, their behind, the way they dress. Please try not to let it bother you. 2. Also everyone seems to want to grow up way too fast and get into relationships, your still young take your time. I’m not saying that relationships are bad or anything since they are a learning experience, but don’t go dating someone just to date someone. Take the time to get to know the person you like first before getting into a relationship right away with that person.
my advice: dont get into a relationship with anybody! bc then you’ll get very stressed with trying to focus on family, grades, if u have sports/special events, and then ur gf/bf to focus on. my advice tho! if you really want a relationship go for it :)
I’m a freshman next year too so advice for middle schoolers: don’t get too focused on drama because it will take your focus away from the important things. It’s not gonna matter in a couple years who dated who in sixth grade, what will matter is “do I think I did my best” and “could my grades have been better” Next, always stay organized it helps with remembering homework. Meaning don’t be lazy and shove papers in your backpack, put it in a folder or binder. Always have a goal, mine was to keep all my A’s above 95. Only keep some close friends but still make as many friends as possible, they could potentially in the future be your best friend. DO SPORTS AND EXTRACURRICULARS!!! This allows you to meet people who you might’ve thought were too “popular” or “cool” for you. I’m a fidgeter (not sure I spelled that right) so I keep a hair and or stretchy bead braclet in my bag or on my wrist so when I have to focus that’s what I use to keep the noise down. Challenge yourself, last year I took a chance and took a foriegn language a year early and achieved the highest grade in the class, and took geometry which is two years ahead of where I should be. It’s made me some great friends that will last throughout highschool. But don’t challenge yourself to the point where you can’t do it anymore. (I should probably take my own advice…) REMEMBER: *THE GRADE YOU GET IS WHAT YOU DESERVE*
my god, I am less than a week into starting nursing school and I'm here, getting tips about middle school. Biggest tip, don't take any of this for granted, you will miss it.
The biggest piece of advice, if someone talks shit about someone TO you, they will probably talk shit ABOUT you. Stay away from those people. There will be drama but stay impartial and try to stay out of it as much as possible. Don't try and act older just to be cool, if your friend make u feel like u need to do that, they aren't worth hanging around.
honestly, just stay organized, pay attention in class, take notes when provided and get to places quickly. youre gonna probably lose or gain a few friends, dont beat urself up over it if you lose one, its normal. it just becomes a routine after like, 3 weeks of being in middle school. dont be afraid to ask older kids where something is, they’ll probably just take you there because it means they dont have to really be in the class they gotta go to lol.
Emphasis on the pay attention in class. Online school let me off the hook after ~10 months of bullshitting around. I'm so behind, but I'm spending my summer break studying.
Video popped up for me and it’s very very good because I’m going to middle school and I know nothing about it so this is gonna give me tips and advice. This girl is the best.❤
Middle school was by far the worst thing I have ever been put through. I’m still traumatized, and I left that place a while back. High school is way better, and I’m just living the good life. I have friends now. Like we go out (and we can drive now) and do things friends.
I was scrolling through my recommended and saw this. I immediately clicked. I’m going into my first year of middle school in the fall and hoped this would help. I am on the very edge of the line for my elementary school, so there are very few of my friends going to my middle school. I actually cried myself to sleep last night. It’s been about 2 weeks or so since I got out of school, and last night is when it hit me I will probably never see most of my friends again. My octopus was on the frowning side.
hi! I'm going to be a sophomore, and transitioning to a freshman was definitely not easy in a pandemic especially w distance learning! for those going into middle school, just be yourself and enjoy your middle school year! One thing I regret is having the mindset of not liking my middle school year! You'll feel like you're maturing/growing, but take it easy and don't rush into it. Classes & grades are one of the biggest changes, you'll probably have orientation and you'll get used to the school grounds, don't freak out if you're late to class on the first day for not knowing your class. Friends will change, just pick a group of friends where it's drama-free and toxic-free, choose your friends wisely. Time management-wise, practice that now!!! Learn how to prioritize your work & grades while you're still in middle school because once you get into high school, it's gonna be so much harder. My freshman year of high school was supposed to be my easiest year due to the pandemic, my time management skills went into the gutter. Relationships in middle school, like she said in the video! it depends, and it's your opinion but for me, I don't think you should date in middle school! You're still growing and maturing, relationships in middle school most likely won't last long unless you're "lucky" but don't waste your time trying to find a s/o in middle school, have fun! I'm happy for not dating until hs, I had more freedom & time with friends! middle school relationships, in GENERAL, are just not ideal. P.S nobody cares what you do or look like, or whatever embarrassing action! they will most likely not remember.
