Seeing a video like this just goes to show that not every manufacturer can be like RMC and Gravity Group and start off great right away. B&M, GCI, and Vekoma especially started off with some pretty lackluster coasters looking back and they all have improved significantly since. Hopefully Skyline Attractions can follow in the footsteps of those manufacturers especially considering they have already done a lot of great work with GCI. They just need to figure things out with their own rides and I think they will.
I mean look at vortex and how horrible it is and look at fury 325. Bnm has improved so much. Same thing goes for gci, look at wildcat (before rmc) and how trash it was and look at twisted Timbers. And don’t get me started on how bad t3 is compared to vecomas new tilt coaster models
@@diamondjebgold9906you mean mystic timbers? twisted timbers is an rmc. plus t3 is not vekoma’s first coaster, that title belongs to super wirbel at holiday park
Awesome list and having ridden it, Matterhorn is a pretty incredible first coaster for Arrow. Also Venus GP recently went vertical at Himeji Central Park cementing it’s comeback which is great.
The whole video, I was thinking RMC with NTG at # 1. When it came in at 2, I wondered what could possibly top it, but I forgot about Hades being the first for Gravity Group. I totally agree that it's # 1. I would put the 2 wildcat woodies higher. Both are a bit rough, but both have given me great airtime on my rides.
It’s so interesting to see where all of these manufacturers got their start! I never realized that so many of them only got their start as recently as the 90s… it’s crazy how far coasters have come in such a short time! Great list overall, and you definitely made some compelling points.
It's really cool to see my home park Dutch Wonderland finally represented and appreciated in one of these videos. Dutch Wonderland is underrated, and a lost gem in the coaster world. I have a season pass there, Kingdom Coaster is my number one, and of course this is not sarcasm
As a native Wisconsinite, I’ve probably ridden Hades at least 20 times. So much fun! Glad to see it top the list. I think the last time I went was in 2012, so I was surprised to see that they added an inversion! Will definitely have to go back and check it out.
Love the video. I always enjoy watching your videos about the history of coasters. I also enjoy Home Run Productions as well. I played baseball for 16-17 years of my life. I usually don't watch sports channels but I figured I'd give it a shot since I enjoy this channel so much and it's already got me back interested in baseball again.
That is absolutely insane that a companies best 2 coasters are their first 2. That just shows how willing Gravity Group was to make a big splash in the industry early.
@@AirtimeThrills Ok today kids, no maths or english, we will review how awesome RMC's are. Also, if you like Green lantern first flight D-. If you like Fury 325 A+. That Simple
I was genuinely shocked when I saw #2 wasn’t #1, but I had forgotten about Hades. I’m a little sad I’ve only ridden 4 of these (T Tornado, Runaway Mountain, Matterhorn and NTG) but many are overseas so that doesn’t help me much lol. Also a friendly critique, in German when there is an “ie” in a word or name (like Wiegand), it’s pronounced with an “eee”, and if it’s “ei” it’s pronounced with an “i”. The east way to remember is whichever letter is second is the one to say. Great video, this was an excellent topic!
4:32 This coaster isn't figure eight. From other pictures of the ride, this coaster was called "Scenic" and operated at Six Gun Territory (also called Willow Grove Park) in Pennsylvania. It had a different layout and opened in 1896. It actually survived for a while until the park closed in the 1975.
Always so cool seeing Texas Tornado on any list. That was the first coaster I rode as a kid and I had no idea the loops were wonky until I got into coasters!
Correction at 8:36 : Premier has actually built 3 non-launch coasters: Runaway Mountain, Buzzsaw Falls at Silver Dollar City, and Vonkaputous at Linnanmäki.
Very creative concept for a video! I loved it. Also, I had no idea Racing was Zierer's oldest coaster (probably). I rode that thing my whole life without knowing, and now I want another last ride on it xD A mild ride, but such a classic
I rode Hades in it's first year and it's still probably one of my best experiences on a coaster. I haven't ridden it since they added the inversion, but from what I've seen I think it actually makes the ride worse. The problem is that the corkscrew slows down the train a lot more than the old turn did. Not only does this make the end of the ride less intense, but it means they can only run full trains otherwise it risks valleying on the way back. Original Hades best Hades.
