This song gave me all the goosebumps during the credits. I was wondering where this theme was the whole game. It was really magical putting it right at the end. Brought tears to my eyes. Akira Yamaoka really gave us some beautiful versions of these beloved songs. I see that some people don't like them, but I think it really refreshing to get new versions of old classics. If it was the same song that played at the end, it would have been nice, but it was amazing slowly recognizing the song at the beginning of the credits. I would have recognized the original right away and I think it would have removed some of the magic. What a beautiful game. Thank you, Bloober Team. You really recaptured the beauty of Silent Hill. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us.
I saw him play the original version of this song live on guitar back in like 2010 at a Video Games Live concert. It was absolutely incredible. I even got to meet him afterwards and take a picture with him and have him sign some SH3 posters I printed out at my school. Such a cool dude. :) Edit: Also have you heard his IFuturelist album from back in the day? It’s super good and I forgot it existed until now. I think Injection of Love (Japanese version) is the best song on the album! :)
@navyhusky2020 i know! Me too!! I saw some comments from a few ppl saying it’d come out on November 20th. Hopefully that’s true, I’d love them to drop the whole album earlier tho. Here’s hoping!!
Damn, this version sounds so different compared to original but still so good nonetheless. It's more ethereal and open, and I think he even added some new chord changes, and overall it sounds even more melancholic
Sounds the same after listening to it a few the times, there are some new bass fills here and there for slides and stacctos though. It also doesn't have any of the old bass fills or bass run down anymore compared to the original and ToLII version.
there's something that hurt my brain, here and on promise (pragma) the guitar have palm stops that there arent in the original songs. the first songs i've learned with guitar 15years ago was those two..so my brain hates this modify ahaha
i understand what u meant😂 this, promise, and laura plays the piano kinda threw me off in the remake version I don't mean to question Akira Yamaoka work, but if it's not broke they shouldn't have fixed it
@@serbukmomogi hearing the different note timing in promise made me think there was something wrong with my ears, it was jarring and very hard to get used to, but once i did, man i love the new version a ton
The score for SH2 Remake it's realeasing on November 20. Majory of the music you will find it's from the Deluxe edition of the game, this is one of the versions of "Theme Of Laura" The one you're looking for it's getting released in november 20th probably ua-cam.com/video/_OYHU45soiY/v-deo.html (here is a preview)
Don't you mean Morgan Wallen's song sounds ALOT like Akira Yamaoka's work? I mean the music in SH2 precedes his song by 22 years. It's just some generic country song but the melody and instruments sounds like it is straight from Silent Hill 2.
i don’t think it’s really meant as a replacement. this version also plays as an end credits song for the leave ending as opposed to the opening movie like in the original. i think this version works pretty well given the tone of that ending and i think it makes sense to change it a little given the shift in placement. it’s the same composer after all.
@@beagle626 They didn’t call it a replacement, though. They just said it doesn’t hit close to the original, which is a valid thing to say since it’s clearly a version of the same theme.
@@pathetic2399 yeah i know i just meant this version of the song plays at a different moment in the remake vs the original. as an end credits song I think this works a bit better than the old version, though i also prefer the old version as a song. i think theres another version called Theme of Laura II for the remake as well.
Forgiveness is the final form of love.
In the "Leave" ending it was about letting go.

It sounds so dreamy... the whole remake got the "dreamy" tone of the original silent hill 2 on overdrive, and I love it!
Akira can do no wrong. Dude is a master at music.

The GOAT of horror music.
i'm still waiting for theme of Laura II
Same. The preview sounded super good
it's not there man, i've extracted all the ost heavier than 1 megabytes. probably will be in the maria dlc
Like how fighting game music is listed lol
Full soundtrack is dropping on 20th nov
Been looking everywhere for it. Is it even on the soundtrack?
Really, REALLY hope they add this album to spotify soon

Yup they gonna do it Yamaoka or one of his team already renamed the original Silent Hill 2 OST into original.

well he somehow had to change it for the remake. I think both versions are great.
there is another version Theme of Laura 2 which is close to the Original the full version has not been released yet

it plays in the end credits of the leave ending and i think it fits the vibe
@@beagle626oh my god you are a fucking saint thank you. I just beat the game and was BIG mad I didn’t hear it, and I got the water ending
It's incredible how this masterpiece hits even 20 years later. Akira Yamaoka is a genius.
I have been waiting a large huge portion of my life for this game to be re-made. It's finally here. I am happy.
I’ve used this as a guitar warm up since the original SH 2
I really love the intro of this version
Nothing can beat the OG.
Good job man. The volume is just nice. Will use your versions for my tracklist
@@fara.r.8181 awesome👍
Love the intro, however I still do prefer the original version since the riff hits harder imo
this really gives me chills damn 🥲🥲🥲

Thanks man
@@Adam_88 np bro 👍
mmmm interesting take on his own work, to say the least...
sounds a bit like he wasn't sure what to do with this one.
I like it. It's not as dynamic as the original, and I believe that's intentional as there would be no possible way to top it.
This is the most end game credits song I've ever heard
I did arrange and play the old one on acoustic using one guitar might try this good funky stuff going on here
Esta genial esta versión
No creo la guitarra suena muy seca
Suena como que la esta tocando mi tío 😅
not bad, but sound like some notes are missing (missing layering). Is that deliberate?
I bought the Soundtrack from Steam and it didn't even have this song. White Noise ( Actual Noise ) has the same intro, though.
What the hell is that ? M. Yamaoka how could you do this to the original theme that was so perfect ?

3:04 Just like the game there are stutters /s
This sounds like last night by Morgan wallen
Agreed!
The intro lowkey gave “Say yes to heaven” by Lana Del Rey
falto ese sonido característicos de la guitarra que tenia el original.....😢 ahora lo cambiaron por un bajo....
am i tripping or does the beginning riff sound alot like the beginning of last night by morgan wallen now lmao
I was thinking the same thing!

@@edwinsparda7622 I wanted to say that but the orginal riff from 2001 sounds nothing like the new riff
@venuvee04 I will say that the Remake's theme of Laura takes some cues from the unreleased Theme of Laura Acoustic. Just modernized.
@edwinsparda7622 definitely I actually noticed alot of the soundtracks sounded closer to their live performances of them
when exactly this theme playing in remake ? if its ending pls say which one
This theme playing after “Leave” ending
the name of the soundtrack at 13:27 ?
Evil nun
not to say it's bad but this definitely does not hit anywhere close to the original

It's not the remeke of the Laura Theme. The real one is Theme of Laura II and it's not out yet. There's only a preview
Yeah, this and the remake of Laura Plays the Piano didn’t do it for me.

not as good as the og. just feels like it cuts out random parts of the og song for no reason so it sounds incomplete
Honestly the original is still leagues better
This sounds more like an unused beta versión of the original game. Honestly, I don't like it.
Ну такое, оригинал всё же лучше как по мне
Dang. I wouldn’t be mad if they didn’t change one bit of them masterpiece ost. This is disaster 😂
there is another version Theme of Laura 2 which is close to the Original the full version has not been released yet
It's the original composer. He's just doing new versions.

@@Darude_Sandstorm yea I also saw his live performance vid. The OG version is just too good guy can’t even compete with himself

very bad compared to the original

Sounds dry and soulless
