Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure it looks more like Wicked Cyclone than Iron Rattler. Iron Rattler doesn’t have blue trains (as far as I know) and Iron Rattler isn’t surrounded by that many trees. 7:08 Hades at Mt. Olympus needed a full train capacity so it could get through the airtime hill needed, otherwise it needed man power for the train to get past the area
Forbidden Journey took my breath away when I rode it. One of the few rides I really had no idea where I was going next and was shocked at most turns. Also the dragon scared me. One of the few rides where I felt like a kid again.

I can’t wait for you to ride Flight of Passage! I’ve ridden that and HP and the Forbidden Journey and I would put FOP on top. I think you’ll appreciate the immersive experience.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere...but what are your thoughts on the Incredible Hulk coaster? I don't think I've ever heard you talk about it. I thought it was one of the best coasters to a lot of people? Thanks for the content.
Dude I've ridden rise of the resistance and I have ridden flight of Passage. They are both going to blow your mind!!!! So much better than Harry Potter
I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that you like spectacular dark rides over coasters. I think you'll like Flight of Passage when you get to ride it but don't expect it to be the all time best dark ride. It's really cool but it's still a simulator dark ride which means it will never be on the level of Forbidden Journey, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean or Radiator Springs Racers.
I personally think its up there with those rides. I usually detest simulators but Flight is marvelous. The immersion, ride system and ride philosophy is something I have never seen in a ride. You aren't in constant peril, there is no objective to overcome and the world is so alien, yet palpable. Flight of Passage works because instead of making a high thrill attraction that mimicked the action of the film it's based off of, it made a serene journey the focus. Between Tower of Terror, Flight and Rise of the Resistence, Dinsey has even modern dark rides nailed so well. Mickey and Minny's Runaway Railway is also something that has blown me away.
@@gotabonetopick2942 to each his own. I like Flight of Passage and I agree with all of the reasons you praised it. But I personally find myself more immersed by an experience when i can clearly see the reality of what I'm looking at and when i can look around and take in the experience which is why I feel that most screen based dark rides aren't as good as rides with practical effects. That stuff, it does have airtime so that's always fun. As for Mickey and Minnie's Runway Railway, I can't bring myself to like that. It uses a version of Mickey and the gang that I personally find to be annoying and the Great Movie Ride was in my top 5 favorite rides of all time so I'm still bitter. And putting aside my own preferences, removing that ride from DHS was like removing Spaceship Earth from EPCOT. It just doesn't make sense.
Where is Phoenix at Knoebels it also a golden ticket coaster One question Chris are you coming to Hershey park on opening day that is April 2nd I'm coming to opening day
Forbidden Journey is by far my favorite dark ride as well. I didn't even know it won that award. As much as I love i305, I have to agree that Forbidden Journey deserved that award.
If you are doing video ideas then my suggestion is to take coasters in your bucket list, and place them where you think they would go if you actually rode them. For example: if Smiler at Alton Towers is on your bucket list, where do you expect to have it in your rankings and why? What coasters would it place between?
Forbidden Journey is amazing, but it's also intense enough that I had to ride it solo, whereas I got to share Escape from Gringotts with my whole family, so I think I actually enjoyed it the more of the two.
Flight of Passage should’ve won 2017. I can’t properly express how amazing it is. A year like that makes me think they’re should be 2 separate awards, one for best new coaster and best non-coaster ride, because it’s a hard comparison.
My Rankings 15 Wild Eagle (sorry I meant mild eagle) 14 Flying Turns (kinda mediocre btw) 13 Ravine Flyer 2 (I got the same ride as you btw) 12 steel curtain (easily the most overrated coaster I've been on 11 New Texas Giant 10 Hades/Hades 360 9 Forgotten Journey 8 Prowler 7 Mystic Timbers 6 Maverick 5 Outlaw Run 4 Lightning Rod 3 Fury 325 2 The Voyage 1 Steel Vengeance
I was actually suprised that Leviathan didn't win, because I swear it should have. I think it was ranked in the top 3, but it should have been the top pick in my opinion. Idk how a wing coaster beat out a giga coaster.