It's the Timberliners that are slowing it down, not the inversion itself. Holiday World looked into getting Timberliners for The Voyage long ago; this ended up being a long, multiple-year long saga, but the short version is they opted to keep the PTCs because the Timberliners ran much slower.
Iron Wolf was a great coaster especially if you were in the front row. The American Eagle is an excellent coaster especially if you got to race the other coaster. I like the part when you're going around in a big circle with water beneath.
An interesting history lesson here. Most I have never heard of. Cci reminded me of Mega Zeph at the old Six Flags in NO. Really like the woodies. I enjoyed this video. Thank you.
I'm a sucker for any list video, and this was no exception. Until today, I had no idea that when I was working in Germany right out of college in 2003 and rode Super Wirbel, that it was the first Vekoma coaster!
Personally my favorite coaster is new Texas giant because I've never been out of over Texas for big coasters so I'm glad to see it at #2 on this cause I think it is a great coaster
Great video! Kingdom coaster was surprisingly fun - worth a stop next time you’re on the east coast 😎 back row had surprisingly decent forces, particularly for a family coaster
The first 90% of Firebird is actually pretty fun since the conversion from standup to floorless. Not great, but enjoyable. The headbanger part about 90% through the ride is brief enough that it doesn’t completely ruin it but it keeps me from riding it more than once or twice a visit.

I live just outside Johannesburg, and have been to Gold Reef City at least 4 times and have been on the Anaconda multiple times . The Anaconda is a fan favorite and sections of it can be seen from the parking lot . I could be wrong, but I believe it's the only invert coaster in South Africa. The park really is worth a visit.

I am biased because I have a soft spot for Arrow. I think Matterhorn should be #1 just because of the revolutionary tubular track Arrow built. It's arguable that Arrow was the most innovative roller coaster manufacturer of all time (RMC, B&M, and Schwarzkopf probably have a good case, too), but I would argue that those manufacturers wouldn't be around if Arrow hadn't invented things like the tubular steel track, the modern inversion, and corkscrew.
I think New texas giant is a really underrated coaster. At night it really has one of the best night ride of any coaster tbh I rode all rmc at night and say that new texas giant really has one of the best
I’m so confused about the claim that the Giovanola invert was based/ripped off from B&M when Bolliger and Mabillard were both employees at Giovanola who decided to form their own company. They literally worked for Giovanola at the time the invert was built. Besides that great vid, a good mix of interesting and entertaining.
This invert was built in 1999 so Bolliger and Mabillard had been out of the company for 12 years. They were responsible for Giovanola having that track design, and I imagine the people still with the company in the late 90s took their inspiration for this layout from Batman the Ride
Sky Princes / now Kingdom Coaster is a fun family wood coaster. It’s just big enough for parents to enjoy and just small enough for kids graduating from kiddie coasters. Rattler was a great coaster when I rode it the year after it opened. It was sad to see it’s decline and one day I hope to ride the RMC version.
Thanks for making another great video with plenty of details to nerd out over. Today I'm picking No. 23, PTC-Figure Eight. Being from the Cleveland area, I always appreciate a mention of the venerable Euclid Beach, but I think it's only fair to mention that EB's Figure Eight was one of seven figure 8 model coasters to open in PTC's inaugural year. I'm guessing you only chose the Euclid Beach Figure Eight because it was at the top of the list on rcdb when you sorted PTC coasters by year (oldest to newest). Unfortunately, that is just because when multiple dates are the same the list is alphabetized by park. Norfolk Virginia's, Pine Beach Park was home to PTC's Figure 8 Toboggan and credited with PTC's serial #1. However, a lower serial number doesn't necessarily mean a faster opening since serial no.7 opened in 1905 the year after Euclid Beach's Figure Eight, which is credited with serial no. 9.
One of those coasters are very interesting that their "First Coaster" has Manufacturers such as B&M, Togo, Jinma Rides, Vekoma, Custom Coasters International (CCL), Maurer, Morgen, Giovanola, S&S Worldwide, Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), Arrow Dyramics, Gravity Group, Schwarzkopf, & Mack Rides. But still they are the best Manufacturers for manufacturing rides and roller coasters!