Ok I’m also going into freshman year!! Whoo! Advice for the middle schoolers: it does not matter who’s dating who, what’s happening in other people’s lives, and drama doesn’t last. I promise you that if you focus on all these things, you are going to put off the important things. Always always, make sure that your homework is caught up, cause the bad grades will catch up.
This is literally a perfect video because i’m going into middle school (7th) there’s this weird thing my school does is that 6th grade is intermediate and then 7 & 8 is middle school. lysm alyssa!
same!! im going to 7th grade but for my school from 1st grade to 6th is intermediate or elementary then 7-9 is middle school, then 10-12 is high school :) so this video was great help.
As a person who has spent my 13 years of my life over 8 different states, this video was really helpful! I just moved during the middle of 7th grade and it has been difficult, so thank you so much for these great tips!
my middle school advice as a freshman: focus on school and spend time studying, but not to the point where you burn out. (personally i only needed 30 minutes, but that is different for everyone) grades don't matter for college just yet, but it's better to learn how you personally enjoy studying and essentially "learn how to learn efficiently." and dont be scared to talk to people and make friends, if it doesn't go well they'll forget it by high school. middle school is the shortest/smallest "grade group" so enjoy it while it lasts! enjoy middle school!
Oh my lord your voice is so clear, literally it has so much sense, I understand everything, wow, thank you for explaining clear, thanks for the tips! 👍 😊
As someone who’s now going to early college from middle school: friends aren’t always the choice, I had friends for one year and they all made me feel bad about myself, so then I dropped them and now I feel better. If they ever make you feel bad drop them immediately
My advice: don’t let anyone push u around. DO NOT get in a fight, if anything it’s embarrassing And there’s honestly no point your both going to go back and see eachother again, all u do is get in trouble :)
You are bright, considerate. and have some good advice. Your high school teachers are going to tell you what they expect on the first day of class. So take good notes as you have in the past and consider having a note buddy to exchange notes. What one person misses the other one will get. Congratulations on being a year ahead in math.
Also on Brooklyn and Bailey I saw that you should always bring a jacket in case your on your period so you can tie it around your waist to cover it up if that happens to you
hello! im your toxic friend reader :) -when you first met did she immediately become besties or did it take a little to gain trust? -does she ask you for stuff every day? (money, toys, borrowing your phone etc. -does she fake having stuff, but when you ask somebody, she acts innocent? -most importantly, does she make you feel bad about yourself? (saying your fat, you need to wear makeup, tells you to wear certain stuff etc. these are all the things i experienced with toxic friends.
Hey should i drop one of my friends? -when i met her i was just saying hi but then i was her “best friend” even though I was just trying to be nice -she pulled a knife on me once and she called it a joke -I was virtual and then i went to school event with one of my friends that i introduced her to and now they r like “besties” but now she’s moving school and i feel like she’s just gonna take another one of my friends and replace me again 🥲 WHAT DO I DOOOO😭😭😭
I think that is important that is being nice to people about this video. Because they can really let you pass. Just try your hardest, don’t focus on drama when it’s not the time.