Video suggestion: Do a video of every "best new ride" from 1980-2005 or something like that. Call it, "had the Best new ride category actually exist in 2005"
Really wasn't expecting Harry Potter to be number 1 on your list but I'm not mad. That ride is great. I usually go on it at least once every time I go to Universal which is about every other week or so.
Manta should be 2009's winner! (though I haven't rode Prowler...) Yes Forbidden Journey is awesome. My favorite simulator is still Soarin', but Forbidden Journey is 2nd. Haven't rode Flight of Passage or Rise of the Resistance though. Flight of Passage in particular had a 3-hour wait all day, so... yeah. I love Hagrid's but Steel Curtain could be better imo, we'll see whenever I get to ride it! Also shoutout to Transformers 3D, it kinda gets overlooked, being dismissed as "another Universal simulator ride," but it's actually really cool (not that I hate Universal simulators though) And last, Flying Turns???
I wonder if the 2020 rides, such as Orion and Candymonium, and the late 2019 TMNT Shellraiser (Flying Turns rule comes into play), will be eligible for 2021 Best New Ride consideration (realistically, none of those three have a chance to win it IMHO even if eligible)
Tower of Terror is still one the best rides ever created. The theming, preshow, ride system, reridability and scenes are just perfect. If it weren't for Rise of the Resistance and Flight of Passage, it would be easily the greatest dark ride I've ridden.
@@AirtimeThrills I definitely want to try the CA version. I might be biased because Florida has the best Tower of Terror ride system, but Guardians is a welcome change for a park needing to distinguish itself from other Disney Parks.
As much as I love Holiday World, I am glad Pilgrim's Plunge did not win that year. But it would've been a little hilarious if it did, since it closed pretty shortly afterwards because of constant issues.
Sorry to burst a bubble, but Steel Curtain only won the "Best New Roller Coaster" category for 2019, which may seem confusing, but it's something new for the Golden Ticket Awards. Instead of Best New Ride for an Amusement Park, the Golden Tickets created three new categories in 2019, those being Best New Family Attraction, Best New Roller Coaster, and what's basically the new way of saying "Best New Ride", Best New Attraction Installation, which Hagrid's actually won. Again, sorry if this causes any confusion.
Really disappointing that you would rank Prowler below Flying Turns when you’ve never ridden it. Worlds of Fun is my home park and every time I ride it I am left amazed at how good it is. (I went to Kings Island and was thoroughly disappointed by Mystic Timbers.) It may sound crazy, but try it in a middle row. I used to ride front seat, but I’ve found somewhere around row 5 to be best. I do hope you are able to get a night ride. It is pure insanity.
On Flight of Passage- I enjoyed it but flight simulators, while exciting, do not hold the thrill factor like a great coaster does. Every time you ride a top 10 coaster, it's fantastic. Flight sims get repetitive and don't hold my interest. Maybe if they had different versions they could switch out it would be different. Expedition Everest gets a 6.5 out of ten. Backward part is great but the rest is pretty tame.
I was super disappointed by Flight of Passage. I went in expecting an excellent Disney dark ride, but felt like just a slightly better version of Soarin'. Tower of terror in Orlando still is my favorite from the Disney parks. Revenge of the Mummy takes the cake overall though.
Haven’t ridden a motion simulator since Spongebob 3D at Paramount’s Kings Dominion so I’m not sure about FOP. All I know is that it’s based on a movie nobody cares about anymore.
I think you hit a miss on steel curtain, it should at least be top 5. I always gray out on the ride at least twice, and kings island is my home park so I'm used to roller coasters.
