First Kid Goku (GT) now SSJ Kid Gohan, Bandai are killing it again with their small figures after the miss-steps with Pan and Namek Krillin. Aestheitcally near perfect, my issues being whilst the faces are bettter, especially his neutral one compard to the neutral Goku figure, it still could go be a bit better with eye sizing, and the way the thighs are cut has the Namek SSJ Goku issue of his thighs puffing out around the hips. Articulation is pretty stellar, great head & neck articulation, ab-crunch, butterfly joint withh softer chest material for more range, they just need to get the guys on the Naruto figure line to teach them how to make proper ankle articulation and make the reduce the size of the sculpted butt for some more range but otherwise I'm content. Cap with wire cape I'm content with and flowing hair sculpt is superb. Like you said of the Android line hes 2nd after Krillin and of the kid figures he's behind GT Goku for me but considering both of those are some of my all-time favourites this Gohan looks to be no slouch. Can't wait for mine to arrive.
I wonder if we’ll get a ssj2 head for this or a seperate battle damaged ssj2 gohan release. Id prefer the battle damage one cause they did so good on LSSJ goku
Well, just starting the video and already I do not like the hip articulation. They need to stop overcomplicating articulation that they’ve gotten right in the past. I did not know he didn’t come with any kind of ab articulation. Wtf. Even krillin came with ab and waist articulation. Marvel legends has been doing this recently too (e.g., Luke cage, the new wasp). It’s a $65 figure and it’s undersized. No reason at all that it shouldn’t come with a diaphragm joint. Collectors are getting to used to this. You point out that he is like a mini version of the adult Gohan. I don’t see that at all. The adult gohan came with better go joints that work great and don’t have a huge lip on the upper thigh. They used the same hips as they did for trunks. It also came with a diaphragm joint. If they actually did make it like the adult version, this would’ve been a perfectly articulated figure. I mean it looks so gappy in the waist as you articulate it.

I care more about having a base form head than another SS2 one since we have so many variants already. I understand we technically didn't see Teen Gohan in base form until after he beat Cell but it would be a nice change. It would make sense to include base form head and face parts with a 3.0 SS2 release. Heck I'd wouldn't mind seeing a Bojack Unbound version Gohan release
In the review, you compare him with Ultimate Gohan as his miniature version which is understandable. But I think a closer comparison is with Orange Piccolo in how there's no ab cut, and thigh parts that sticks up the sides. That ankle tilt doesn't look like much improvement to be honest. It's not that Tamashii can't do it with small figures, example Anya from Spy x Family having better ankle tilt. Edit: Finally got this figure in hand and I was wrong about the ankle tilt. It's better than Orange Piccolo, on par with GT kid Goku range.
Shimeh Shimeh 😅, He's amazing!, always have a soft spot for the 1.0 and this 2.0 is definitely a treat to get eventually for me, still not feeling the cape I think the original 1.0 the cape better, can't wait for a ssj 2 gohan battle damage 2.0.
I think they will re release a perfect cell and will do us dirty and put the ssj2 gohan head in there with him like all the figures for the dbs super hero movie
Great review as always, I was just waiting for this to preorder haha. No QC issue was what I wanted to know considering how badly I wanted this figure. Now we just wait for a crazy good new Perfect Cell and a new SSJ2 Gohan. I see many accessories possibilities for Gohan SSJ2 3.0, Android 16's head, senzu bag (like krillin) or a kamehameha/masenko piece.
Yo 86d, what's Tamashii have against smiling faces? At this point they need to do a smiling face pack for the Z warriors - Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, and both versions of Trunks. I can't believe a 3rd party hasn't stepped in yet. Also I'm a little worried how the soft waist, belt, and shirt can get misaligned while posing. Is it frustrating, or easy enough to keep things in place?
Not sure, but I think different designers prefer different accessories for their figures I guess. Naruto and ONE PIECE love their silly faces so I’m hoping we get more smiles for DB
Besides a obvious SSJ2 Gohan and Perfect Cell 2.0, am i the only one wishing for a Golden Freeza 2.0? I feel like tamashi has found a good balance with making figures from Z, Super and GT at this point.
Awesome video, dude and your excitement really comes through haha I personally am very happy with the “build-a-figure” approach. It means they can always add a new head sculpt or accessory down the line and compliments other releases which may not have been AS interesting, especially for less popular characters. Figures with a ton of accessories are preferable but it’s a relief to know that what comes in the box isn’t necessarily all there will be. Still waiting for a stern face for final form/fourth form Frieza!

At the very least it doesn’t impact articulation like it did for beast gohan. That soft plastic used for the crotch piece came in clutch.

It’s glued into the back of the shoulder pads, but I guess you can hand wash it if you wanted
I despise the round "super hero" shoes for Gohan and piccolo. They were always pointy on the end, they just don't look right round.
Ehh it fits better for the modern era. The tow box never really made sense for those shoes