I am excited for my first year of middle school! I am going into 7th bc my school is dumb. But my advice in general is to make new friends as soon as you can in each year if your group of friends changes you will have the other friends on your back!
congrats! don’t be so worried, 6th grade is honestly the same as 5th there’s just lots of changes especially with having different classes and going to a whole new school. don’t try to act cooler than anyone else, and definitely try to make friends! school is better with friends so don’t be scared to talk to people :)
for all my young middle school / freshman’s: please please please take school seriously, it gets harder as you move up , i did not take freshman year seriously and had to work extra hard and even had to make up hours after school for my senior year but luckily graduated high school last week , another thing about relationships/ friendships: please learn to let people who are not motivated to do anything with their life because that will make you think that it’s ok to have that mentality, associate with people who have goals because that can inspire you to do the same and one LAST THING ESPECIALLY for my girls , yes GIRLS , learn to respect yourself and do NOT let these guys get in your pants , freshman year dating is NOT and should NOT be your first priority , wait until you’re in junior and senior year where guys and girls are starting to grow up and become more responsible and mature , good luck for all my middle school and freshman’s soon to be , remember to enjoy your youth and most importantly BE A KID ! don’t try to grow up fast because trust me being an adult is NOT fun , yes you get more freedom and do wtv you want BUT you also have to learn to do everything by yourself and work your butt off so please enjoy being a kid , good luck ! 💘💘
As an upcoming sophomore here is my advice: Surround yourself with people that make you feel comfortable and happy. I promise you that will make middle school a blast!! If your friend talks badly about you then they are not ur friend!! trust me I’ve been through this and it went super bad. Please never do things that you don’t want to do. It’s okay to say no!! Other than that, middle school grades are not important (depending on ur school ofc) but you should definitely try your best if you want to get advanced classes in hs. Something I wish someone told me before growing up: it doesn’t matter what others think about you, the only thing that matters is what you think about yourself. Try new things and be yourself! Also for the love of god never compare yourself to others, everyone is unique in their own way :))
This video is helping me a lot cause next year I am going to 7th grade and I can,t wait but I need to be Productive and pay Attention to the teachers While in learning thanks this video helps a lottttt ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@EllieGrace789 ok so basic answer to ur question is yes. but when i was in sixth grade pretty much half of the year was online so ofc mine isn’t gonna be rlly the same as urs but if u stay out of drama drop toxic friends and try ur hardest u should have fun. anyways i hope u have a great summer and enjoy middle school ❣️
You got this girl! I just finished 6th grade, and it's not as scary as it seems! Obviously, it's exciting, but try not to make it a big deal. Everything is SUPER laid back, and you will do absolutely amazing!
honestly, in middle school, just dont gaf. nothing really matters in middle school, leave people alone. mind ur damn buisness. stay out of drama. do ur damn school work. boom ur all set. thats basically how i got thru middle school lmao
YESS thankyou for the period part! I start school tomorrow and my cycle is a little late and I know it could happen any moment now, so thankyou sooo much! 😭💞
ok guys! here's some advice for u- take it if u need it! (P.S. in my 3rd year of middle school rn:)) 1. if you're in your 1st year of middle school, like this girl said, don't date. PLZ. you might have a crush on a boy, and especially if he is older than u, atleast wait a year. i got my feelings hurt a couple of years ago from a boy who i really liked. he was in 8th grade, and i was new to the whole "dating" thing and i ended up getting my feelings really hurt by this boy. i still like him to this day... 2. ur friends are going to change! especially if you are a girl, a lot of your friends are going to drift out of your life. mostly bc a lot of us girls when we first enter middle school start going through puberty, getting hormones, periods, mood swings, etc. don't worry abt it! everyone goes through it, and we're all going through changes so don't be surprised if u hop in and out of different friend groups!! 3. don't look down on elementary kids LOL. a lot of kids, when they get into middle school in like 6th grade look down on the 5th graders. like- ok its a years difference, youre still a kid. just bc you are in middle school now, doesnt make you more mature and grown up. 4. you're going to have those friends or just certain people that you don't like, or just dont get along with as well as your other friends. THATS OK. we are all growing up at different paces, learning new things every day, and maturing. SOME mature faster than others. if you don't get along with someone, please dont cause drama. it will end up being worse for you than it is for that person. if you create something little and turn it into a big problem it will come back at you!! please, i stand by this. i learned my lesson a couple of years ago, and now im homeschooled. if you can just be FRIENDLY to everyone, thats the safest route to take!!