2012: To be fair, 2012 was a really weak year for coasters. I think Verbolten or Leviathan probably should have gotten this tbh. 2009: I think Prowler deserved this over Diamondback. 2014: Flying Turns won it based on the fact that it took a million years to open the thing. 2008: RFII deserved it... It's a fantastic coaster, and it's another one like Flying turns that took a million years to materialize. 2011: NTG is probably the best of the bunch. I'd say Cheetah Hunt maybe should have gotten it 2013: Was a stacked year for pure number of coasters. I'd say Gold Striker probably should get it. 2019: Steel Curtain deserved it. 2007: What else opened that year? Maverick is the clear choice. 2005: Hades had very little competition outside of Kingda Ka. 2017: Mystic Timbers was when Kings Island finally got their best new ride award. Totally agree 2016: Lightning Rod shouldn't have gotten it based on it never running in 2016. Switchback should have gotten it. 2006: No question, correct move... 2015: I could make an argument that Thunderbird should have gotten it but, I digress. 2018: I am from Ohio, and think that Time Traveler should have been the winner. 2010: I'm shocked I305 didn't get it...
I don't really understand all the hype around flight of passage. I went on it and thought it was pretty meh compared to many other rides even in the same park

Tower of Terror is still one the best rides ever created. The theming, preshow, ride system, reridability and scenes are just perfect. If it weren't for Rise of the Resistance and Flight of Passage, it would be easily the greatest dark ride I've ridden.
I agree, the ToT in CA turned into Guardians of the Galaxy and its amazing
@@AirtimeThrills I definitely want to try the CA version. I might be biased because Florida has the best Tower of Terror ride system, but Guardians is a welcome change for a park needing to distinguish itself from other Disney Parks.
wasn’t switchback built in 2015?
Yeah but it was surrounded by many other rides.
Do a topic on the most underrated flats (a topic that no one seemingly touches). I can think of a couple.
Flying turns can be turn to firewood for all I care! Banshee and Escape from Gringotts!? I can’t take these Golden ticket awards seriously
I love your channel and have been a subscriber for
A few years now . Please update your theme song music . Switch it up for 6 months and keep it fresh
Definitely snag a night ride, or a few on Prowler. Such a good woodie
you did wild eagle dirty 😂😂😂
Yeah Ik I love that ride 😂
That makes sense, thanks for letting me know, i didn't realize they blew up the category like that
You should do a video ranking the top 25 coasters that should have been in the GTA Top 50s.
Have you ever been “caught” with your iVue, or do ops not recognize them? Or just not care?
Most dont care, some compliment them, and a couple times I've been asked to take them off
can confirm Outlaw Run was glass smooth opening year
Video idea: Best surprise drops/moments on coasters
Something to look in to for sure
Really disappointing that you would rank Prowler below Flying Turns when you’ve never ridden it. Worlds of Fun is my home park and every time I ride it I am left amazed at how good it is. (I went to Kings Island and was thoroughly disappointed by Mystic Timbers.)
It may sound crazy, but try it in a middle row. I used to ride front seat, but I’ve found somewhere around row 5 to be best.
I do hope you are able to get a night ride. It is pure insanity.
What do you mean when you say Cu Chulainn is a knock off
On Flight of Passage-
I enjoyed it but flight simulators, while exciting, do not hold the thrill factor like a great coaster does.
I have been on mystic. I went on it during Halloween haunt of 2017 it was Awsome. I haven’t been to the Fl so I can’t say or carowinds
Right now Voyage is my number 1 coaster, maybe itll change whenever i finally get out to ride Toro or Vengeance, but who knows
The Golden Ticket awards are US focussed... 2016... Taron not mentioned...
Great video though... 👌
I think you hit a miss on steel curtain, it should at least be top 5. I always gray out on the ride at least twice, and kings island is my home park so I'm used to roller coasters.
“You’re a Wizard, Harry!”- lol 😂 Harry Potter is always #1 ! #teamGriffindor
Hagrid's Blah Blah said that.
Harry Potter hates Ohio, so don’t expect a Forbidden Journey clone to open up at Cedar Point anytime soon.
Flight of passage is AMAZING Disney World is the only US park I have ever been to as I live in England.
I gave you the 50th like!
I'd say Cheetah Hunt maybe should have gotten it
2013: Was a stacked year for pure number of coasters.
Totally agree
2016: Lightning Rod shouldn't have gotten it based on it never running in 2016.
How did leviathan lose?!
