Hello Friend how are you?. What a beautiful place to observe birds, I loved all those species and the good shots you managed to do. Congratulations and have a great weekend.
Thanks for that Brian. I think there is a long way to go for that in reality but I have certainly played around with sound editing and think that makes a big difference.
I haven't made any videos at Elmley. Spring would be the best time when you can get close to breeding birds along the entry road but when I was making my videos in 2020 and 2021 they had made booking a visit essential and the times the reserve was open were not very convenient either in terms of terms of the light. When videoing the weather conditions (particularly avoiding wind) are important so having to pre-book a visit wasn't very convenient for me. This spring I have been living in Thailand so have not been able to go. Oare is also good and in fact I have quite a lot of footage shot there but somehow I have not got around to putting it together. I have some footage of Water Rail from there which your comment has reminded me of so I will take a look at that and see how I can make a short video about it.
Thanks Andrew. Shorebirds are a special group aren't they? I have been spending time watching and getting close to these birds at this location; a nice way to really appreciate them even though they are common birds here.
Beautiful video. I really like how still or calm your camera is: so we can really see what the birds are doing, how the water flows along and so on, lovely realistic, stunning shots! Thanks.
Hi Nick ,This is a stunner of a video .Winter in UK means few people , add the pandemic and the place belongs to you and an avian orchestra and gymnasts .Gull and geese always sound so very special .There are some who think UK has little bird life .I find it wonderful and your video shows how much there is .Have a wonderful weekend and if you aren't here again before Christmas , wish you a good time and see you next year... Best wishes from Berlin .. 👍🌲
Thank you very much Helena. Exactly, the thing that strikes me every time I go there is that I have the place to myself. It is only an hour's drive from London but such a lonely place. Most people can't beleive me when I tell them how much wildlife there is in places like this, they think you have to travel to the Serengeti or something when in fact it is on the doorstep. A few years ago I was doing some winter birding along the Rhine, near Baden-Baden and I had the same feeling of space and wilderness even though I was close to heavily populated areas. Hope you have a good Christmas.
Wow ❣️.....beautiful congregation of shore birds, loved the oystercatchers specially ❤. Thanks for sharing nature's wonder with us. Greetings from India 🇮🇳
I love your videos! Thank you for posting. I love oyster catchers and I didn't know they gathered in flocks like that. I also throughly enjoyed the section about gulls ❤️
Thank you, that's kind of you to say that. Glad you liked the gulls, I always try to spread some gull love. Too many people don't like them but they are interesting characters.

@1:22 Like Starling murmurations. I didn’t know that!
Indeed, many waders do the same thing. Cliffe Marshes is a good place to see this in winter.

I'm good thanks, hope you are too. Yes, it is a great location and I have spent many hours there waiting for birds to come close. All the best.

Have you posted any videos from Elmley marshes on Sheppey? Also Oare nature reserve near Faversham. If not I’d love to see your views on them?!