I just finished my first year of middle school, but let me tell you, you got this girl! Some extra advice that Alyssa didn't cover will be listed below if you are interested in taking a look. 1. Don’t get into drama. There’s going to be a lot of it. It’s not worth wasting your energy on things that won’t matter the next day, this difficulty applies to me personally, ESPECIALLY with friends. 2. Don’t be cruel. Hurting other people won’t make you feel any better about yourself, whether it's words, texts, or physical. And trust me, it will only make the other person feel worse about themselves. 3. Try harder in the classes you hate. You will lose motivation for a class if you have a negative mindset towards it, which could cause you to fail. 4. Stick with the people you trust, and those who make you feel better about yourself. If you hang out with people who set bad examples or lower your self-esteem, it could lead you down a not-so-good path. 5. You don’t need to be popular. Of course, you would still want to be trendy, and not disliked, but being popular in middle school won't do anything good, nor bad for your future. 6. Trust yourself. This is probably the best piece of advice, listen to yourself and don't make bad decisions. They can take a while to get over and cause sleepless nights, which you need your sleep. 7. You’ll be uncomfortable at first, but you’ll get used to it. For me personally, it took me two days to get used to middle school, me and my friend were transitioning from middle school after we were remote for 3 quarters of the school year, but my friend was uncomfortable for 2 months, and that's totally okay as well. 8. You have SO much support. The teachers are BEYOND supportive in middle school, my history teacher was AMAZING. He welcomed anyone and everyone into his learning enviroment. The counselors are amazing, and they will support you with everything from adapting to middle school or picking college courses or even finding out who you are. 9. Admit if you need help. WITH ANYTHING. 10. Find WHAT makes you happy, and WHO makes you happy. That will support you in the biggest way.
I’m in seventh grade! It’s normal to be Nervous because you’re gonna be in a new environment, and you’ll be exposed to new things but don’t stress about it to much, you’ll meet many new people, learn new things, maybe Go through different experiences that will teach you lessons, and you’ll make a lot of memories! Something I’d tell you is to just enjoy it because time flys I was just in sixth grade and now I’m going to eight grade😭, it feels just like yesterday:)
Ima tell my sister who’s going to sixth to watch this! It was super helpful for me and I’m a rising freshmen! ❤️✨ also what does ur high school specialize in? I did the same and applied for a performing arts school because I play in orchestra and really enjoy it!! Also tip for anyone try to pick an elective you will actually enjoy and not one that all your friends are doing just because! Colleges love to see that you’ve stuck with a hobby for a long time!
just got done w 6th grade year this is the most real video you could get for middle school,For the people iffy if they should watch this do it!I wish i've listened to this when I was still in 6th grade
I’m in 7th grade…and my averages are about a B+ to and A+ except for math. I really struggle with math and I got a C+ on my exam…do you have any tips for math/ algebra?
hey! im finishing 7th grade aswell, and i also am doing much worse in math than any of my other subjects. i would just try and turn in all your work, and make sure to write algebra notes/formulas down.
SAME! That’s so trueeee I suck at math but all the other subjects I do pretty fine with. The thing is tho I’m not really worried about that because I already know what I’m talented at and know what I’m going to be doing when I get older and it has nothing to do with math so yeah
I’m a freshman, just finished 8th grade. I always struggled in math/algebra. But something that helped is ask your teachers for help. I was e-learning for most of 8th grade and failing many class, but going back to school and having the teachers help me helped a lot!!
one thing i would like to add, is that it def depends on your teacher. if you have a nice teacher who explains things, u should be good as long as u listen.
ok guys here’s my best advice which i really feel like everyone needs to hear:
in school literally NO ONE cares and remembers anything embarrassing, or uncool that you have ever did
like seriously, people don’t even remember what you wore yesterday unless they REALLY liked it
so, all the overthinking that you have done, is pointless in the end. no one is judging you they are too busy judging themselves.
