Very well done! I feel that the majority of doctors don’t know, themselves, how to treat MCI.

Very good point, Lisa. It makes me sad to say this, but I think you're right. I've had people tell me that after they were diagnosed with MCI, their primary care doctor had never heard of it. There is a lot of education that still needs to be done about that.

My cognitive ability remains intact. It is my short term memory, which is giving me problems. I am 89 years old. I can still do Suduku with ease, but learning new things is hard because I keep forgetting what I just learned. Learning is like a pyramid. You build on something that you just laid.

I would watch for 40 or more minutes 👍🙂

Thanks, Jane. I try to keep my videos relatively short, usually under 5 minutes although this one is longer. But if you find you want more information, please feel free to follow the links to the full treatment guidelines and my treatment checklist. I appreciate your interest.

I like longer videos, but I do better with the shorter ones because of my attention span.

You said it! My husband has mild cognitive impairment due to FTD. He goes to 7 doctors, GP, Urologist,Cardiologist, Neurosurgeon, Neurologist, Neuro-phsychologist, and an Oral Surgeon for dental issues. When I asked what can be done, there are no concrete suggestions. I do the driving and every detail of household maintainance, finances ,cooking and repairs. It would be nice to have some kind of blueprint with advice and support.

My thoughts are with you, Liz. FTD is what my mother had, so I am all too familiar with it. If you are looking for more information, all of my guides, info sheets and other resources are available in the Free Library on my site, and you can find that here: gocogno.com/join-gocogno-free-library/
In terms of support, I am part of a private Facebook group for people with MCI. It's a wonderfully supportive community where people share advice and encouragement. If you would be interested in that, you can join here: facebook.com/groups/1558323031164795/

The physician who diagnosed my husband recommended a supplement called Acytle-CH. He said to start low and slow and told us my husband could move up to 10 capsule per day if needed. My husband started out with two capsules and now takes four of them. This supplement has REALLY helped my husband over the past 10-15 years. He also sees a Functional Medicine Physician every six months who has optimized his metabolic system, adding a low dose of thyroid medication, and the vitamins, minerals and supplements that his blood labs show he needed. He walks daily and eats a nutrient rich Ketogenic diet. Progress not perfection.
