Die Fantasy-Serie Shannara basiert auf der gleichnamigen Romanreihe aus der Feder von Terry Brooks. Jonathan Liebesman übernimmt die Inszenierung der ersten zwei Episoden. Insgesamt soll die erste Staffel der MTV-Serie zehn Episoden umfassen und sich hinsichtlich der Geschichte am zweiten Buch der Vorlage, The Elfstones of Shannara, orientieren.

The lead character of this so is absolute crap his character never peak in the whole show only good thing of this shit is the story all other things are crap my suggestion never watch this show
It's good series and story but the love scenes of the lead characters ruined everything I couldnt hold those cringe moments eventually I lost my interest watching. 😥

Am I the only one who actually got excited about the trailer and loved the show so much? Maybe my expectations are low... but I do love the cast, the acting, the effects and stuff... 😅 It's really enjoyable to watch, and it takes away your boredoom.

Its based on the secon book from Terry Brooks Shanara series, it has mild blood scenes.
The show is good actually.maybe people could stop judging something before watching them.

Lol, I do like the joke but...The guy who plays( John Rhys Davis) Gimli and the elf in Shannara has played so many movies, even Indiana Jones, started play movies in the 60’s. Sci-fi and medieval movies are his specialty. So not really weird to see him in Shannara. I thought actually he finished his career (he is over the 70’s), but guess not.

5 episodes in waiting for a slump and it hasn't come! THIS SHOW ROCKS. I read most of the books and just wonder if there will be follow up seasons, I noticed they skipped 'Sword of Shannara' - possibly due to copyright LOTR issues?

To know that he was completley heartbroken and sad during the shooting of this series because of his mother’s passing makes it hard for me to rewatch this series.
The trailer looks pretty awful but the show isn't as bad the trailer. It's not as complex as GoT. It's very Lord of the ringsy and it'll satisfy your fantasy itch. It's not shit anyway like the trailer would have you believe.
The books where criticized for being very similar to Tolkien, but I still enjoyed them

I don't like this TV series. (it probably has a higher appeal to teenagers)
- mediocre cgi/special effects/costumes
- bad acting
- actors look like beverly hills teenage models on a costume party
- poorly written dialogues

Fuck, yeah, this looks horrible. I loved the books as a child, and I am frankly appalled to see how they have been done for the TV medium. Why did they have to strip the franchise of its dignity like this?
I enjoy the show, its great to watch while I wait for Game of Thrones new season to come out. One problem that always bothers me with nearly every TV show is that they have to emphasize women power. I have no problem with women, and I support equality with men. Why are there no more badass guys anymore? Why does every guy in a series have to be stupid or talk big only to get shut down? Can shows just try and be a little less politically correct?

I haven’t seen this show. But usually to compensate for all shows being male centric, the pendulum swings slightly too far the other way. Remember prior to now, MOST shows had 1 female for every 2-3 males. Harry Potter, Pokemon, Digimon, Gargoyles (so good tho!) Remember when they use to make ALL blonde females dumb AF. Now it's less so.
I’m a female and I actually prefer to have shows/books/movies focus on male leads that aren’t acting like wimps. Sadly, they try to please everyone by being politically correct. It’s sad.

am i the only one with the theory that the tree lives on believe? when the show started, pretty much everyone was scoffing off at the idea that the tree is magical and that it was doing what the elders said it was doing. but then the leaves started to fall, the demons to come out and then the fight. and the tree got better (*when the person did the thing*) and now everyone believes again, so the tree is well. and in like 40 years when people start forgetting again, it might start dying again
It's based on a book, and the original Ellcrys stood for thousands of years. The new tree is not the same one, so it has nothing to do with beliefs