I really needed to hear this, thank you squidwards sister.
Squidward’s sister is wise Indeed,
Thank you
ahh thanks for telling me! i did so many embarrassing things in elementary school.
Everyone's going to remember, but no one's going to care. You'll be embarrassed for two days and then no one will give a shit. It'll be old news.
yes! holy crap i don’t even remember what I wore yesterday
istg the 8th graders looked so old when i was in 6th grade, and now i’m in hs. please enjoy middle school yall, it’s not that difficult if you pay attention and do ur work. good luck!!

Yeh!
college freshman here, and my answers to each section are:
-friends: youll know who your solid, closest friends are, and if you dont find them in middle school, youll probably find them in high school. my best friends ive been friends with since 8th grade and theyre the most supportive people in my life. youll have fights and arguments sometimes (if its frequent, drop them) but re-evaluate if its a worthy fight to put up or if you could just drop it.
-grades: grades dont matter in the grand scheme of things, but middle school is meant to help you learn how to study and get good grades. work for yourself, get the grades you feel like YOU deserve. if you disagree with your grade, talk with your teacher for retakes, extra help after school, etc. middle school is to prepare you for high school (also i had more homework in middle school in comparison to high school, just saying)
-relationships: dating in middle school doesnt exist. im sorry but it doesnt. also boys dont mature ever. my best friends are guys and he still laughs at farts. honestly, if you feel like dating someone in middle school, do it, but if you want something more serious and committed, wait until high school.
-random:
-I am a freshman in college going into vocal music education to become a choir teacher
-high school was fine for me, just stay out of drama, dont worry about popularity, its not worth it
-periods are normal and natural. dont be ashamed or stressed about it, it happens to everyone with a uterus
-middle school was boring, thats it. youll remember barely anything
-i dress up every day, but i dress for myself.
hope this helped anyone going into/in middle school, if you have any other questions feel free to send them my way!
“boys don’t mature ever”
_objection!_ bro physically? I’m 14. Mentally? I’m like in my mid 20s
And please feel free to reply to this comment if u need any advice or if u have any questions :) remember, ur perfect the way u are and Ilysm

literally just graduated middle school a week ago. my advice is just do ur own thing. stop caring abt what other ppl think bc everyone else is too busy with their own stuff to care. and don’t forget to be nice, it helps a lot !!
@@juliannalopez4428 this!! be ur own self and you’ll get ppl who like u for u. how u look does not matter
@@alizah100 your speaking facts! it really does not matter how you look because at the end of the day looks don't get you anywhere its how you do in school that gets you somewhere in life. jobs don't look at looks they look at your education that you have gotten the job world wants the best of the best and stuff so don't change how you look UNLESS YOU want to change how you look but if other people force you to put on for example clothes you don't usually wear then don't put them on the important thing here is how YOU feel and what YOU want not what other people want so once you get into middle school if you want to change how you dress and look then go for it because its what YOU want now if you don't want to change how you look then that is ok too. do what you want to do, me for example, as I said I went through my whole 3 years of middle school putting on comfortable clothes and stuff and I was just fine with it because I was not ready to change how I looked yet but now I have decided to change how I look because that is what I want no one told me I had to change I was the one that was feeling like I should move onto more clothes that are cute but comfortable and stuff I took my time with changing myself I remember my mom and sister saying I should change how I look because its middle school but I didn't do that because I was just not ready to change how I looked yet but now since I am about to go into high school and stuff I feel more ready to change my style and put on things that are cute and comfortable

this is the first video about middle school problems that's actually straight up. thank you so much it rlly helped!🤩
my advice for people that are going to start middle school:
don’t change yourself for the sake of others.
basically what i mean is, don’t change yourself to make other people happy. like your appearance, personality, etc. because that is what makes you, well, you. don’t change yourself to be popular or for popular people to like you more because at the end of the day, almost everybody in middle school is incredibly insecure of themselves. they aren’t cool, and you’ll realize that eventually. i know it’s easy to say that because i too have changed myself for others. both my appearance and personality. i thought it would make me popular, to look and act like them. but it didn’t. at all. so please keep that in mind.