I'm torn on if I would've counted a conversion as RMC's first coaster or not. One one hand they did make the sequencing of the elements but on the other hand they didn't really choose the layout.
I think rmc has a ton of agency when it comes to their conversions. The existing structure does guide them into certain things but the rest is all their creativity
Adventure Park USA, near me but have never attended. They have Busch Gardens Williamsburg's former Wildcat model from Swartzkoph which was relocated I think 5 times, and today I learned their other coaster is Zamperla's first coaster! I believe I finally should go there just for those reasons.
Here's a video idea for you. If you could build your own amusement park, which coasters would you include? Imagine having Fury 325 and Steel Vengeance in the same park! The only rule, you have to have a realistic lineup. A realistic lineup doesn't include multiple of the same coaster type. Only one Wood, one Hyper, one Giga, etc. For example, you can't have both Steel Vengeance and Lightning Rod. Since parks in real life will usually have only one of each type so should you.
I rode Rattler in its original form in 1994 before the heavy reprofiling... i gotta say it was a tad rough but its was exiting as f*** First drop was one of the best off a wooden coaster ever.
My mom used to visit fiesta texas during the summer everyday with her friends, she said that the rattler was her favorite ride when it opened and said it was smooth, but then a couple years later she told me it was extremely rough

This may be hard to believe but I promise, Wildcat DID OPEN that rough. I rode it every year from 1996 to 2004, as we went every year for much of my childhood. Even as a 6 year old, I said "wow! This is so bumpy!"
I also wanted to mention that Wild West express is one of the most rough and discomfort able roller coaster ever, very strange to see it over other rides i found fine
When I was a kid, I remember thinking Wildcat was the exciting woodie out of the three at Hershey. Went this past summer and it beat the hell out of my friends and I lol. Comet was the tamest but was the most fun due to the length and fun airtime pops. Lightning Racer wasn't the most exciting but it has some of the best dueling interactions if you have friends in the other train.
Superwirbel was not the first Vekoma coaster. German showmen Bruch and Kinzler (yes, the same that owned the first Looping Star, now Silver Bullet) were the first to own the same type of coaster. Unsurprisingly, the design of this coaster wasn't suitable for traveling, and it ended up first at Traumlandpark in Germany, being relocated to other parks later. This was probably the only Vekoma MK-1200 coaster to ever feature on a German fair, even if only for a single fair before it was sold to the park. When it comes to Schwarzkopf, there was at least one other model before the Wildcats. It was called Düsenspirale and was built for German showman Löffelhardt. Unfortunately not much information on this ride is available today. The first Wildcat-like coaster was indeed called Super-8-Bahn, built for German showmen Schippers and van der Ville, it featured some differences compared to the later Wildcats - not sure if this is the one that was sold to Moscow. The name suggests it, but I wasn't able to find any confirmation on this. It may just have been another Wildcat with the same name. Anyway, it's debatable whether this can be considered a different model, but Düsenspirale clearly was a totally different design.
I rode The Rattler before the RMC conversion, and that helix was a BUMMER. Rough, slow, killed the pacing of the ride. And when I say "rough" I mean "tell people to avoid the back of the train-- not just the back car, but the whole back THIRD" rough.
Every RCCA coaster takes the top spot for worst layout of any coaster and Rattler is the worst of the worsy The coaster spends more time on the helix (a full minute) than the entire drop-to-brakes duration on Iron Rattler. (Correct me if I’m wrong)

Lightning Racer wasn't the most exciting but it has some of the best dueling interactions if you have friends in the other train.
The way you say "Souris folle" is so funny
Every RCCA coaster takes the top spot for worst layout of any coaster and Rattler is the worst of the worsy
The coaster spends more time on the helix (a full minute) than the entire drop-to-brakes duration on Iron Rattler. (Correct me if I’m wrong)
Watching this after the wildcat announcement is pretty cool
I actually rode Roller Coaster at Hanayashiki before I was an enthusiast. Personally, I thought it was decent
3:04 so is many other Chinese manufacturers
Love ya, brother. Best videos out there
Great video 👍
When I hear Fast and Run I know it’s gonna be a good video 🔥
Super Wirbel was the very first coaster I ever rode, in 1986. We were stationed in Germany and my little brother dared me to go on it.
