      Next time you are flying to/from Europe see if there are any well priced stopover flights

      Thanks Gijs. Yes, I only had a short time in Oman but found it an easy place to deal with, cheap and interesting. I will certainly go back.

    A beautiful quotation which I have noted .Sooty gull is wonderful and like their relatives , make astonishing music and as you say provide a 1st class clean up service ..Request ) please make an audio of gulls calling .Can sit for hours. listening and looking .Thanks Nick for a. superb video .

      Yes, it is a nice quote, one I wasn't familiar with before making this video. The poem it is from is an old one and was written in the Welsh language. Glad you like gulls, I do but so many people do not. Thanks for the nice comment.

    My most memorable sad memory happened in Berlin a. city where several species live. .No sea but lots of water and most of all food ,.Getting off the bus I saw a Herring gull on a car mat .It was dead having been hit by a car ..A gentleman ( no idea who he was ) and I buried it in some beautiful gardens .We both liked gulls & didn't want it be eaten by rats or crows .two species that have food a plenty . A far cry from sitting watching them in Kent where. the sea & their music sent me to sleep . Perfect bliss.

      That's a lovely story. A funeral for a gull. Where in Kent did you watch gulls? I am from Dartford in Kent and when I am back there I always visit locations for gulls - notably Mediterranean Gull.

      @@BirdingwithNick Visiting a friend in. Sellindge , Went out and found a wonderful spot at Hythe..It was beautiful , out of season, sea and gulls galore They were in all truth better then. the Berlin Phil