good luck for people that are nervous for middle school. you’ll do great 🫶🏼
im not even in middle school anymore but I'm still watching this for some reason lol
When or if you do break up with the person you're with in the same school as you there will definitely be drama, if you like drama then go for it.
ikr lol also everyone else seems so grown up in middle school, like it makes me feel like a ten year old high schooler
NATSUKI GOT GOOD POINTS!
as a girl whos going to be a sophomore in hs next year, this video was very accurate, honest, and helpful. It's also very well organized/put together :) Thanks sm for making this, I wish I had this when I went into middle school!
“Are B’s and C’s Good grades?”
Asian parents: ABSOLUTELY NOT
So true!!!! My mom saw my siblings report card, it had only one C and Mostly B’s and A’s she said it was Okay, and pretty good 😎
I don’t have Asian parents, American and Dominican parents and they are like: A’s and B’s only, relationships when you’re over 18, and no children,
Also my black parents:
I can't get any lower than a B, If i get lower than a B I won't be in advanced classes anymore 😭✋
edit: removed "im not asian" because my dumbass forgot i was.
Middle school advice, mainly for grades:
If you want good grades, here is how I study. It's pretty efficient, for me at least.
Before I sit down I think about a few things:
-What topic is it?
-What notes do I need?
-How will my notes be organized?
-What should I look for to understand better? (What I mean by this is "How should I re-explain it to myself so I can understand it?")
I get the basic supplies according to what topic (ex. math - protractor)
Studying isn't like a shopping spree. You have to sit down and *be organized* . Get your crap together. Force yourself to study.

Middle school is fun, but here are some tips to navigate through it! Some tips I have is:
Hope this helps yall, you will do great, I promise 🥴
Bonus tip: feel free to date if you want, I actually recommend it. It gives you experience so you won't be awkward later on in life, and your s/o can actually help you grow as a person and become more mature. If you don't wanna date, that's fine too! But if you choose to, don't only focus on guys/girls/pals, it will distract you from studies and friends and you won't do well.
Some advice:
Go up to them!
Be friendly ( even if their not)
Don’t feel pressure to change
Aye I’m going to freshman year too fellow demon slayer fan
hello i just graduated high school & this is so wholesome! enjoy it guys, don't care too much about what others think :')
my advice: dont get into a relationship with anybody! bc then you’ll get very stressed with trying to focus on family, grades, if u have sports/special events, and then ur gf/bf to focus on. my advice tho! if you really want a relationship go for it :)
in my opinion,, just don't let it affect your life to much i was in a relationship in 6th and i was fine idk thats just me :D
@@janekendall865 yes! exactly :)
wait this was right on time with my freshman year!
You can tell she is sweet bc the way her voice sounds❤ Thank you
The biggest piece of advice, if someone talks shit about someone TO you, they will probably talk shit ABOUT you.
Ty for this I’m going into year 7 soon and I’m really nervous
don’t be nervous, it was my favorite year! it’s more fun than elementary in my opinion.

THIS^^ me too, i hope we both do good our first year!

@Sophia Vallejo lol, really? i would ask what school you go to but that would be dangerous saying in public
same!! im going to 7th grade but for my school from 1st grade to 6th is intermediate or elementary then 7-9 is middle school, then 10-12 is high school :) so this video was great help.

Why is Alyssa drop dead gorgeous!! 💗
Ahhh I love this! Ty for the advice Alyssa🤍
(personally i only needed 30 minutes, but that is different for everyone)
grades don't matter for college just yet, but it's better to learn how you personally enjoy studying and essentially "learn how to learn efficiently."
and dont be scared to talk to people and make friends, if it doesn't go well they'll forget it by high school.
middle school is the shortest/smallest "grade group" so enjoy it while it lasts!
enjoy middle school!

If they ever make you feel bad drop them immediately
im gonna be a sophomore this august and these tips are amazing
Im going on middle school thank you so much!❤
I’m going into middle school, and I am absolutely horrified. This helped me a lot, thanks!
Also on Brooklyn and Bailey I saw that you should always bring a jacket in case your on your period so you can tie it around your waist to cover it up if that happens to you
Advice: go talk to them
Lockdown: NO! She’s gonna be alone FOREVER

im going into sophomore year and this advice is the BEST still
hello! im your toxic friend reader :)
-when you first met did she immediately become besties or did it take a little to gain trust?
-does she ask you for stuff every day? (money, toys, borrowing your phone etc.
-does she fake having stuff, but when you ask somebody, she acts innocent?
-most importantly, does she make you feel bad about yourself? (saying your fat, you need to wear makeup, tells you to wear certain stuff etc.
these are all the things i experienced with toxic friends.
Hey should i drop one of my friends?
-when i met her i was just saying hi but then i was her “best friend” even though I was just trying to be nice
-she pulled a knife on me once and she called it a joke
-I was virtual and then i went to school event with one of my friends that i introduced her to and now they r like “besties” but now she’s moving school and i feel like she’s just gonna take another one of my friends and replace me again 🥲 WHAT DO I DOOOO😭😭😭
I think that is important that is being nice to people about this video. Because they can really let you pass. Just try your hardest, don’t focus on drama when it’s not the time.
I needed this thank you ❤️

for all my young middle school / freshman’s: please please please take school seriously, it gets harder as you move up , i did not take freshman year seriously and had to work extra hard and even had to make up hours after school for my senior year but luckily graduated high school last week , another thing about relationships/ friendships: please learn to let people who are not motivated to do anything with their life because that will make you think that it’s ok to have that mentality, associate with people who have goals because that can inspire you to do the same and one LAST THING ESPECIALLY for my girls , yes GIRLS , learn to respect yourself and do NOT let these guys get in your pants , freshman year dating is NOT and should NOT be your first priority , wait until you’re in junior and senior year where guys and girls are starting to grow up and become more responsible and mature , good luck for all my middle school and freshman’s soon to be , remember to enjoy your youth and most importantly BE A KID ! don’t try to grow up fast because trust me being an adult is NOT fun , yes you get more freedom and do wtv you want BUT you also have to learn to do everything by yourself and work your butt off so please enjoy being a kid , good luck ! 💘💘
As an upcoming sophomore here is my advice:
Surround yourself with people that make you feel comfortable and happy. Also for the love of god never compare yourself to others, everyone is unique in their own way :))

ok guys! here's some advice for u- take it if u need it! (P.S. in my 3rd year of middle school rn:))
1. if you're in your 1st year of middle school, like this girl said, don't date. PLZ. you might have a crush on a boy, and especially if he is older than u, atleast wait a year. i got my feelings hurt a couple of years ago from a boy who i really liked. he was in 8th grade, and i was new to the whole "dating" thing and i ended up getting my feelings really hurt by this boy. i still like him to this day...
2. ur friends are going to change! especially if you are a girl, a lot of your friends are going to drift out of your life. mostly bc a lot of us girls when we first enter middle school start going through puberty, getting hormones, periods, mood swings, etc. don't worry abt it! everyone goes through it, and we're all going through changes so don't be surprised if u hop in and out of different friend groups!!
3. don't look down on elementary kids LOL. a lot of kids, when they get into middle school in like 6th grade look down on the 5th graders. like- ok its a years difference, youre still a kid. just bc you are in middle school now, doesnt make you more mature and grown up.
4. you're going to have those friends or just certain people that you don't like, or just dont get along with as well as your other friends. THATS OK. we are all growing up at different paces, learning new things every day, and maturing.
Thank you. I’m going to the 6th grade next year and my mom is like WHATEVER YOU DO DONT DATE. I’m like I don’t 😂
I just finished my last year of elementary( Fifth Grade) and I am so nervous for Middle School! Thank you for the tips!
@@chloeryanne619 Thank you so much! You are so supportive and nice! Thank you for the tips!
